BLURB

Dane Goldenโ€”Best friend. Temptation in football cleats. Roommate?

Iโ€™m screwed.

His followers donโ€™t call him Pretty Boy D for nothing. The guy is, literally, Godโ€™s gift to women. I should know. Iโ€™ve watched chicks throw themselves at him since puberty.

Sharing his loft should be simple. Easy. But shortly after I settle in, we realize being “just friends” was so much easier when we werenโ€™t sleeping under the same roof.

Seven years of thinking we had this down to a science goes out the window the night Dane sees my โ€œNever Have I Everโ€ list. Now, heโ€™s on a mission to help me cross off the top four items. Some of which arenโ€™t quite as innocent as heโ€™d expect.

What heโ€™s proposing will break the rules we agreed to when I first came to stay here. He wants me to give in, to let my guard down and face my feelings for once. At least, thatโ€™s what that wicked look in his eyes and the mounting heat between us suggests.

This isnโ€™t how I imagined being roommates would go. But a girl can only stare temptation in its green eyes for so long and not weaken.

My best friend wants to have his way with me and, right or wrongโ€ฆ I think I might let him.

***

Pretty Boy D is a full-length standalone novel. This book can absolutely be read on its own, but when youโ€™re done, itโ€™s recommended that you check out more from the Golden triplets and Joss in the complete enemies-to-lovers trilogy, KINGS OF CYPRESS PREP.

Do you enjoy the frustratingly hot push and pull of a good friends-to-lovers or roommates-to-lovers romance? Then youโ€™ll love getting to know Dane and Joss. Due to adult themes and sexual situations, this oneโ€™s only for the 18+ crowd. Expect an HEA and no trigger warnings needed.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

Pretty Boy D wasโ€ฆ pretty good, but I guess I was expecting more from Dane and Joss crossing over from friends to more after getting to know them in the first Golden Boys books. What occurs between them is perfectly fine friends-to-lovers trope, but they were kinda lacking that *oomph* that I got from Blue and West in the first books of this series.

There were some miscommunications between Dane and Joss that had me shaking my head. They were best friends for so long first, and then she jumped to a conclusion about him being with other girls and didnโ€™t confront him? I didnโ€™t buy it.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read, but I just felt it didnโ€™t pack the same punch as Westโ€™s books did. Maybe I expected too much? Itโ€™s not necessary to have read the previous books in this connected series to enjoy Pretty Boy D, but check them out anyway!

When a psychic tells you who your soulmate is when you are a teenager, are you destined to live your life searching for that person? And what happens when things donโ€™t work out the way the psychic vision says they would? Are you fated to live one person?

My Greatest Mistake was wildly entertaining. I loved the journey that Zara went through in finding her Mr. Right!

Zara and her beau are both fantastic characters, well-written with a well-plotted storyline. I loved their meet-cute, the banter between them, how their relationship blossomed and then blew up, and the big makeup scene. I ate it up!

This is the start to a new series by T. Gephart, and sheโ€™s set up a great cast of supporting players here. Iโ€™m already invested in Belle, and canโ€™t wait to see who her perfect match will be.

Meet T. Gephart

T Gephart is a USA Today and International bestselling author from Melbourne, Australia.
With an approach to life that is somewhat unconventional, she prefers to fly by the seat of her pants rather than adhere to some rigid roadmap. Her lack of “plan” has resulted in a rather interesting and eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history. She’d tell you all about it, but the statute of limitations hasn’t expired yet. But all those crazy twists and turns have led her to a career she loves–writing romantic comedy.
When she isn’t filling pages with sassy and sexy characters with attitude, she’s living her own reality show in the ‘burbs of Melbourne with her American husband, two teenage children, and her fur child–Woodley.
She loves adventure, to laugh, travel, and strives to live her life to the fullest.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Rent-A-Husband, by Everly Ashton

Release Date: July 8

When Camila Wright hired me to fix a few things around her house I didnโ€™t expect to find myself swindled into a fake relationship with her.

