Teasing me with a mischievous, merciless grin by day.
Crawling through my window with tear-stained cheeks by night.
I was ordered to avoid her.
Lectured on her misdeeds.
Forbidden from seeing her.
But my need to protect her was innate, so natural I never
questioned it.
So visceral I couldn’t fight it.
She was the first rule I ever broke, and it’s why I lost her the
first time.
Now, out of nowhere, there is Sav Loveless.
World famous front woman for The Hometown Heartless, Hollywood’s newest up-and-coming film star, and my daughter’s idol.
Her reputation for trouble precedes her, but the celebrity who sets foot in my small town is no longer a girl in need of protection.
She’s a woman who has saved herself, and this time, it’s my life that’s falling apart.
Maintaining the distance between us is imperative, but everything about her pulls at every part of me.
My need to touch her clouds my logic.
My need to have her, to own her, to love her.
She’ll be the last rule I ever break,
but this time, it will be to keep her.

Between Never and Forever is an angsty and spicy standalone contemporary romance. It follows rockstar, single father, small town, and second chance tropes, and has a guaranteed HEA.
This book contains content that may be considered in appropriate for readers under 18.
Between Never and Forever is full of angsty goodness! Savannah and Levi’s story is full of heartache and heartbreak. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and missed opportunities and I loved every minute of it!
Savannah and Levi were childhood best friends; the girl from the wrong side of the tracks and the preacher’s kid. Her home life was awful and everyone around town knew it. But Levi’s life wasn’t much better behind closed doors. They found comfort and support in one another, and Levi did all he could to protect Sav when they were teens.
There’s a time jump after Sav runs away when they reconnect three years later, and it seems like it is finally their time to be together. But she is on the precipice of making it big with her band, and a major life twist is about to change everything for Levi. The bulk of the story picks up when there’s another time jump and Sav arrives in the small coastal town where Levi lives to film a movie. Once they get past their hurt feelings about the events of the past, will it finally be time for Sav and Levi to be together?
This story was amazing. Levi and Savannah were rich, rounded characters with a deep history. How they get to their HEA is not an easy journey, but I so enjoyed going along for the ride with them! Levi’s daughter, Brynn, was a hoot, and I loved how Ms. Sharon stepped in to fill a void for Levi that he was missing in his own family. Between Never and Forever is a wonderful story of missed connections, second chances, redemption, and found family.
I hope that this is the start of a series because I really liked Sav’s bandmates, and would love to see more of them!

Meet Brit Benson
Brit Benson writes real, relatable romance novels that depict epic love. She likes outspoken, independent heroines, dirty-talking, love-struck heroes, and plots that tug on every emotion.
Brit would almost always rather be reading or writing. When she’s not dreaming up her next swoony book boyfriend and fierce book bestie, she’s getting lost in someone else’s fictional world. When she’s not doing that, she’s probably marathoning a Netflix series or wandering aimlessly up and down the aisles in Homegoods, sniffing candles and touching things she’ll never buy.
Brit currently resides somewhere near the Blue Ridge Parkway with her husband, daughters, dogs, and an obscene number of books.

I’m not just kissing the rival… I’m falling for him.
Spencer Pennington has always been a shameless flirt, but when it came to being the best in our MBA program, all bets were off, and the competition was on.
Fast-forward a few years, and all it takes is a bar at a failed wedding and my silly kiss-rating system to lock lips with the enemy. Cocky as ever, Spencer claims he’s a ten and kisses me to prove it. I kiss him back to scratch an old itch, not expecting to like it.
Which is a huge problem, because Mr. Tall, Dark, and Tattooed from grad school is my new boss. And I want to kiss him again and again. Even if I only gave him a four.
Spencer
Charlotte Krause could be the perfect girl, if she didn’t hate me so much. I’m unsure if it was just me or guys in general, but she had this stuck-up, all-work-no-play vibe about her in college.
Imagine my surprise when I find her at the resort bar rating kisses like it’s her job. This carefree woman is nothing like the focused girl who turned me down at freshman orientation. And every time after that.
When I promise her I’m a ten, I see that competitive spark light in her ocean-blue eyes. There she is. She might have kissed me to prove me wrong, but I know I’m right about one thing.
She feels the spark too. There’s just one problem. It turns out her actual job is working for me.

