Now Live: Eleanor & Grey, by Brittainy C. Cherry

E&G - RB banner.jpg

Eleanor & Grey, an all-new beautiful and emotional standalone from Brittainy C. Cherry is available now!

Eleanor & Grey FOR WEB.jpg

Greyson East left his mark on me.

As the young girl who first fell for him, I didn’t know much about life. I did know about his smiles, though, and his laughs, and the strange way my stomach flipped when he was near.

Life was perfect…until it wasn’t, and when we were forced to go our separate ways, I held on to our memories, let go of my first crush, and wished for the day I’d find him again.

When my wish came true, it was nothing like I imagined.

I couldn’t have known when I took the nanny position that it would be his children I looked after, that my new boss would be that boy I used to know, that boy who was now a man—a cold, lonely, detached man.

The smile and laugh I had loved so much were gone, now distant memories. Every part of him was covered in a fresh pain.

When he realized who I was, he made me promise to do my job and my job only.

He made me promise not to try to get to know him, not to recall the memories I’d treasured all this time.

But, sometimes, I saw the boy I’d once known in his stormy eyes. I saw the Greyson who smiled and laughed, who had stolen a young girl’s heart, and there was no doubt in my mind that this boy was worth fighting for.

I was given a second chance with the one who’d left his mark on me. All I hoped was that somehow I’d leave a mark on his soul, too.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Shattered Stars, by Shari J. Ryan

Release Date: April 4, 2019

Cover Design: MadHat Books

Synopsis

“You will lose your memory.”
That’s what a doctor told me at just twenty-nine years old.
My headaches and exhaustion weren’t from overexertion like I thought.
It was more. A lot more.

Despite my unimaginable challenges,
I found love at a time I needed it most.
Layne, a rising star and popular frontman,
was unknowingly singing life into my soul through his allusive lyrics.
I lived and breathed for the mesmeric sound of his voice.

Kismet led us to a kind of love anyone would die for.
However, Layne shouldn’t be stuck loving me after I begin to forget him.
We will once again be strangers, separated by a crowd.
I can no longer promise him a future like the one he vowed to me.

Layne is determined to help me get better.
I’m determined to make him see past my illness.
The outcome … to be determined.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

It’s taken me a few days to write a review for Shattered Stars because I’m still in a book hangover. I devoured it over the course of a day. I could not put it down. This is such an intense story of a marriage in crisis, a woman in crisis, a husband struggling to hold on to his wife and his life slipping away. But there is also so much faith in this story, and the love between Dani and Layne is remarkable.

The story goes back and forth between the present day and when Dani and Layne met 12 years ago and how they fell head over heels in love. She was a struggling single mom, and he was on the precipice is being a major rockstar, but they clicked and never looked back. Now, they are struggling to come to terms with Dani’s illness and it is just heartbreaking.

I’m going to stop there bc I don’t want to say anything else that will ruin the story for readers. It is hard to get through at points, but I am SO GLAD that I stuck it out. Shattered Stars tore me apart, but I am so glad that I got to know Dani and Layne and take this journey with them!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews What We Left Behind, by Nikki Sparxx

Title: What We Left Behind
Author: Nikki Sparxx
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Dear Liv,
Hope this letter finds you well. Fuck, what has it been? Nine years? Ten? I guess it would be about nine since that’s how old our daughter is. She found me, Liv. She wants to meet us—both of us. I thought we should make the decision together. I can come to you or you can come home. I know your momma misses you something fierce. Let me know what you decide.

Lincoln
It’s been ten years since I left. Turned my back on my home, my family, and him. I wasn’t strong enough to salvage what was left after we gave her up. I couldn’t bear to see the look of disappointment and blame in his eyes.
I should’ve fought harder for her; for us. Now, all the feelings I spent ten years burying are beginning to resurface from one letter; one single piece of paper. I’m not sure I have it in me to face my past but I know I can’t turn my back on her again; not when I gave up so easily the first time.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Grab some tissues! Nine years after Liv and Lincoln gave up their baby for adoption, the little girl reaches out wanting to get to know her birth parents… and it brings Lincoln and Liv, who were never quite the same after giving away their daughter, back together.