Sure, my company is called Rent-A Husband but thatโ€™s not what people actually hire me for.

But when I find her elbow deep in a tub of ice cream with tears running down her face how can I turn down her proposition?

Suddenly a fake relationship becomes a fake marriage that we have to keep up all summer. Which is all fine and good except for the part where we both agreed not to let anything โ€˜realโ€™ creep into our arrangement.

But then certain parts of me start to crave certain parts of her and things become even more complicated because we both have our own reasons for wanting what we have to remain make-believe only.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

I’ve read a few books by Everly Ashton ever since she made her debut earlier in 2021, and they are always enjoyable. Cami and Lucas are wildly adorable, and this slow-burn, fake relationship/fake marriage romcom was full of laughs, tender moments, and all sorts of swoon.

Anyone who reads this trope knows how a fake relationship/fake marriage is going to turn out. But Everly Ashton made the journey for Cami and Lucas so fun. Their chemistry is sizzling, and with every misstep along the way, I just wanted to shake some sense into them!

As much as I loved Lucas as a book boyfriend, I adored his big, loud family more. Rent-A-Husband is the start of a new series by Everly Ashton, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the Abbott brothers fall in love!

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Crazy In Love is a standalone romance set in the same world as SL Scott’s Never Got Over You and The One I Want. This time around, we get Harrison and Tatum’s story, who are the best friends of Nick and Natalie from NGOY and met the same night in Catalina. The book begins with that long-ago one night stand — swoon! — and then picks up four years later, in New York City, where Harrison is now living.

Needless to say, Harrison and Tatum haven’t exactly gotten along the last four years when they’ve seen one another. He really thought they had a connection that night in Catalina and was willing to try long-distance. Tatum claimed she only wanted a one-night stand, but then felt stupid that Harrison never called her after she slipped her number into his pocket. Of course, there ended up being a reason why he never called her, but she didn’t know that and has spent the last four years hating the guy she really was starting to fall for that first night they met.

While I liked the journey Tatum and Harrison went on to get to their HEA, I didn’t love it the same way I loved N&N. I don’t know why. Crazy In Love is a delicious story, full of swoony moments, heartache, makeups and breakups. But it just didn’t have the same punch-in-the-gut feeling for me that NGOY did. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed Tatum and Harrison together as a couple, and they both showed a lot of growth individually and together by the end of this story. I would still recommend it, but start with NGOY. Because getting to catch up with N&N was even better after having read their story!

Sunny Shelly’s Review: The Fine Print, by Lauren Asher

The Fine Print by Lauren Asher is now live!

Rowan
I’m in the business of creating fairy tales.
Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels.
Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland.
My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her.
Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias.
By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late.
People like me don’t get happy endings.
Not when we’re destined to ruin them.

Zahra
After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland’s most expensive ride, I should have been fired.
Instead, Rowan Kane offered me a dream job.
The catch? I had to work for the most difficult boss I’d ever met.
Rowan was rude and completely off-limits, but my heart didn’t care.
At least not until I discovered his secret.
It was time to teach the billionaire that money couldn’t fix everything.
Especially not us.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

The Fine Print was quite an enjoyable workplace, grumpy/sunshine boss romance! In the wake of his grandfather’s death, Rowan has to serve as the director of the family’s Dreamland theme park for 6 months in order to claim his inheritance and then whatever other position he wants in the family’s corporation. But this grumpy hero doesn’t count on a ray of sunshine in the princess hair salon to be the bane of his existence โ€” or his soulmate. Zahara, meanwhile, can’t believe that the grumpy grandson whom her beloved boss spoke so highly about is the same icy man stalking the halls and making her life miserable. She gets her dream job as a Dreamland Creator as a result of Rowan’s taking over the park, and as they work together on reimagining one of the park’s iconic rides, they grow closer and romance blooms. But at what cost? Has Zahara just been a pawn in his endgame to get what he really wants?