Charlotte, aka Charlie, and Spencer first meet as college students, where he tries to flirt with her and she writes him off as being a jerk. He thinks she is stuck up. Flash-forward: The story then picks up ten years later, when her sister is marrying his best friend… At a bar before the wedding, Charlie is rating the kisses of other couples and Spencer challenges her to a kiss. It’s the best she’s ever had, but it is SPENCER, so Charlie says it’s so-so. Of course, Spencer wants better than that and makes it a personal challenge to up his rating.
In a twisted turn of events, after the wedding, Spencer turns out to be Charlie’s new boss. At first she’s wary, because she doesn’t like him. I honestly didn’t get *why* she hasn’t liked him all these years, because that initial interaction in college didn’t seem so bad. But Charlie has been holding on to that first impression for a decade. But Spencer has always kind of liked Charlie, so this story is a “he falls first” romance, which I always love reading. Charlie’s feelings for Spencer change on a dime, and I wish there was more buildup to that. I felt like I was told she changed her mind, wasn’t shown that she changed her mind, and that left me feeling lukewarm about Charlie in the end.
Kissing the Rival is part of a multi-author collaboration in The Kissing Games series, but each book is a standalone. The characters cross over between books as it is all part of the same universe.
Overall, this wasn’t the best Kaylee Ryan book I have read, but it was an enjoyable story.

Meet Kaylee Ryan
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Kaylee Ryan has been crowned the Queen of Swoon by her readers. With nearly fifty romance books under her belt, she’s known for penning happily ever afters with heart. When she’s not writing, you can find her with a book in her hand or hanging out with her family where she resides in her home state of Ohio.
They say you can’t escape your past, but I was hell-bent on proving them wrong. Rules weren’t a new thing to me since leaving the past and starting a new life with my adopted family. So when I’m forced to move into the frat house with my brother I’m not surprised when I’m given one rule; don’t kiss his friends. Sounds easy enough, that is until his sexy neighbor sets his sights on me. What’s a girl to do?
Trigger warnings: attempted suicide, sexual assault, and drug use!
I was expecting a lighthearted book based on the blurb, but No Kiss List was anything but!
These are flawed characters, but so relatable. I really thought Reed was a wonderful heroine. She has been through so much, always felt like she was a burden, and she really blossomed through this story. River seemed to be exactly what she needed, and he was so patient and dedicated. They both have baggage from their pasts that they are trying to work through, but despite the heartbreak and heartache, they manage to find their soulmate in one another. (I also wanted to slap Reed’s brother, AJ, quite a few times for his meddling.)
No Kiss List has plenty of sweet moments, and lots of spicy ones, but I was not expecting the rollercoaster of emotions I felt as I was reading this story. I will definitely be coming back to reread this one!

Accidentally In Love connects the Against All Odds: St. James Family series with Claudia Burgoa’s Luna Harbor series when Kingston St. James ends up with his little sister’s best friend. I have read the Against All Odds books, but not the Luna Harbor books, so there were some things about Myka’s backstory that didn’t line up for me. But for fans of both series, I can see where they would absolutely love Accidentally In Love.
Kingston kind of freaks out when he discovers that a dating app has matched him with his best friend’s little sister. It’s a sexy hookup that leads to a no-strings fling, as both Kingston and Myka have some issues to work through and neither one are truly in a place for a relationship. But together, they heal one another and discover that they are indeed a perfect match. There are many layers to both of these characters, and it was a fun ride to get to know them both.