The story is told from both POVs in the present day and in flashbacks, so the reader gets a real sense of what the characters were going through at the time. I really detested Liv’s dad and the way he treated her. He had so much to do with why she left Lincoln and never looked back. But I’m a sucker for a second-chance romance, and when Lincoln gets Liv back into his life, he refuses to let go.

What We Left Behind is a great story of young love and forgiveness. Liv and Lincoln never got over one another, and the “what we left behind” wasn’t just their daughter, but the immense love that they shared. This book is kind of intense, yet there are so many sweet moments between the main characters. It’s an emotional journey that will give you all the feels, complete with a HEA that Liv and Lincoln so deserve!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

J. Bengtsson gives her fans another great look inside the McKallister family in the 5th book of the Cake Series. Rogue Wave is the emotional rollercoaster of a love affair between Keith and Sam, the nerdy girl who captures his heart and changes his life.

The story unfolds over several years, starting when Keith and Sam are in high school, their breakup and what they each go through during those five years, their eventual reunion and subsequent breakup #2 five years after that. I felt like I’d been through the wringer by the time I got to the end of this marvelous book!

My heart ached for Keith. The poor guy struggles with so much: feeling like a misfit in a family of overachievers, drug and alcohol abuse, low self-esteem, feeling like he’s can’t measure up to oldest brother Mitch. His struggles with his demons are so well-described in this story. I felt his pain, felt his hope, felt his despair. And Sam’s life wasn’t much easier. JB does a fantastic job of describing the abuse Sam deals with at home, as well as what the McKallister family goes through when Jake is kidnapped. Seeing that family tragedy from Keith’s POV adds another layer to the complicated mess, and how that day affected both his and Sam’s lives was astounding.

Bengtsson is a master storyteller. I fell in love with Jake and Casey when I first read Cake, and each follow-up story has endeared this family to me even more.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

A love story that survives the test of time.

Keith McKallister is the king of the stoners. You know the type. Every school has one – the hot, fun, dopey guy beloved by the student body but despised by, well, just about everyone else. He spends his early mornings in the ocean and his days trying to get to class on time. Life is as easy as it gets until one poor choice too many catches up with him and he’s forced to reevaluate his path.

Samantha Anderson sits in the front row. You know the type. Every school has one – the quiet, faceless, studious girl who fears the taunts of her peers and fades into the background. Life has never been simple for Samantha, and it’s about to get a little more complicated when Keith slides into the seat beside her with a partnership plan designed for his benefit only. But what Keith brings to the table is more than either of them could imagine.

Sometimes the person you least expect to make a difference will change your life forever. Sometimes the person you love the most might be better off without you.

*Although a part of the Cake Series, this book can be read as a standalone.

Excerpt
In hindsight, I should’ve been less friendly. I mean, I knew nothing about the nerdy crew or where their triggers might lie, so who was to say a wave in the Star Trek crowd didn’t mean something entirely different? Smart girls were tricky like that. From what I’d gathered through trial and error, the higher the SAT score, the less impressed a female was with my overall being. Not that I had a ton of experience with them to begin with.

Typically, the honors kids refrained from interacting with me. Maybe they feared my stupidity would rub off on them, I don’t know. But what I did know was this girl, with her divided, color-coded binder and back as straight as an arrow – she was definitely part of that extra credit crowd.

“Hey there, partner.” Hair tumbled over my forehead as I tipped my head in her direction. After the day I’d had, I wasn’t feeling particularly charming, but I needed to win this girl over, and quickly. Normally I wouldn’t give two shits about someone I had zero interest in, but given the promise I’d made to my father, my priorities would need to change. People who’d been merely background players before were about to take center stage in my life. If I had any hope of passing chemistry, this little ball of tension sitting before me needed to be unraveled.

“Hey,” she answered in a voice that sounded both hesitant and hardened. There were none of those embarrassed giggles from a few days ago. It was as if the dopey conversation I’d had with her the other day hadn’t registered at all, and now I was back to square one.

Okay, first things first: establish a connection. “Sorry, I forgot your name.”

“Samantha Anderson.”

“Oh, right – Sam.”

“My name is Samantha,” she said, all business-like. “No one calls me Sam.”

I fought the urge to smile. Samantha Anderson was trying so hard to be badass, but she just didn’t have the street cred to pull it off. And even though I needed to tread lightly with this girl, I couldn’t help a little subtle teasing.