I liked the push and pull between these characters. Rowan is all icy cold because of daddy issues, and there is a really lovely scene where he finally confesses his background to her and shows some real vulnerability. Which made me hate him again when he then breaks things off with Rowan because he never wanted to fall in love and have a relationship. She really makes him grovel once he admits to being scared of love, and I appreciated that she wasn’t a doormat. Zahara stood her ground, and is as feisty as they come. Especially when she told off Rowan’s dad, Seth! Loved that scene!

I loved the behind-the-scenes peek at the theme park — clearly a ripoff of the mouse house conglomerate, but I ate up all that cheesiness and how the park and characters and the subsidiaries played into Zahara and Rowan’s story.

The Fine Print is a series starter for the Dreamland Billionaires brothers, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for this family. This is the first book I’ve read by Lauren Asher, and I will definitely be on the lookout for the subsequent books!

Sunny Shelly’s Review: One Little Mistake, by Avery Maxwell

Easton Westbrook entered my life like an arrogant, grumpy, wrecking ball, and refused to leave.

One Little Mistake, an all-new enemies-to-lovers romance from Avery Maxwell, is available now!

Our banter is addicting, and nothing I do or say will make him change his mind. But when his mind becomes focused solely on me, I run.

I canโ€™t afford to give my heart away again. Not when Iโ€™m barely surviving with the broken one I have.
I have walls up for a reason. Reasons that are none of his business, but Easton is used to getting what he wants. And when he decides he wants me, Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™ll survive it.

Lexi Heart entered my life like an arrogant, bossy, she-devil in heels, and I canโ€™t get her out of my head.
Sheโ€™s always ten steps ahead, and I have to admit, Iโ€™m intrigued. With every lash of her sharp tongue, she puts me in my place. But when I peel back the layers of her tough girl exterior, I see the broken shell sheโ€™s hiding, and my own walls come crashing down.

We quickly learn that what happens in Vegas doesnโ€™t stay there, and I know Iโ€™m done for. I want this girl in every sense of the word, but can I convince her to take a chance on us? Or will the damage from her past be too much, even for true love?

Excerpt

My phone vibrates next to me, and I can all but guarantee itโ€™ll be one of the girls. Or both of them. Lanie, Julia, and I all grew up in the tiny town of Burke Hollow, Vermont. They, and my grandmother, GG, are the only constants in my life. Glancing down, I see Iโ€™m right.

Lanie: Kick butt today at work, chica! Luvs!

Julia: She means kick ass and take names. Youโ€™ve got this!

Julia: Luvs.

Their confidence in me is comforting, but it doesnโ€™t shake off my nerves.

Lexi: Thanks, guys. Luv you both.

Julia: Just throwing this out there โ€ฆ East is pretty hot! (winky face emoji)

Lanie: They would look so cute together, wouldnโ€™t they?

Jesus Christ.

If they knew what Iโ€™ve been through, they would understand. My heart isnโ€™t up for grabs, and it wonโ€™t ever be again. My boyfriend finder is broken beyond repair. Or maybe it never worked to begin with, since Iโ€™ve only ever chosen losers.

Lexi: Donโ€™t start. That isnโ€™t an option. Not now, not ever. Do you not remember my choice in men almost got me killed?

Lanie: โ€ฆ

Julia: You canโ€™t blame yourself for Miles. You couldnโ€™t have known, but I will say this: both Lanie and I found love when we had sworn it off. You never know when it will strike.

Lexi: I do. Never. Love is a choice, and itโ€™s one Iโ€™m choosing not to make again.

Lanie: Oh, Lexi. Itโ€™s cute how you think you can control it.

Lexi: Whatever. I have to get going, or Iโ€™ll be late. Luvs.

Lanie: Luvs.

Julia: Kick his ass. Then maybe kiss it better! (Winky face kissing emoji) Luvs!

I donโ€™t respond because Julia has no filter. Her responses will only get worse if I encourage her. Instead, I pack up the lunch I made and head out the door, only to run face-first into a human wall.

โ€œLeo,โ€ I grumble. Ashton, the youngest Westbrook, decided I need to have round-the-clock security. Freaking Ash. The only reason I didnโ€™t argue is Iโ€™m pretty sure he does some messed-up shit with super-spy Loki.

