Wingman is an enjoyable second book in the Rascals series. I honestly wasn’t sure how much I would like it going in — because I loved Alex and Emerson so much from Rascals (#1), and the sexy lessons-turned-friends with benefits trope isn’t my favorite. But the feelings that grew between Chase and Kelsey happened so organically.
In love with her boss, Justin, forever, Kelsey hits up manwhore Chase — one of the Rascals bar owners and head bartender — for sexy lessons. To be her wingman. Of course, their relationship develops into a no-strings-attached friends-with-benefits one, and despite everything their friends warn them of, they both start to develop feelings for one another. But Chase thinks Kelsey is still into Justin. And she’s bummed out by the sudden return of Chase’s gorgeous ex-girlfriend, the woman who broke his heart and turned him off of relationships forever.
The friendship between the characters is relatable, and they are likable as the hero and heroine. And after some of those visits with her mom, I wanted to take Kelsey out for a few drinks! That woman is brutal! This book was a low-drama, low-angst read, a perfect fluff story for a day at the beach or by the pool. I can’t wait to see what KM has in store for the other guys in the group — especially Dante and Hayley! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
