A Temporary Experiment was so, so cute! Grant and Emma’s best friends/secret crush/fake dating romance has all the makings of a feel-good holiday movie!
Emma and Grant have been best friends for 17 years. When Grant needs a girlfriend to get his mother off his back, Emma agrees to play the part while they visit his family for the holidays. For Grant, Emma has always been “it” so he doesn’t have to do much to pretend that he’s head over heels in love with her. In fact, it’s almost torturous for the poor guy. And soon, Emma realizes that the guy she’s always wanted has been right in front of her for years…
This is the first book I’ve read by Samm Wilde, and it was so lovely. These characters were so well-written, and nothing about the fake relationship felt forced. I liked that these two had an established history, and the slow burn between them led to a great payoff once they finally, finally crossed that line.