Leo is my day guy, and his job just got boring as hell. Realizing I never asked him what he would do all day while I sat at a desk, I stare at him.

โ€œSomething wrong, Ms. Heart?โ€ His voice always sounds so clinical.

Tilting my head to the side, I observe him. โ€œWhat are you going to do all day?โ€

โ€œWhat I do every day, maโ€™am. Watch over you.โ€

โ€œOh, hell to the no! Do not call me maโ€™am.โ€ I jab my finger into his chest as I speak. โ€œIโ€™m not old enough for that shit. For the last time, itโ€™s Lexi. Call me Lexi or Lex. Jesus, even โ€˜girlโ€™ would be better than maโ€™am.โ€

He doesnโ€™t answer. The only acknowledgment I get is a quick nod of his head as he steps out of the way so I can lock the door. This is going to be a long day, and I already feel a migraine coming on.

We climb into the car, and the driver takes off. My girls married into some rich ass families, but I begrudgingly admit theyโ€™re amazing. I will never say that to Preston, though. Iโ€™m having a hard enough time separating them and their money from the wealth and cruelty I knew when I was with Miles.

Leaning back, I close my eyes, but the car pulls to a stop all too quickly, and I hear Leo exit the car.

Well, shit. The commute took less than five minutes. Leo opens my door, and I force myself to exit. Iโ€™m not sure what I expected, but the building before me emblazoned with โ€˜The Westbrook Groupโ€™ was not it. Maybe itโ€™s because Preston always presents himself as the playboy. Surely, heโ€™s doing something right if he is keeping a multi-billion dollar cooperation running successfully.

Maybe Iโ€™m not giving the guy enough credit. Lanie told me Preston recently rebranded Westbrook Enterprises into The Westbrook Group to better encompass the partnership with his brothers. If they can rebrand something like that, thereโ€™s no reason I canโ€™t reinvent myself to be the best damn assistant Easton Westbrook has ever seen. Right

With Leo shadowing me, I make my way to the security desk and check-in.

โ€œWelcome, Ms. Heart. Youโ€™ll be on the twenty-first floor. Your badge will allow entry from the elevator.โ€ The guard is a sweet, older man whose name tag says Sam.

โ€œThank you, Sam.โ€

He smiles kindly, and Iโ€™m on my way, not at all sure Iโ€™m ready to deal with the Westbrook Beast.

The elevator dings as it comes to a stop. Taking a deep breath, I exit the car and glance around, confused. The place is empty and dark. With tentative steps, I inch forward. Ever since Miles held me captive, Iโ€™ve struggled with dark, enclosed spaces, and I hate myself for it. I should be stronger, so I force myself forward.

โ€œIโ€™m safe. This place is safe. Leo is right behind me,โ€ I silently chant.

โ€œMs. Heart?โ€ Leoโ€™s voice calls out from behind, causing my heart to stop.

With a fist on my chest, I turn. At least he appears to feel bad for startling me.

โ€œYou are safe, Ms. Heart. They locked this building down tighter than Fort Knox. I believe Mr. Westbrookโ€™s office is to the left.โ€

โ€œTh-Thank you, Leo.โ€

He smiles and ushers me forward. As I round the corner, light spills out into the hallway from a single door at the end. Stealing a breath, I force myself forward, not really sure why Iโ€™m so nervous. Reaching the open door, I raise my hand to knock when a deep masculine voice cuts me off.

โ€œGlad to see timeliness is a priority. Come in.โ€

I canโ€™t tell if heโ€™s being an ass or genuinely complimenting me, so I keep the sass to myself. Entering the room, I realize he has yet to look up from his desk. How the hell did he know I was here?

โ€œI have excellent hearing,โ€ he states, finally lifting his gaze to mine, and it knocks the air from my lungs. Fighting to keep my face neutral, I swallow, forcing the trapped air to leave. His voice softens for the briefest moment when he says, โ€œYou are always safe here, Ms. Heart.โ€

โ€œThank you,โ€ is all I say. I donโ€™t need Easton Westbrook becoming some arrogant Prince Charming. Been there, done that.