“Uh-huh. So, Sam, what did I miss?” I asked, taking my seat.

“Samantha,” she corrected once more. “And… you missed three days.”

That was not the response I’d been expecting from my straight-laced partner.

Damn, she was a ballsy little brainiac. I was impressed. Yet still, I had to call bullshit on her timeline. I knew for a fact I’d only missed two days of chemistry. “Your tally is off.”

She shook her head, the tiniest of smiles finding its way to her lips. “I counted the nap.”

About the Author
A professional stay-at-home-mom for twenty-one years, Jill started her writing career in 2016 after reading a really bad rockstar romance. Although she had no previous writing experience and no desire to become an author, Jill was convinced she could write a better story.

And so began Cake: A Love Story. She wrote the novel for fun and added every single thing she’d ever wanted to read in a romance. Embarrassed by her newfound hobby, Jill kept her writing a secret from her family.

When the story was complete, she turned to Amazon to get the feedback she desired. Not thinking the book would ever sell, Jill planned to pull Cake off Amazon once it got a review or two but that never happened because, within a week of its release, Cake began to soar up the bestseller charts. Not only was Jill shocked by Cake’s success but now she had a whole new burgeoning career on her hands… and some explaining to do. Needless to say, the news of Jill’s secret book baby came as a complete shock to her husband and three children.

Jill is now a full-time writer.

Now there was nothing holding me back. I kissed her deeply, passionately. Kissed her for every time I’d wanted to and couldn’t. For every time I’d stared at her with longing in my heart, wishing we could be where we were now.”

It’s never too late.

Loving a woman you can’t have isn’t easy. I endured the slow torture of watching Shannon Miles live a life with another man—a man who didn’t deserve her—but I don’t regret a minute of it. And I have my reasons.

Now, she’s free. No longer shackled to a loveless marriage, bound to someone who was unfaithful and heartless.

But Shannon thinks her time has passed. That she won’t get another chance at love, especially not with the man who’s been there to see it all. The hurt. The mistakes. The heartache.

If only she knew. I love that woman with everything I am, and I want nothing more in this life than to spend every moment with her.

It’s time for our happily ever after.

Gaining Miles - Teaser 1.png

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

As I’m thinking of what I want to say about Gaining Miles, it occurred to me that I am closer in age to Shannon and Ben than I am to the Miles kids! Wow!

Claire Kingsley does it again with Mama Miles’ story. Throughout the series, we’ve seen how groundskeeper Ben is so much more than just an employee. He is Shannon’s confidante, not-so-secret admirer, and has been more of a father figure to the Miles children than their own father was from the time that they were all very young. I’ve always liked Ben, so I was thrilled to see him go for Shannon and find his own mattress-burning moment!

Gaining Miles - Teaser 2.png
This novella is the perfect length for a one-sitting binge read, but it packs a powerful punch and has all of the emotions that I’ve come to expect from the Miles family series. Thank you, Claire, for giving Ben and Shannon their own moment to shine! And I can’t wait to see what comes next for the family’s half-sister, Grace!

Sunny Shelly’s Review: America’s Geekheart, by Pippa Grant

Title: America’s Geekheart
Author: Pippa Grant
Genre: Romantic Comedy

 Release Date: April 5, 2019

Blurb

Remember
that time you accidentally sexted your in-laws?
Yeah. I
just did that. Except worse. Now my million social media followers are reading
and sharing the rude, smartass message I meant to send privately to my little
sister…and I’m officially public enemy number one.
I’m Beck
Ryder. Former boy bander. Underwear model. Fashion mogul. And I just buried my
entire leg in my mouth—not just my foot—modern internet style, and publicly
insulted my sister’s neighbor.
Sarah
Dempsey.
Also known
as the woman of my dreams, who loves geeky TV shows, baseball, and giraffes,
who’s just as turned on by food as I am, and who has a huge secret that I
didn’t see coming.
Now it’s
time to grovel and apologize publicly on social media and hope that those same
followers who helped start the raging shitstorm will help calm the waters.
Because
Sarah doesn’t want the spotlight. For very good reasons that I can’t tell you
right now and trying to convince her to be my fake girlfriend to fix this mess
and make me look like less of a jackass is worse than taking a kick to the nuts
by Jackie Chan.
And I
thought modeling underwear made me feel naked.
Trying to
start a relationship in the era of the twitterazzi isn’t all that it’s cracked
up to be.
America’s
Geekheart is a rockin’ fun romantic comedy featuring a billionaire fashion
mogul who got his start modeling underwear, the geeky girl next door with a
secret the size of California, and more superstitions and secrets than you can
shake a baseball bat at. It stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
Holy smokes, was America’s Geekheart funny, funny, funny! I seriously think that Beck can give some of Pippa’s other heroes a real run for the money!

