What He Always Knew by Kandi Steiner
Release Date: March 29th, 2018
What He Doesn’t Know Duet, book 2
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Left or right.
It’s that simple, and it isn’t simple at all.
If I turn left, the road will lead me back to the man I promised my life to, the one I’d imagined building a family with, the one who’s done everything in his power to get me back.
If I turn right, the road will take me to the man I loved first, the man who brought me back to life, the man who would do anything to keep me.
I knew the fork in the road was inevitable; it was the decision I never wanted to make between choices I didn’t know I had.
And I love them both.
My heart is destined to exist in two equal halves — one with each man. But one half beats stronger, the vein running deepest, and holds my choice in silence long before I know it for myself.
The realization of what I have to do, of the heart I have to break, just might break mine too.
Left or right.
All I have to do is take a breath and turn.

The conclusion to this raw, emotional duet was absolutely stunning. This love triangle had me on the edge of my seat, and I honestly didn’t know up until the moment Charlie decided whether she was going to choose Cameron or Reese. And even after she made her decision, I was still in disbelief.
There is much I can tell you about the plot of this story, what I liked, what I didn’t. But I won’t do that, because it would ruin the majesty that is What He Always Knew. It’s a raw, gritty look at a crumbling marriage, how a lack of communication puts up walls between a couple who vowed to love one another forever and a day. It makes you think, wonder about what you would personally accept from your partner, what you would accept from yourself, and the excuses we make for ourselves and for others.
This duet is a brilliant masterpiece, full of angst, full of all the feels, full of hope and promise and self-loathing and forgiveness.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).
When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.

A Wilde Players Series Standalone Spin-off Novel
Chase Wilde and Andie James were teenage sweethearts, who hid their relationship from their brothers and families for years. When Chase gets the chance of a lifetime to play soccer/football in a Europe, Andie doesn’t want to make him choose between his career or her. So she keeps a big secret from her family, cutting them out of her life for several years.
When Chase decides its time he wins Andie back, her past comes crashing in to her present, forcing her to face her mistakes.
Their relationship hits some bumps, but Chase and Andie are forced to find a common ground and work as a team, which ultimately reunites them.
Overall, the story was good, but there are a few things that are holding me back from a higher review. I felt like their breakup was kind of glossed over, and then after chase tracks her down again, there was no real discussion of the misunderstandings between them as far as the people they thought the other was dating. His ex just gave up, just like that? I was hoping for more drama there. There were a lot of discussions that I wish the reader was privy to. But despite these issues, I still greatly enjoyed the story.

36 hours is a short spell when racing the clock.
2,160 minutes is an eternity for old friends to fall in love…
August Cruz is the only man I’ve ever loved.
He’s the one who got away.
He’s the one I totally screwed over.
Now he’s standing on my doorstep, nine years later, but he’s not the only thing that turns up. My mother’s lost diary is in my hands, and it might lead me to my father. A possibility I wished for one year ago, at my last birthday.
I have 36 hours to fulfill that wish.
I have 36 hours to drag August on a wild scavenger hunt.
I have 36 hours to protect my heart before I lose him again…because there’s something he’s not telling me.
LICKS is a full-length, standalone Sexy Second Chance Romance with a swoony Happily Ever After.
August was a slight step ahead of me. I followed close on his heels until we were outside. We paused, fingers intertwined. He faced me and ran his thumb over the back of my hand. It was a simple brush, but there was nothing simple about touching August.
We both glanced at our clasped hands. My breath faltered. The past few days had been warm for April, the heatwave steaming the evenings, too. Being with August made it steamier.
He wound both our arms around my back, pulling me against him. “You look beautiful, Possum.”
His nickname for me pinched my heart. As kids, I’d pretend to sleep sometimes while we’d watch TV, like a deceiving possum playing dead. I’d then bolt upright to scare the living shit out of him. A screeching August was supremely entertaining.
I tilted my head back to look into his eyes, every memory we’d shared reflected in those hazel pools. “I’ve missed that nickname.”
His free hand came to my cheek, knuckles brushing it gently. “I’ve missed you. It was always there, under my skin, in every song, but I didn’t realize how much until today. My heart is fucking racing.”
God, this man. I squeezed our laced palms and unfurled my other over his sternum. Over his heart. Need bellowed in that thundering beat. “You don’t smell like grass.”
He wrinkled his nose. “I used to smell like weed?”
“Like grass, dummy. Your lawn mowing business.”
He smiled and shook his head lightly. “We can roll around in a park, if you want.” He sucked on his bottom lip while eyeing mine.
Lord have mercy. “I can’t believe this is happening.”
“Oh, it’s happening.” He gripped my hand tighter, pulled me closer, brushed his nose against mine.
My best friend, the friend I loved irrevocably and thought I’d lost for good, might actually kiss me.