He narrows his eyes as he considers me. Then, as quickly as it came, the warmth in his voice evaporates. โ€œI expect a lot from my employees. Iโ€™m here every day at five-thirty a.m. working out in the gym because thatโ€™s when I work through most of my problems. HR told me I could no longer force my employees to be here that early, but I will require you here by seven a.m. Monday through Friday. We work long hours.โ€

The way heโ€™s glaring at me, as if Iโ€™m a charity case, makes me insane. My inner bitch is rising, and the longer I stare at his stupid, scowling face, the more I want to set her free.

โ€œIโ€™m not afraid of hard work, Easton.โ€ My indignation is showing, and I make no attempt to hide it.

I swear his lip twitches before he locks it down into the firm, straight line Iโ€™m thinking is forced.

โ€œRight. I know we are in the precarious situation of having a connection outside of work, Lexi.โ€ He says my name as if testing out a new hot sauce, and it makes me smile. โ€œBut Mr. Westbrook will suffice here in the office. I have a laptop and phone for you. A desk will be here in a couple of days, but youโ€™ll sit in that general vicinity.โ€ Easton gestures across the room.

Is he fucking kidding me with the Mr. Westbrook bullshit?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

This is the first book in a new series, but there are interconnected characters with Avery Maxwellโ€™s last series (Broken Hearts) โ€” including Lexiโ€™s entire backstory. I liked the overall theme and story of book, but the details of Lexi and Eastonโ€™s relationship (or really, lack thereof) fell flat for me.

I empathized with what sheโ€™d lost, but I had a hard time really getting behind her as a broken heroine not knowing the details of what took place with her previously. I felt that way too much was glossed over, and there were conversations between characters that left me clueless. Were they talking about past events, or was it poor writing? I donโ€™t know because One Little Mistake is the first book Iโ€™ve read by Avery Maxwell.

I also felt like there were too many cases of being told, not shown โ€” like the โ€œepic meltdownโ€ that Lexi has on the porch. A few sentences of a flashback werenโ€™t enough to satisfy me with that. I liked Lexi as a heroine. I liked East as the hero. I loved their grumpy/sunshine combo. They both have trauma in their pasts, and I loved and how they both learned to heal from their scars with one another. They both had some serious baggage to work through, and their time apart as they did that was my favorite part of the book. I could see them working on their issues, and how they both grew from doing so. Also, I liked the chaos of the extended Westbrook family. But there were too many moments that had me going back to reread pages, thinking Iโ€™d missed something. Does this book run concurrently with others? Is it meant to be read in order? I have no idea!

One Little Mistake is tagged as a stand-alone, but I felt like there were too many pieces I was missing. There were teases set up for future books, which definitely caught my interest. Especially Ashton. So I will look for more from this series in the future, despite only giving One Little Mistake 3.5 stars. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

About Avery
Avery Maxwell is an American Romance Author who loves wine, sexy stories, pizza, and her family.

Avery is a hot mess of a mom to four wildly sweet mini-humans and two fur babies. She spends far too much time in her pj’s and trips over herself multiple times a day. Accident-prone is probably a fair assessment.

Having grown up in small-town Vermont, Avery often jokes about being the most naรฏve person in the room. Luckily, she’s used that small-town charm to write character-driven contemporary romances that have you laughing one minute, and crying the next.

When she isn’t refereeing (three little boys require a lot of whistle blowing), or cuddled up with her real-life Prince Charming, you can find her tucked away with a bottle of wine (because those steamy scenes don’t write themselves!), or coaching her daughter’s basketball team.

Avery now lives in North Carolina where she brings life, love, and a happily ever after to every character she writes.

BOOK BLURB

From bestselling author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, comes a sexy, enemies to lovers small-town romance.

A year ago, Gwen Reynolds loaned her car to the beautiful, bloodied man in her emergency room. No name. No questions. No expectation sheโ€™d see him again.

