A scavenger hunt in Las Vegas leads to a wild night between Carrie and James — and she wakes up the next morning with a marriage certificate in her hotel room and the groom no where to be found. It isn’t long before Carrie does find James — standing across from her in his office, as the new owner of the hotel she works for and about to fire her.
This was a really cute, easy to read, instalove story. Low angst, a bit of ex-girlfriend drama, and a fun chase by James as he sets out to convince Carrie to give him a shot. She’s been burned by her boss/ex before, and doesn’t want to repeat her past mistakes when she realizes that James is her new boss. But they can’t stay away from one another.
James is a swoony hero. He’s a fixer, a rescuer. Not only did he fix the family business and rescue his family from debt, but he legit swoops in to save Carrie from a groper at a poker table in an adorable meet-cute.
