Release Blitz: P.S. I Hate You by Winter Renshaw is Now Live!

Dear Isaiah,

Eight months ago, you were just a soldier about to be deployed and I was just a waitress, sneaking you free pancakes and hoping you wouldn’t notice that my gaze was lingering a little too long.

But you did notice.

We spent a “week of Saturdays” together before you left, and we said goodbye on day eight, exchanging addresses at the last minute.

I saved every letter you ever sent, your words quickly becoming my religion.

But you went radio silent on me months ago, and then you had the audacity to walk into my diner yesterday and act like you’d never seen me in your life.

To think … I almost loved you and your beautifully complicated soul.

Almost.

Whatever your reason is—I hope it’s a good one.

Maritza the Waitress

PS – I hate you, and this time … I mean it.

There’s no denying something’s there, something that makes my heart trot when he looks at me, something that makes me slick on an extra coat of lip balm or an extra spritz of perfume before dashing out the door to meet him.
And while I’m the one who made the rules—no romance and only honesty at all times—I’m the one who can’t stop thinking about what would happen if we broke one of them.
Only problem is, I have zero idea if he’s thinking what I’m thinking. He’s so even-keeled and emotionally guarded, but they say actions speak louder than words and the fact that he’s here, spending time with me doing stupid shit has to count for something … right?
“Why are you staring like that?” Isaiah asks when he turns around.
My cheeks warm. I’d been spacing off. “No reason.”
“Bullshit. You can’t lie, remember? Tell me what you were thinking about.” His lips draw into a playful smirk, and I can’t decide if I like his mysterious side or his spirited side best. It’s like trying to choose between white chocolate and milk chocolate, which are both delicious in their own ways.
“You don’t want to know.”
And I’m serious. He doesn’t want to know that I’m thinking about him in a way that I was determined not to. Besides, he’s leaving in a few days. There’s no point in ruining the rest of our time together by making this situation unnecessarily complicated.
“Try me,” he says, his stare boring into me. Something tells me he’s not going to let this go.
Giving myself a moment, I gather my thoughts and nibble on my lower lip. “I was just thinking about connections.”
“Connections?” His hands rest on his hips, his shoulders parallel with mine. I have his full, undivided attention.
“I was just thinking about how I hardly know you, but I feel connected to you,” I say, cringing on the inside but fully embracing the discomfiture of this conversation.
He says nothing, which doesn’t make this moment any less awkward for the both of us.
“You asked!” I remind him, throwing my hands up.
Another moment passes, the two of us lingering next to some hairy elephant-looking creature with a long-as-hell scientific name as a group of children runs past us.
“Now I want to know what you’re thinking about.” I nudge his arm. “It’s only fair.”
He smirks, then it fades, and he gazes into the distance. It’s like there’s something on the tip of his tongue, but if I push or prod too much, he’ll never share it.
“Nothing, Maritza. I was thinking about nothing.”
I don’t buy it, but I don’t press any further. I want to burn this awkward moment into a pile of ash and move on.
“Are you going to remember me after this week?” I ask after a bout of silence.
His golden irises glint as his eyes narrow in my direction. “What kind of question is that?”
“A legit one,” I say. “Will you remember me? Or am I always just going to be that waitress girl that you hung out with for a week?”
“Don’t think I could forget you if I tried.” He speaks in such a way that I’m not sure if what he’s saying is a good thing or a bad thing. “Can I be honest right now?”
“You must. It’s a requirement.”
Isaiah’s tongue grazes his full lips for a quick second and he holds my gaze for what feels like forever. “I don’t want to make this any more confusing for either of us, but I feel like kissing you right now.”
I fight a smile. I don’t want to smile. I want to scoff at him and tell him to stop being such a hypocrite.
But that’s only half of me.
The other half of me wants him to kiss me, wants his hands in my hair and his taste on my tongue just one more time because we’ll never have this moment again and once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.

Cover Reveal: Star, by BB Easton

Today we have the cover reveal for STAR by BB Easton! Check out this beautiful cover today and signup for the release alert!

Title: STAR
Author: BB Easton
Series: 44 Chapters
Release: April 12, 2018

About STAR

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her best-selling, award-winning memoir, 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy stand-alone. STAR is Hans’s book—a real-life rock star romance…with a twist.

In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming. He was the tall, tattooed, wickedly handsome bass player for the up-and-coming rock band, Phantom Limb. But, more importantly, he was hers. She knew it the moment he flashed her that shy, dimpled smile.

And he knew it too.

Hansel “Hans” Oppenheimer wore his heart on one sleeve and scrawled lyrics about BB on the other. Unlike the assholes of her past, he showered her with tenderness, took her places she’d never been before, and showed her the type of all-consuming love she’d thought only existed in fairy tales.

