Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Junk Mail, by Kendall Ryan

Junk Mail, a hilariously sexy standalone by New York Times bestselling author is live and available everywhere.

It all started with a sexy selfie. 🍆

A deliciously naughty, tell-everyone-you-know read!

About Junk Mail

It all started with a sexy selfie.

Texted to the wrong number.

Oops.

Not my finest moment—but I have nothing to be ashamed of.

She thought I was no better, and I quote, than the knuckle-dragging douche-bags she was never dating again.

It was a stupid dare from a girl I’d met online, but since she’d given me a fake number, I didn’t feel bad that my interests were suddenly focused elsewhere—on the fiery and sharp-tongued, Peyton that I found myself sparring with over text for the rest of the evening.

The following day, my case of mistaken identity came back to bite me in the banana.

When I strolled into the office, I was introduced to Peyton as the new client I needed to win over. The Peyton , in case you’re not tracking.

And let’s just say she had my full attention.

Brains? Check.

Beauty? Oh yeah.

And the best part? She hated me on sight.

Dear God, do I love a challenge.

Let the games begin.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

What a fun read! This book had me in stitches. Peyton and Josh were a perfect pair, right from the start, and Gram was a hoot!

The meet-cute between Josh and Peyton was great. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything like that before! The fine line they tried to straddle between personal and professional was well-written, and I liked that I was shown the conflict they both felt, not just told it was there.

These two sizzled from the start, and I immediately fell in love with Peyton and Josh.

I did find it odd that there was zero mention of either of their parents. Josh said he knew what it was like to lose someone you love… but there was no further explanation. Other than Gram and his cousin, Claire, there was zero mention of other family members. Everything else in this book flowed great and clicked for m, aside from that!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

New Release: Sunny Shelly Reviews Baby Mine, by Kennedy Fox

I saw her first.

Blonde. Gorgeous. Feisty.

I was smitten. But it didn’t matter because she chose him and
he was my best friend and roommate. I’d never be able to compete with that, so
I pushed her away instead. It was easy when she lived hours away, and I didn’t
have to see her every day, but then she moved in with us.

Now, I’m screwed.

To her singing in the shower every morning,
dancing in the kitchen while she makes coffee, and doing yoga in our living
room, I can’t stop thinking about her in all the wrong ways. She’s not mine and
never will be, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to push her against a wall
and claim her mouth.

She’s constantly on me for making messes,
bringing chicks home every weekend, and being a smartass when their PDA gets on
my nerves. Considering neither of them know how I feel, it’s not fair for the
way I act toward them. I should move out so I can get over her for good;
however, the selfish part of me can’t let go.

But then the unthinkable happens…

When my best friend dies in a motorcycle
accident, the two of us are left to grieve our loss together. Instead of
pushing her away, I pull her closer.

Just as we come to terms with our new reality,
she finds out she’s pregnant with his baby.

And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my
life…

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Oh my goodness! Baby Mine is full of angsty goodness!

Hunter has been in love with Lennon since the night he met her… except that even though he met her first, she ultimately chose his best friend, Brandon. Now, the three of them are roommates, and Hunter is trapped in a hell of his own making. The only way for him to survive is to pretend to hate Lennon. And he does such a fantastic job of that, that she hates him right back.

But when their lives are forever changed by one knock on the door, Hunter and Lennon lean on each other in a way that they can’t lean on anyone else. And when Lennon discovers after Brandon’s death that she’s pregnant, Hunter steps up to protect her, take care of her and the baby, even if it means a lifetime of heartbreak for himself.

I really wanted to dislike Brandon. I wanted a clear path to not feel like Hunter was doing something wrong in having feelings for Lennon. But Kennedy Fox wrote these characters magnificently, and even knowing Brandon’s fate ahead of time, I was absolutely crushed by his death, along with Hunter and Lennon. You know when you get that gut-punch for a character? I got that so early on in this story when it came to Hunter. His torment was palpable, and every time he felt that knife twist further into his heart, I bled right along with him.