The girl code “Chicks before d*cks” should include that no friend can steal another friend’s boyfriend—or marry them.
When Ashton Carter’s “good idea at the time” revenge plan lands her in hot water, she never expected to see her ex again—especially in court. A few thousand dollars in damages later, she snags a job as a phone sex operator and seeks out a roommate to help fund her “stay out of jail” expenses. Having a roommate should’ve been helpful—except when they turn out to be the hot, yet douchebag mechanic working on her car.
When Ashton learns that her new roommate has been the sexy phone sex caller, lines begin to blur between real life and fantasy. It was supposed to be a no-strings-attached situation; neither of them were ready for love again. When a surprise visit from an ex shakes their forming foundation with an ultimatum, Ashton is forced to face the truth of her feelings and make a choice. With her budding relationship and livelihood at stake, Ashton has to untangle the lines of reality and fantasy in a last ditch effort to protect her heart.

His sweatpants from earlier were replaced by a pair of dark blue, deliciously fitting blue jeans and a snug grey, deep V-neck shirt. Jesus. The man was absolutely gorgeous. His shirt fit as if it were body paint, molding the muscles in his chest and shoulders. His pants encased his strong thighs, which slightly flexed as he turned in different angles to show me his outfit.
“Don’t drown yourself in drool, girl. I’m not too familiar with CPR,” he joked, his hazel eyes twinkling in amusement.
I blinked and focused my gaze on his smug expression. Even though I did think he looked damn good, he’d never know about it, the cocky bastard.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” I scoffed, plucking a few more grapes from the bag.
He chuckled. “Hey, I can read body language, baby. You got that ‘fuck me’ stare going on.”
“First, I’m not your baby. Second, as fucking if,” I said, bringing my eyes to the bag of grapes. I wouldn’t necessarily say I wanted him to fuck me, but…the thought wasn’t too far off.
“Seriously though, what do you think? Too casual for a bar? Not casual enough? Too tight looking?”
I snorted. “Oh, it’s tight enough.”
“So too tight?”
“Eh, it’s fine.”
“Fine?” He groaned. “Fine isn’t good enough. Now I need to go change.” He turned and headed toward his room.
“God, and I thought I was a diva,” I teased. He turned and looked at me, a slight frown settling on his full lips.
“What’s wrong with wanting to look good, Satan?”
“Nothing. I just didn’t take you to be the particular type,” I replied with a smirk.
“Well, I like to look good, especially when going to places for the first time.”
“Fair enough,” I replied. “Then it looks good, Mr. Diva.”
He grinned. “Like sexy good or ‘it’s fine’ good?” he asked, ignoring the nickname I gave him.
I rolled my eyes. “Don’t be so obvious in fishing for compliments.”
“Just a simple question.”
“Fine. Sexy good. Now go away.”
His grin turned into a full smile. “So you think I’m sexy then?”
I scowled. Of course he’d try to twist the meaning of my words. “Your outfit, yes. You? Still questionable.” Though it wasn’t questionable. We both knew he looked good, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.
He tsked and shook his head. “You’re ice cold, A.”
“Glad we established that early,” I said and turned back to my grapes.
He smirked. “Anyway, not sure when I’ll be back, so do you have a house key or something I can use? I don’t want to wake you,” he said.
“Oh shit. I knew I forgot something,” I muttered mostly to myself. “You can borrow mine and I’ll get you one made tomorrow.”
“Sounds legit, Satan.”
“It’s Ashton.”
“You got it, Satan.”