But, like any good fairy tale, BB’s road to happily ever after was paved with challenges, and right when she least expected it…it forked.

In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming.

In 2000, she met her soul mate.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Man Handler, by Shari Ryan

Release Date: March 28, 2018

Cover Design: MadHat Books

Synopsis

Scarlett

Blytheville, South Carolina—have you heard of it? No? Yeah, neither had I, until today. Want to know why? It’s in the middle of nowhere, and I’ve been given the ultimatum of either living on the street in Boston or accepting a job transfer down to this blank spot on the map where people say things like: “Bless Your Heart,” “Over Yonder,” and “I reckon.” Oh, and they don’t cuss, which makes survival a bit challenging for me with my flavorful vocabulary.

I’ll cut to the chase. On day one of my new Southern lifestyle, I land myself in the hospital and meet Austin, one of the two nurses on staff. I would consider this guy absolutely gorgeous if I were into the whole tanned, smokey-blue eyes, and messy sex-hair look, but I’m … not. Okay, I’m lying. If Austin wasn’t my type before, he definitely is now. However, I was sort of rude to him. While I’m sure my first impression was probably my last, maybe I can turn on a little Southern charm (if I can figure out how to do that) and change his mind.

Austin

This chick is crazy, hot as hell, and more wound up than a taunted wild animal. I might be out of my mind, but I’m intrigued by her short temper and lack of filter.

She thinks I’m just funny and sweet as pie, which I know annoys her, but she hasn’t spent time with me outside of work yet, so she doesn’t know I can dish out more than she can take. Miss Scarlett thinks she’s tough and intimidating because she’s from big, bad Boston, but she’s about to learn how things really go down in the South.

The question is, will Scarlett and Austin ever see to eye-to-eye, or will they give up the fight long enough to see what they’ve been missing?

Goodreads

 Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Another great romcom from Shari Ryan in her Man Cave series. These books are complete, unconnected standalones, so there is no particular reading order. In Man Handler, brassy, sassy Bostonian Scarlett finds herself relocating to Bodunk, SC, for work, where she meets the town’s most eligible bachelor, Austin. She has an instant connection with the male nurse, as much as she doesn’t want to like him or anything about the small town. But over and over again, Austin seems to come to Scarlett’s rescue, and a friendship of sorts begins to develop. Even though Austin had vowed to not fall in love or have a relationship, he soon finds that Scarlett is his perfect match. The Yin to his Yang. The female version of him.

The banter between them is witty, and the secondary characters are quite enjoyable. I liked the stories in Man Servant and Man Flu better, but Man Handler was still an fun, romantic, sassy, sexy story, written in Ryan’s signature style. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Come A Little Closer, by Kim Karr

Title: Come A Little Closer
Author: Kim Karr
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 28, 2018

Blurb

I haven’t always been this bad…

Up until recently, I was the kind of girl who wore white cotton panties
and bent at the knees rather than the waist.

Pomp and circumstance changed all that.

Jaxson Cassidy was my first taste of bad, and I liked it more than I
should have. Just not in the way I was meant to. I couldn’t help myself though.
I found him irresistible. That sexy grin, those skilled fingers, and that
dirty, dirty mouth were a lethal combination.
I wasn’t supposed to want him. I wasn’t supposed to let him put his
hands on me. I wasn’t supposed to do a lot of things…but I did.
He wants to keep me close.
I should push him away.
He says he can help me.
I’m not so sure.
For some reason, he thinks there’s good left in me.
What if he’s wrong?
Everyone knows a good boy can’t turn a bad girl around.
Everyone knows it’s always the other way.
Everyone…except him.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Remember Jules’ poor ex, Jaxson, from The Thing About Love? He gets his own story in Come A Little Closer! Things with Jaxson and Sadie definitely get off to a rocky start, and this story is full of twists and turns as they struggle to get their footing as a couple.

This book has a bit of a mystery to it that KK’s other books don’t have when it comes to the reason why Sadie is on the run. She’s not a bad person; she’s just made a bad decision. But will Jaxson forgive her for that?

This story is a bit thrilling, a whole lot sexy, lots of fun — and takes the reader to some wonderful tropical locales. Plus, we get to catch up with Jules and Jake, so score!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Widow.

Poppy expects going through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn’t expect is Cole. Could the man who delivered the news of her husband’s death and shattered her heart be the one to help her put it back together again?

“That’s quite a list.” Cole nodded toward the journal in between bites.

“It is.” My smile faltered at the way his jaw hardened.