Title: Favorite Mistake
Author: Jessica Prince
Series: Redemption
Contemporary Romance, Small Town Romance, Romantic Suspense, Man In Uniform
He was the town’s golden boy, their all-American hero. But there was a side of him he’d only shown her.
When Lyric Jackson stopped for gas in Redemption, Tennessee, she wasn’t sure what to think of the small town nestled in the middle of the Smoky Mountains. Then she got one look at Holton Clarke, saw that charming smile, and fell instantly. One night with the man in uniform sparked an ember of hope, but things didn’t quite end how she’d expected.
All Holton Clarke ever wanted to do was protect the people he cares about. He thought he’d be able to do that better as a deputy for his hometown, but one call turned his whole world and everything he thought he knew upside down. Including what he’d hoped for his future with a certain sassy librarian.
But when danger from Lyric’s past comes calling, Holton has to put his fears and insecurities to the side in order to save the woman who has gotten under his skin, but she refuses to make it easy, or give him a second chance. Now she’s under his roof, sharing his bed, and throwing him attitude and dirty looks every chance she gets.
She might claim that nothing is ever going to happen between them, but that one night they’d shared was his favorite mistake ever, and he has every intention of repeating it for the rest of his life.
**The Redemption series is a series of interconnected, standalone, small town romances.**
After first meeting Lyric and Holt in Slow Burn, I was super excited to find out that they would be the couple in Favorite Mistake. Lyric has been crushing on the sheriff since she moved to town. They are both having a bad day when they run into each other at Bad Alibi, and their shared misery leads to a hot one-night stand. But then Holt bolts the next morning, saying that the night was a big mistake.
But Redemption is a small town, and Holt can’t exactly escape the sexy librarian who has been occupying his every thought. Lyric doesn’t give in easily and keeps Holt at arm’s length. But after a terrifying break-in at her house, Holt swoops in to be her white knight and the walls between them fall over the next few weeks as she camps out in his guest room.
Holt and Lyric have demons they are hiding because of events in their pasts, and those secrets are the last thing standing between them. I really liked the honest and open conversation they had about their pasts, and how they moved forward from that as a couple.
Like the other books in the Redemption series, there is an element of suspense — which gives Holt a chance yet again to swoop in and be Lyric’s protector and savior.
I have read a lot of Jessica Prince books, and I think that Favorite Mistake is definitely her spiciest one yet! Holt seemed so nice and sweet in Slow Burn when he took Deva out on a date; but the sheriff is a dirty talker who likes it rough!

Visit Redemption a series of interconnected standalone romances
Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
Summer Jones only wants three things in life: 1. Keep her house plants alive. 2. Open a beautiful bed-and-breakfast.
3. Never see or speak to Beckett Valentine again. None of those things are currently possible. Summer Jones and Beckett Valentine are rivals and have never wanted the same things in life except for the newly for sale Horseshoe Creek Ranch. Summer thought her dreams of building a B&B would finally come true until her number one enemy decides he wants the land, too. Beckett plays dirty and refuses to give her what she wants—a common theme in their relationship—and the dream of acquiring the property turns into a living nightmare. They might’ve been at each other’s throats since they were teens, but the stakes have never been so high. And right now, she’s more determined than ever to take down her best friend’s older brother—cowboy boots and all. **Bless Your Heart is a small town, enemies to lovers, best friend’s older brother, contemporary southern romance with a guaranteed happily ever after. Each book in the Valentine Texas series is a stand-alone. Warning: this book contains tons of Southern sass, sarcasm, and lots of spice! Fade to black is not included.**
Sunny Shely’s Review: 4 Stars
I’ve read a bunch of Kenedy Fox books over the past few years, but Bless Your Heart is the first solo book I’ve read by Lyra Parish. And I am a fan! Beckett and Summer’s story is a great unrequited love, enemies-to-lovers, best friend’s brother romance. I really enjoyed these two characters and how competing over a property in their small ranching town of Valentine, Texas, brought them together and made them face their true feelings for one another.
Bless Your Heart is the start to a new series set in this quaint ranching town, and I loved the tease at the end for Summer’s best friend, Kinsley, and her ex. I am looking forward to more of this series!