At the end of Flirting With The Frenemy, we got a tease that Ellie’s brother, former boy bander-turned-underwear model Beck had made a major gaffe. Now we find out that instead of jokingly tweeting a rude remark to his sister, he sent it to Ellie’s neighbor. And Sarah is not amused. When their meet-cute involves her tasering him, how can Beck not fall in love with her?

Beck is such a lovable doofus, but he’s sweet and gentle and kind, and sees and loves Sarah for the geeky, science-loving woman that she is. He’s been burned in the past, not knowing if women like him for him, or for his bank account and ripped body. The fact that Sarah is so unaffected by his fame is what draws him to her at the start, but there is a genuine affection for one another that forms as they pretend date to fix his rep.

The zany cast of supporting players in this book are hysterical. I love Sarah’s dad! And the cat and tutu-wearing pig were everything! Seriously, better than Nick’s cow! Nice appearance by Nick and Felicity at the open-mic comedy show that Beck and Sarah go to. I am dying to know if Mackenzie will end up with Tripp, so please make that happen, Pippa!!

BRED

A coming-of-age romance inspired by Great Expectations

By Ginger Scott

My life was irrevocably changed the moment I stepped foot inside Elena Alderman’s grand front doors. A lifeless tomb on the edge of Chicago’s South Side, the Alderman home sat in one of the city’s oldest and wealthiest neighborhoods, and Elena Alderman was the queen.

She was also mad.

Not the kind of madness that’s readily apparent. No, her psychopathy was far more surgical—more…insidious. She was surrounded by beautiful things—most notably her grand piano and her adopted son, Henry.

I fell in love with both.

My gift blossomed when my fingers touched her black and white keys. But my life began when I became haunted by the boy. Henry Alderman was a handsome blend of arrogance and seduction, and as we grew up together, I found it more and more impossible to separate him from my thoughts. I envied his life. I imagined how my name—Lily—would look with his. I became his closest friend…and more. I gave him my kiss, locked away his secrets, and loved him even when it was hard to.But we were just a game. Elena Alderman made the rules. And when she decided to change them, she broke everything.

Almost.

Excerpt from BRED By Ginger Scott

A coming-of-age love story inspired by Great Expectations

(Copyright Ginger Scott, 2019)The whistle sends a burst of adrenaline through my spine, and I jump toward the tracks before tripping over my feet in an attempt to move back. It’s several hundred yards away, the glow of the light dull through the fog that’s beginning to fill up our world.

“We should go,” I say from the bottom of the slope, the beats growing in speed and impact throughout my body. My pulse is racing the train—trying to outrun Henry and every little trap he seems to lay for my heart. I was over him.

“Just wait for it to pass. It’s safe. I promise. Stand right next to me,” he says, hand outstretched like Eve’s apple. I stare at his pink palm and pale fingers, chilly from the air now that they’ve left the comfort of his pockets. I curl mine into my sleeves as I blink at my other option for a moment.

“How do you know it’s safe?” My eyes flit up to his, and I catch his hand fall back down to his side in a defeat. His gaze sinks into mine more.

“I just do,” he says.

I try to read his lips—his blank expression and sure eyes. They’re gambling behind their green and golden mask. I look to my right, to the tracks that are only steps away, and to the growing light in the distance. A blaring whistle rings out again, twice, and it feels like a warning for more than just this little game of truth or dare. The ground beneath me vibrates with indecision, and as each second passes, my nerves wrangle around my chest, squeezing my lungs of air. I look to Henry again, his face unchanged, so sure that I’ll give in, so certain that we’ll be safe here.