“Are you planning on doing these all by yourself?”

“Um, yes.” How else was I going to get through them all?

“That’s going to take a while.”

“I hope not,” I sighed. “My goal is to get them done before New Year’s.”

“What?” His spoon dropped into the jar, clinking against the glass. “That’s less than six months away.”

“I know.” Just thinking about all I still had to do made my shoulders fall. “I thought I could do it, but with the restaurant and some of the bigger things on the list, it will take longer. I was really hoping to have it done before Jamie’s birthday.”

That seemed impossible now. With the restaurant and all of the other things I was adding to my daily schedule, piling on more was going to wear me thin. If I didn’t let up, my self-imposed deadline would stress me to the max.

Which meant it would take just that much longer to put this list behind me. Could I do it if I added another year? Maybe two?

I didn’t have to do this all so soon. But I wanted to. I wanted to do this for Jamie and let it go. Every day, I was getting stronger. I was getting back on my feet. I was starting to live again—for me.

And until the list was done, I’d still be living for Jamie.

“Look.” Cole leaned his elbows on the table. “I don’t want to step on your toes. This is an awesome list and he had some cool ideas. If you want to do them on your own, I understand. I get that this is incredibly personal. But if you’d like, I’d be glad to help you with some of these.

“What?” I didn’t know what made me smile more. That he thought Jamie’s list was cool or that he wanted to help. Regardless, I was beaming. “You’d really help?”

Cole’s eyes were sparkling again. “In a heartbeat.”

Who doesn’t wear a tie to a gala? Tab kept her opinions to herself.
Colin barged in before Sabrina got a chance to say hi to her old friend.
“The twin Miss Buxtons. So lovely, both of you. I’d like you to meet my employer and friend, Mr. Sean Drake and his old friend Mr. Jason Carlton. This is Sabrina and Tabitha. Tab is on the board of the charity so probably off to check on dinner soon.” Colin rocked back on his heels.
“I can’t believe it’s you,” Sabrina said.
“Of course, you know Mr. Carlton from his movies and fame. Isn’t it nice of him to leave Hollywood for a bit and visit normal people?” Colin gushed.
“No, Colin, we’ve met. Sabrina. I can’t believe we never exchanged numbers.” Jason hugged her.
Tab tried to conceal her surprise but caught Sean Drake watching her with a bemused hint of a smile. He was not shocked.
“How do you know my sister?” Tab asked.
Sab pulled back slightly. “We met in Paris. On my art tour. He has a wonderful eye.”
“I’m sure he does. Nice to meet both of you. Have you been to Nantucket before?” Tab asked.
“No, it’s more rustic than I imagined,” Sean replied coolly.
Tab bit her tongue.
“It’s my first time but I’m glad Sean dragged me. It’s charming.” Jason stared at Sab. “Would you like to dance?”
Sab blushed. “There isn’t any music yet.”
“I’ll ask them to start. It’ll only be instrumental until after dinner.” Tab loved an excuse to get away.
“I’ll do it, Tab. Happy to help.” Sab led Jason away.
Some sister, leaving her with Colin and a stranger. Tab took a deep breath.
“What business are you in, Sean?” Tab could play the small talk game when she needed to but it was easier when the other person seemed more interested. Sean looked about the room as though he were analyzing every detail.
“I’m very diversified in my holdings. Real estate is at the core. But I’m here on vacation. Colin goes on about this place so much I had to see it. He is right, it feels like I’m nowhere near Boston or any big city.”
“Hopefully it’s the break you need. There is swimming, boating, and plenty of beaches. Also, a bit of history and charming old architecture.” Tab tried her best.
Sean nodded. “Colin is a big proponent of the island.”
She sighed. “Well, I should check on things. Dinner will soon so if you need help finding your table, just grab one of us. Excuse me.”
“Wait, Tabitha. I would like a dance with you after the dinner. Old times’ sake.” Colin winked.
Tabitha repressed a shudder and reminded herself that Colin’s aunt, Mrs. Monroe, was on the board of the charity with Tab. “Certainly. See you then.”
The room had been flooded with people in jewels bragging about the market and their portfolios or latest acquisitions.
Sab and Jason had been joined on the dance floor by a few other eager couples.
Tab found Mrs. Peters. “Dinner ready?”
“Yes, but let them finish this one song and I’ll announce things. Welcome people.” Mrs. Peters patted Tab’s arm. “Go sit with your family. Or that handsome man you were talking to.”
“Handsome but not very friendly,” Tab replied.
“Shame.” Mrs. Peters waved Tab off.

The only problem with that theory is even though he came back, he always left again.
How much heartache can one heart take?
How much rejection can one person take?