This book is the first part of a duet, and it ends on a cliffhanger. And what a whopper it is! The romance between Hunter and Lennon is barely even started yet, but there’s a slow burn that’s been building as Lennon realizes she’s starting to see him in a different light. But that twist at the end has the potential to turn everything upside down, and I can’t wait to see where this story goes in the second part!

New Release: Stay With Me, by K.L. Grayson

release blitz banner.jpg

Stay With Me, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by USA Today bestselling author K.L. Grayson is live!

Cover.jpg

Stay with me.

Three simple words.

One impossible request.

I’ve loved Allie McCallister for as long as I can remember. Her happiness and well-being mean more to me than anything else, which is why when the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself, I had to take it. Three months was such a short amount of time to be apart to provide the financial stability we needed to start our lives.

It wasn’t supposed to catapult my band to stardom, and it sure as hell wasn’t supposed to set off the chain of events that pushed my relationship with Allie to the brink. Our hearts were shattered, our love tested, and when everything fell apart she begged me to leave.

Eight years ago, tragedy broke us. Now we’re back in the same little town where we once dreamed of building our future.

She’s a divorced, single mom.

I’m a damaged country music star.

There are a hundred reasons for us to stay apart.

But all it takes is one look, one touch, one kiss to know our story isn’t over. Now I have to convince her to let me stay.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Twist Tied, by Heather Guimond

Title: Twist Tied
Series: Love Between the Pages
Author: Heather Guimond
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: April 11, 2019
Cover Design: KAM Designs
If you’ve ever been left twisted in knots by your last book boyfriend…
Clarisse:
Author Wyatt Chase is one kinky mo-fo, and I know kinky.
I’ve spent years devouring steamy stories that have left me fit to be tied, and as the assistant to his top rival, I’ve rubbed elbows with some of the dirtiest minds around.
To make my life imitate his art, I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.
Wyatt:
My readers think they know me from my stories, but I just have an imagination more fertile than a box of Miracle-Gro. When Clarisse Flores blindsides me with an unexpected proposition, I hesitate. She wants the Marquis de Sade, not some kinky fraud. Nevermind the fact she’s hell on wheels. Taming her should be a job for a professional, but one look into her hazel eyes and I’m willing to try.
What happens when a bossy, smart-mouthed, independent woman is determined to submit to a man who can barely tie his own necktie?
Something is bound to unravel…

“A fantastic read that will keep a smirky smile of your face as the crazy banter plays out in the page turning twists making it impossible to put down.” ~Amazon Review

“This book had such a fresh outlook on romance in how it combined author life and BDSM expectations and I freaking loved it!” ~Amazon Review

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Twist Tied is the third book in Heather Guimond’s Love Between The Pages series and it is just as charming as the first two books.

Clarisse is Gage’s PA from The Novel Approach. Now that he’s pretty settled into a routine with Stacey, Clarisse gets it into her mind that becoming a PA for another popular erotic romance king, Wyatt Chase, would give her the double benefit of spicing up her lackluster love life. After all, Wyatt is a king of BDSM romance, so surely he could teach Clarisse a thing or two. She wants to be dominated, and Wyatt is the man to do it.

Or so she thinks. It’s hysterical seeing these two interact, because Wyatt knows zilch about D/s relationships and has pretty much just made up everything that he’s ever written. And with a bit of a scandal in his recent past involving two readers, Wyatt isn’t in much of a position to be doing anything other than laying low.

As he and Clarisse try to give their relationship a go, it’s full of funny moments and lots of ups and downs. Clarisse is not the submissive type, and Wyatt can’t get himself to fully take control. These characters relate so well to one another, even through all of their bickering. They are so relatable, and their relationship ends up being about so much more than just the physical connection.

This was a fantastic opposites attract story. It’s not at all what you think you’ll be reading in a BDSM novel, an it’s a great inside look into the world of romance authors. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Heather Guimond is a Los Angeles native, a fact she’s abnormally proud of. When she’s not trying to write something that will make people laugh or rip their hearts out (or both!) she’s either reading or doing her best to crack the whip on her three home-schooled teenagers. She loves all things witty and wise-cracking, as well most varieties of smart-assery. Other favorites include French roast coffee in copious amounts and the dirtiest Dirty Martinis she can find. More than anything, she hopes she writes books that stick with the reader long after the pages have been read.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews It Was Always You, by Kristine Dugger

Title: It Was Always You

Genre: Contemporary Romance

It has been ten long years since I have really been home. Yes, I have come and gone but not really stayed put for a great amount of time. I have stayed in contact with some of my friends. But there is one friend, who always had my back. Who was always there for me. Duane, my loveable man whore of a friend. He keeps me grounded despite some of the choices I have made.