Until he shows up in the hallway of her buildingโ€ฆ moving into the apartment next door.

Chevy McIntyre is in town for one reason only: to find the men responsible for his fiancรฉeโ€™s death. Heโ€™s not looking for friends, and he doesnโ€™t need help. Especially from the neighboring angel whose bright smile has haunted his dreams for months. But his solitude doesnโ€™t sit well with Gwenโ€™s larger-than-life personality.

As Carmelโ€™s most beloved nurse, Gwen will do anything to help anyoneโ€”including the handsome recluse. So, she refuses to back down until sheโ€™s helped solve the case and healed his damaged heart.

Though thereโ€™s an undeniable spark between them, Chevy tries to fight its pull because desire has always had the power to destroy. And when the investigation takes an unexpected turn, heโ€™ll have to choose between risking his only shot at justice or losing his only chance at love.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

After literally lending a stranger her car, Gwen never expects to see him again. Much less that he’d be the grumpy guy who just moved next door. Eighteen months after his fiancee’s tragic death, Chevy is back in Carmel Cove seeking revenge — and never expects that the sweet nurse he met that awful night would be back in his life. Gwen makes Chevy feel all kinds of things that he hasn’t felt in a long time, and as much as he tries to stay focused on his quest for vengeance, he can’t stay away from her for long. But when his investigation intersects with his new romance, will Chevy lose it all again?

I felt that Beloved started out really strong — that prologue was amazing — and dragged a bit in the middle before picking back up again at the end. But the end of this story was explosive. Gwen was equal amounts sweet and sassy, and one tough cookie. I loved that about her. Chevy was every bit the brokenhearted, jaded, grumpy hero. Gwen is a healer by nature and she keeps putting herself out there time and time again while trying to help Chevy. He’s resistant to it, of course, but he can’t help but fall for the sweet nurse who rescued him more than once.

Gwen and Chevy’s journey is full of ups and downs, and it is an emotional ride to get to the end. Not just because of the guilt that Chevy is carrying around due to the death of his fiancee, but the element of suspense involved in his investigation into the drug ring/sex trafficking in Carmel Cove. The romance between Chevy and Gwen was intertwined so well with the suspense of his investigation.

I’ve read two books in the Carmel Cove series, and while there are interconnected characters, I did find that the books I’ve read stood on their own. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Emery helps Oliver lose the crowd, and they find themselves alone: two people whose paths are marked with loss and pain. However, they hold an unshakable hope for healing. They find solace together, but can their love withstand the world?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

The MixTape is a delicious, brilliant, emotional story by the marvelous Brittainy C. Cherry! I always know that her stories are going to slay me, and Emery and Oliverโ€™s story did not disappoint!

I will confess that I hated how involved his ex is in this story. Her presence in his life has a lot to do with his state of mind, but she was awful and I wish heโ€™d have kicked her to the curb long before their relationship ended so he could move forward with Emery.

Stories with two broken souls finding peace, solace, and a home in one another are totally my jam. Emery and Oliverโ€™s journey to get there was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, but Cherry, as she always does, crafted a marvelous tale for these two on their way to a happy ending.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Forbidden Lyrics, by Kelsie Rae

***Forbidden Lyrics by Kelsie Rae is LIVE!***
BlurbI didn’t know who Dove’s sister was when we first met.
I didn’t know that I’d been fooling around with her for a few months before Dove walked into my life.
I didn’t know thatโ€“โ€“if I’ve done the math correctlyโ€“โ€“I could be the father to her sister’s child.
But I do know this.
Dove has the voice of an angel, and the heart of one too.
I might not deserve her, but I refuse to let her go.
She doesnโ€™t know that I was with her sister before we met.
She doesnโ€™t know that her niece or nephew could be my freaking kid.
And even though it kills me, I canโ€™t let her find out.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Another book in the roommates series by Kelsie Rae, and Gibsonโ€™s story was a doozy.