The thunder against the tracks picks up, the rhythm like a chase as the train races toward us, barreling at a threatening pace. I turn my back to it slowly and retrace my steps back to where I was a minute or two before, my eyes locked on Henry’s. My hands are sweater-covered fists at my sides, and his are relaxed, looped by his thumbs into his front pockets. The trees around us begin to sway, sticks bending where leaves used to rustle months ago. Henry’s jawline glows with the reflection of the incoming light, and my hair falls loose at the sides of my face, tangled curls slapping at my cheeks and causing me to blink. Every time I open my gaze, though, Henry is there waiting—daring.

He lifts his chin as his smirk grows, and even though my mouth itches to do the same, I’m too overcome with fear to match him. My eyes close tight just before the train rushes by, and I steady my legs, only stumbling a bit when the first gust slams into my body. Slaps of wind push against me so hard I have to lean into the force, and my chest booms with every thud of metal along metal only feet away from me.

When the sound begins to ease, I open my lids and catch the last few cars rush by. My body is sucked forward a step or two at the very end, and I stumble into Henry’s outstretched palms, his hands on my forearms and a proud smile curving his mouth. My hair is flung in wild strands over my face, but before I can clear them away, Henry’s hands slide up my shoulders to my neck and then cheeks, sweeping my hair behind both ears as his thumbs take gentle strokes. My skin is electrified—in an instant I’ve gone from one rush to the next. Raw from sharing my past and learning more about Henry, alive from adventure, and terrified by wanting something to happen next now that Henry is near.

“We should get back,” he says, tucking one last blonde strand behind my ear before both of his hands fall away, retreating all the way back to his pockets.

Marcus

Moving in with my little sister’s best friend isn’t the brightest thing I’ve ever done. In fact, I’m pretty sure you can have me committed for accepting the offer. I’ve been in love with her for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been able to keep my hands to myself for all these years. But now? Now, she’s moving on without me and I’m scrambling to keep up without letting her slip through my fingers when she’s always felt out of reach.

I’m going to fight for her.

I just hope I’m not too late.

Natalie

The guy I’ve been in love with since I was a little girl is officially shacking up in my spare bedroom. Pretty sure I’m breaking every rule in the book by having him sleep under my roof, but it doesn’t matter anymore. Not when I’ve already let go of my silly crush to pursue other dreams that don’t involve a sexy guy who has only ever seen me as his little sister’s shadow.

No, it’s time to let him go and move on.

I just hope I can.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

I am absolutely loving Kelsie Rae’s Signature Sweethearts series! The push and pull between Marcus and Natalie in this book was everything. They have both been in love with the other for so long, but neither one of them has ever ‘fessed up. Natalie didn’t think that he saw her as anything other than Sophie’s shadow, and Marcus was too stuck on the fact that Natalie is his sister’s best friend and how him dating her would affect the girls’ relationship.

Now that Sophie has moved in with Nathan and Marcus and Natalie are reluctant roommates, things shift between them. The scene with Luke from Book 1, Liv, was one of my favorite parts. I loved what Luke said to Marcus about regrets and how it kind of pushed him into finally making a move. Of course, that comes just as Natalie had finally decided to do something for herself, and it will have a major impact on their future.

I love a slow burn romance and this was a fabulous one. The sexy times are implied, but not described (as with all of Kelsie’s books) — and it makes no lick of a difference. The relationship between Marcus and Natalie is wonderfully described, and I loved how they progress from both thinking that their feelings were unrequited to being in a full-blown relationship.

Since these books are all interconnected standalones, there are glimpses of some of the other couples as well, which I always enjoy seeing when I’m reading a series.

Overall, this was a wonderful feel-good best friend’s brother story! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

CHECK OUT THIS EXCERPT:

As I grasp the handle, I close my eyes and slowly count to ten.

By the time I reach seven, I nearly jump out of my skin when an onslaught of banging erupts from the other side.

“Coming!” I yell, louder than necessary.

“Any day now!” he shouts back.

The sound of his voice also does funny things to me. Rolling over me like hot honey, causing a slight burn that I want to pull away from, only for it to be soothing and sweet the next minute.

Damn him.

Shaking my head, I twist the handle and pull the door open.

I quirk my brow before folding my arms over my chest and leaning against the jamb. “Patience is a virtue, Marcus. Maybe you should try it sometime.”

“Why hello to you too, Noogie. Are you going to invite me in?”