Speaking of choices, several years ago, I wrote a best-selling novel about my relationship with my ex-boyfriend, Tyler. He was my world when we were teenagers. Unfortunately, our teenage love story ended with me running off to college in a different state.

Now, I am home. It is time to face the demons of what I wrote. Seeing Tyler. What will happen between us? Will love rekindle? Or will someone else sweep me off my feet?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

Romance author Hailey returns home from college, and she waffles back and forth between seeing if there is still something with her high school boyfriend, Tyler, and falling into a friends with benefits relationship with her best friend Duane. Who is also Tyler’s best friend.

As the three of them try to navigate this sticky situation, there is all kinds of drama, naturally. And lots of sex. I thought the situation that led to Duane and Hailey splitting was kind of immature on his part, and deserved a discussion with Hailey first. It should have been her choice.

The story is a relatively quick one; it took me a little over an hour to read it. And i enjoyed it, but I just didn’t love it. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I just didn’t fall in love with Hailey as a heroine. But if you like love triangles with lots of drama and a heroine who finally figures her life out, then It Was Always You is right up your alley.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Blurb
Nate Reynolds is everything I shouldn’t want. Aside from being my best friend’s older brother, he’s a cocky, smooth-talking, panty-dropping playboy of a cop. And yet, I’m helplessly drawn to him.

His charm and good looks reduce me to a fumbling, mumbling teenaged version of myself, which pretty much guarantees that nothing will ever come of my silly crush.

Until the night of my best friend’s wedding.

Jenny Jones is the definition of innocence. She’s also my little sister’s best friend, making her

completely off limits. She’s a forever kind of girl with hearts in her eyes, where I’ve always been more of a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy.

Until a night spent between the sheets with her has me questioning everything I thought I wanted.

I tried my hardest to stay away, but you know what they say about the best intentions …

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Oh, I loved Best Of Intentions! Jenny is full of fire, sassy and self-confident. Nate is a sexy cop, but gentle and sweet and considerate and kind. She’s been harboring a crush on Nate, the older brother of her best friend Natalie, for years, and the night of Natalie and Alden’s wedding, Jenny makes her move.

Nate doesn’t do relationships, and Jenny doesn’t do one-night stands. She knows what she’s getting into, but when Nate keeps coming back for more, Jenny is getting all kinds of mixed signals. She finally puts her foot down when it comes to not being Nate’s booty call, and they put each other firmly in the friend zone. Naturally, that is when Nate realizes that he’s envisioning a future with Jenny in it, but will the scars of his past prevent him from grabbing onto a future?

I loved these two together. They balanced each other out, their banter was witty, and they were wonderfully written characters. The heat level was just hot enough, and there were plenty of sweet moments between them that had nothing to do with the bedroom. Oh, and little Tatum! That child steals the show!

I had not read Best Laid Plans (Natalie and Alden’s story) previously, so there were a few references made to that book that I was in the dark about, but none of that took away from my enjoyment of Nate and Jenny’s story. I will be going back to read that one now! And I really hope that Nate’s partner gets his own story, because I want to know more about him!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Excerpt
With the very tips of my fingers, I drag them down her arm to her elbow. I wrap my hand around her and pull her impossibly closer. Her head nestles against my chest as we sway to the music.

I keep her on the dance floor for at least four songs, unwilling to let her go. Thank God, they were all slow, because I don’t think I’m ready to really feel her move. Even now, with us merely rocking back and forth, her body feels so damn good pressed up against mine—and don’t even get me started on the way she occasionally presses her nails into my chest.