Messy, messy, messy. I kept thinking that in my head as I read Forbidden Lyrics! The timeline of this story overlaps Model Behavior, so there are some events that we now see from Gibsonโ€™s POV โ€” and get all the details on his relationship with sweet, innocent bartender Dove. But what a mess the guy is! He thinks heโ€™s not good enough for sweet Dove, and in a way heโ€™s right. Father issues aside โ€” and Gibbs has a ton of them โ€” he is also keeping a huge piece of his past from her. Namely, that her sister Maddy is the same ex Em who he and Milo used toโ€ฆ ahem, share. And if thatโ€™s not bad enough, Em is pregnant and Gibbs doesnโ€™t know if the baby is his.

While I loved the connection between Gibson and Dove, I HATED that he was keeping the truth about Em/Maddy from her. And I hated Maddy for not telling Dove why she shouldnโ€™t date Gibson! They were both trying to protect her in their own ways, but it didnโ€™t sit right with me. By the end of the book, as Kelsie Rae sets up Maddy and Miloโ€™s story to come next, a lot of the reasons why Maddy did what she did are explained. And it kinda frees up Gibson to move forward with Dove. But it didnโ€™t sit right with me that he kept the truth from Dove for so long!

Still, I thought that this opposites attract/coworkers story was well written. Gibbs and Dove are kind of the stereotypical good girl/bad boy, but there is a lot of depth to them both as characters. And itโ€™s clear how conflicted Gibbs is about his growing feelings for her and wanting to tell her the truth even though he promised Em he wouldnโ€™t.

Both Gibson and Dove feel like they are broken people. She was raised by super conservative parents and was the do-gooder to Maddyโ€™s wild child, but Dove never felt like she was noticed for the person she is until she met Gibbs. And he is so desperate to distance himself from his famous dad that he hides himself behind song lyrics rather than using his talent in the band. Their shared love of music brings Gibson and Dove together, but will their forbidden lyrics ever be able to turn into a beautiful love song?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Decidedly With Wishes, by Stina Lindenblatt

Release Date: June 29

Bucket List Rule #1: Be careful who finds your list.

ย

Oops.

ย

ย As the future CEO of my grandmotherโ€™s fashion empire, Iโ€™m not supposed to want to design a line of fancy dresses for girls with special needs. But when I pull out all the stops and present my vision to my grandmother, she agrees to let me try on one very questionable condition.

ย

The condition?

ย

I have to complete every item on the bucket list I wrote in college.

ย

Challenge accepted.

ย

Only, this is the same bucket list that includes going on a date with a hot hockey player, riding a horse, kissing in front of the Eiffel Towerโ€ฆoh, and finding a husband.

ย

The first one is where NHL player Eli Lawson comes in.

ย

***

When my matchmaking mother sets me up with a date for my cousinโ€™s wedding, I tell her the only thing I canโ€ฆthat Iโ€™m bringing my girlfriend.

ย

Except, I donโ€™t have one.

ย

And I certainly donโ€™t have someone who will spend a week with me in Copper Creek, Montana for the wedding festivities.ย

ย

When workaholic Nala Johnson wins a date with me at a charity auction, I think Iโ€™ve found the perfect solution to my problem. Even better when she tells me about her bucket list. Because Iโ€™m just the man to help her with it.

ย

I mean, how difficult can it be to find her a husband?

Decidedly With Wishes is a Super sweet, lighthearted, entertaining fake relationship romance โ€” a perfect escape book! Nala and Eli had a great connection right from the start, and oozed chemistry. I was rooting for them as soon as they met โ€” she wins a date with him during a bachelor auction for
Charity โ€” before their fake relationship plan was even hatched!

Not only did I like the connection between Nala and Eli, but I loved the slow burn between them as they go from acquaintances to friends with benefits to more. Their banter is witty, and their blossoming romance is filled with sweet and sexy moments.

Also, I liked their relationships with the other characters. The guy is a hockey god, but a complete goofball uncle! Those moments with his nieces were super sweet to read.

Donโ€™t pass this adorable story up!