“I haven’t decided yet.”

My comment causes a deep laugh to escape him. “Well, at least you’re being honest. Where’s my sister?”

I shrug my shoulder. The motion causes my oversized sweatshirt to slide down my shoulder, revealing a few inches of skin.

His gaze zeroes in on the exposed flesh, burning me for a solid one-Mississippi before he glances past me like I’m no more than a fly in his soup.

Cover up, Noog. No one needs to see that.” And with that, he takes a step toward me, making me take a step back and giving him the space to enter. It’s like some sick kind of dance that neither of us can control.

“Don’t be an ass,” I admonish him.

“I’m not. Just being honest.”

“It’s a freaking shoulder, Marcus. I’m pretty sure you have them too.” My voice is thick with sarcasm, though it doesn’t stop me from checking out his ripped muscles through his damn jacket.

Seems he’s been working out lately.

Bastard.

I take a second to really look at him, taking note of all the subtle changes that have happened since I last saw him. It’s only been a couple months since he crashed Indie’s wedding in the Maldives to rescue his baby sister from the big bad wolf––aka Nathan––after she found out she was pregnant. But the entire event was such a blur that I feel like it doesn’t really count.

And if that event doesn’t count, then the last time I saw him would probably be during the championships of Gateway Guardians, a video game that Marcus gets paid to play professionally.

Yes. You heard that right. Marcus gets paid to play video games.

Cue eye roll.

Tilting my head to the side, I notice that his man bun is missing and his hair is now closely cropped to his head on the sides, leaving it a little longer on the top. I’d like to say it makes him uglier, but I’d only be lying to myself.

Dammit.

“Why’d you cut your hair?” I ask before mentally slapping my forehead.

He smirks cockily at me. “Noticed, huh?”

I roll my eyes. “It’s hard not to when I’m used to a giant man bun being tossed in my face every time I see you.”

He shrugs, mirroring my motion from only a moment before, then sets his duffle bag on the floor behind the couch.

Sophie and I moved into this apartment about six months ago, and it’s been amazing. The location isn’t fantastic, and the furniture is all second-hand, but it’s New York City, for crying out loud!

I couldn’t have been happier when the manager placed the brass keys in my hand after I signed the lease.

The lease that would feel a heck of a lot like a ball and chain only a few months later, when my best friend, and co-leaser, decided to get knocked up on a one-night stand.

At least everything worked out for them. Now, I just need it to work out for me.

I release a soft sigh of defeat when Marcus‘s shoe squeaks against the hardwood floor, grabbing my attention.

“So where’s my sister?” he asks again. I’m not exactly surprised by the abrupt subject change. It’s what he does.

“Late.” There’s no need for further explanation. The girl is always late.

He nods his head knowingly before heading to the fridge like he owns the place and peeking inside.

“Where are your groceries?” he asks when he comes up empty.

I shrug, causing my sweatshirt to slide down all over again. The moment feels like a terrible rendition of the same scenario only a few minutes before. Hastily, I push the fabric up when I see him looking at me with fire in his eyes as he stares a hole in my previously exposed shoulder.

“I’ve been eating out lately,” I defend.

It’s only a partial lie. I have been eating out lately. When I have time to eat at all. And when I can afford it.

Okay, maybe I haven’t been eating as much as usual.

His eyes narrow as he scans me from head to toe. “Well, you obviously aren’t eating enough.”

My jaw drops. “I’m sorry…what was that?”

He lifts his chin in my direction before continuing. “You’ve lost weight since the last time I saw you. Don’t tell me you’re trying a new diet or some bullshit. I swear—”

I stomp closer before lifting my finger and poking him in the chest. “Say one more word, and I’ll neuter you, Marcus. I can take care of myself. And who the hell do you think you are? If I want to try a new diet, then I’m going to try a new freaking diet.”

He tilts his head to the side, assessing me for a split second before scoffing. “See? This is why I knew it was a bad idea for you guys to move here. My sister ends up pregnant, and her friend is withering away from some fad diet. You’re curvy, Natalie. Get over it. Not everyone is meant to be a stick.”

I lift my hand to slap him right in his stupidly attractive face when the hinges squeak on my front door.

Dropping my arm a fast as I can, I jump away from Marcus like he has cooties.

Dammit.
