Trying Not to Need You was perfect!
I loved Macklin’s calm, steady presence in Baylor’s life as she tried to piece herself back together following her breakup and move back home. I absolutely adored how devoted he’d been to her ALL. THOSE. YEARS. and the little things he did every day to just let her know he was there. Zero pressure. Baylor had no choice but to fall hopelessly in love with Mack and start to need him. The way he treated her was pure Boyfriend Goals compared to her scummy ex.
Stephen Dexter and Erin Mallon delivered a perfectly nuanced narration for this couple. They hit every note of the sweet and spicy and flirty as Baylor and Macklin reconnected and grew from friends to lovers.
So far, this series is definitely 2 for 2 and I can’t wait to see what comes next! I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.