On song five, my luck runs out. The bass thumps low as she spins and presses her back into my front. Jenny may struggle to talk around me, but her body is saying all the things her words don’t. She swivels her hips as the tempo climbs, and the semi I’ve been sporting is in real danger of rivaling the damn tent the reception is being held in.

Seemingly unaware of my mental—and physical—struggle, Jenny keeps right on grinding her ass into me. Deciding to go with it, I palm her hips and move with her. My rhythm isn’t quite as good as hers, but we’re in sync enough for me to know we would be on-fucking-fire if we were doing this dance between the sheets instead.

Right, because that’s what I need to be thinking about right now.

But Cole would have never forgiven himself if he had held Aubrey back from success.

So the last thing he expects after all these years is to walk into his favorite bar one night and find the girl he’s always loved—there—looking for him.

Maybe now’s the time to make his dreams come true.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

When a false positive blood test has director Aubrey thinking that she has just weeks left to live, she starts to think about all she hasn’t done with her life… and the biggest regret is the love she left behind in small-town Oklahoma. But is it too late for a second chance with Cole?

I have mixed feelings about Love, Again. I wanted more anger from Cole, I think. While I was glad that the reunion between Aubrey and Cole happens pretty early on, and the second half of the book is then reconnecting on their shared Bucket List trip, I wanted *more* of *something* before all was forgiven. Yes, they are both still desperately in love with one another, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more back and forth before they kissed and made up.

I’d love to see Bennett and Emilia get their own story. That instalove between the two of them captured my interest more than Cole and Aubrey.

Still, Love, Again was a sweet second-chance romance. Low drama, and a HEA that ties everything up with a nice bow as Aubrey finds a way to have her cake and eat it too when it comes to her directing career and life with Cole in small-town Oklahoma.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

I always knew Aubrey’s path and mine would collide one day, but I definitely wasn’t ready for it. For years I closed myself off from my feelings, but the second she came into town, they all hit me in the fucking face. I’d seen her on TV, winning her many awards, but seeing her in person hurt on a deeper level. It killed me to walk away from her, but I was so damn pissed. Ten years of pent-up emotions that I hadn’t been able to deal with were bursting out of me. I didn’t know how to cope with it.
Pulling into my driveway, I slammed on the brakes and hopped out. My chest felt like it’d been ripped wide open. I stormed inside my house and went straight for the liquor, knowing it wasn’t the way to deal with the issue. Turning up the bottle of the whiskey, I gulped down a couple of chugs. It burned the whole way down to my stomach, but it took the edge off. I don’t know how long I sat at my kitchen bar, staring at the half-drunk bottle before my brother’s voice echoed from behind.
“Has she already driven you to drinking?”
I turned around, and there was my brother, standing in the kitchen doorway. Gaze narrowed, I slammed the bottle on the counter. “How could you not tell me she was in town?”
Bennett sighed and lowered his head. “I’m sorry. There was no time.” Then he looked over at me. “After I ran into her at the fair, I took her to where she was staying and we started talking. She told me the truth about everything. You need to let her explain.”
I threw my arms in the air. “Like it’s going to make me forget the last ten years.” When Aubrey said she was filled with regret and guilt, I was too. I’d hated myself for not doing what I should’ve done when she left. Grabbing the bottle of whiskey, I set it on the kitchen table and sat down. Bennett sat across from me, his accusatory stare right on mine. We both knew Aubrey wasn’t the only one to blame.
“You two have a lot of talking to do, brother,” Bennett said. “I understand if you’re mad, and that’s okay, but you owe it to each other to work this out.”
I shook my head. “We can’t just turn back time.”
Bennett’s lips pulled up in a sly grin, and he shrugged. “Maybe not. Then again, it might be best you move on for good. That way, I can have Aubrey all to myself. If you don’t want her, I’d be happy to take her off your hands. We both know I’m better looking.”

A feeling I hadn’t felt in a long time ignited in my veins. Jealousy. Bennett knew better than to take what was mine. And there it was . . . the stark realization hitting me upside the head. I’d tried to convince myself for years that I was over Aubrey, but in fact I was still in love with her, no matter how much I wanted to hate her for leaving. I hated myself more for not following her, even when she told me not to.
