(He never actually agreed to the terms of the bet placed by his teammates, so that gained him some major points in my opinion.) Ryker and Penelope grow closer as he helps her capture the attention of her crush, Connor. But it’s quickly clear that Ryker is the one that the vampire-loving, historical fiction reading bookworm really wants.
Ilsa Madden-Mills has a real knack for writing likable, enjoyable characters. Even when the guys seem to be jerks, there are traces of nice guys deep down. And all of the Twilight-inspired moments that Ryker gives to Penelope? That Baby Llama wouldn’t have put in the time had he not been completely smitten.
I hope that there’s a story coming down the pike for Connor and Margo! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