About ROYALLY IN TROUBLE:
I have two responsibilities as the new heir to the throne:
1. Get married. 2. Have babies.
Sure, becoming queen one day is part of those new responsibilities, but as long as King Theo is in charge, I don’t have to add a coronation to my list.
That’s why I find myself in the throes of wedding planning, pre-wedding classes with my broody, over-protective fiancé, and counting down the days until we can finally say I do.
But with every day we grow closer to our wedding, we seem to grow apart.
Our commonalities are tested. Our faith in each other is questioned. And our safety is threatened. The only thing working? The command he has over me in the bedroom.
I keep telling myself, it’ll all work out. We just need to make it to the wedding day. Except, when the day finally comes, everything falls apart.
We might have made it through the last few months together, but now I’m not sure we’re going to make it out of this alive.
This sequel to Royally Not Ready was fantastic! I was content with the way Keller and Lily’s story ended in that book, but this sequel was everything. I am so glad I got to spend more time with these two!
Instead of a nice, sweet follow-up, Meghan Quinn ripped Keller and Lilly apart, made readers suffer and cry (oh, her characters suffered and cried, too!) before we were pieced back together again. Yet even throughout the struggles that these two go through during their royal wedding preparations, there are so many hilarious moments. Keller during the kiddie storytime was a moment to remember! And then came the traumatic twist of events, and I wanted to scream and yell and cry because I just wanted this couple to get married!
Well, there is a HEA. But it’s a long and twisty road for Keller and Lilly to get there!
I listened to this book in audio, with the sexy John Hartley and Samantha Brentmoor replacing Emma Wilder, who had scheduling conflicts and could not record this sequel. You know what, I didn’t even care that Lilly’s voice wasn’t the same. I didn’t even notice. Because I escaped into this amazing story!
I’m sad to say goodbye to this world because I really wanted Lara to get a book (but I felt satisfied enough with her personal connection by the end of RIT) and I fell in love with Lilly’s princess cousins. At least Lilly and Keller got the HEA they deserved!

First rule of being a nanny? Don’t fall for the single dad, even if he is smoking hot.
But that’s exactly what happens when grumpy small-town sheriff Asher Whitlock reluctantly hires me to take care of his daughter for the summer. Neither of us is thrilled with the arrangement, but he’s desperate for help, and I need the money for grad school this fall.
All we need to do is keep our distance and remain professional . . . turns out, that’s easier said than done.
Instead of focusing on my future, all I see is the strong jawline, crystal-blue eyes, and rock-hard body right in front of me. We try to resist each other, but we end up crossing every line until I’m in his bed.
I tell myself it’s just this once.
Okay, twice.
All right, every night.
But it’s got to end–he’s fourteen years older than me, with a kid and a stressful job. Have I mentioned my dad is his boss? Then there’s the past I’m trying to forget. Secrets aren’t easy to keep and mine are getting too big to hide.
Walking away is never simple but when I do, I can’t look back.
Even if it means leaving behind the man I was never meant to love.

In Forbidden Hearts, Corinne Michaels takes her readers back to Sugarloaf, this time focusing on the Whitlock family. Asher is as grumpy as they come, married to his job as the SWAT chief, and co-parenting his Deaf daughter. When he runs into a nanny issue the summer that his daughter is spending with him while her mom is out of the country on assignment, Asher reluctantly agrees to let his boss’ daughter — who is studying to be an audiologist and knows ASL — fill in as the nanny.
Phoebe is a breath of fresh air. She is fun and feisty and has no problem putting Asher in his place. I loved the combative nature of their relationship because it was overflowing with sexual chemistry. It was explosive when Asher and Phoebe finally gave in to their attraction to each other! Eventually, Asher and Phoebe agree to a secret relationship for as long as she is in town before heading back to grad school. But an unexpected twist changes the course of Phoebe’s life, and Asher turns out to be a big old protective Marshmallow underneath that grumpy exterior the rest of the world sees!
Meanwhile, Phoebe had a lovely friendship with Asher’s daughter, Olivia. It was so nice to see her treat Olivia as an equal and not as her ward.
This series is set a few years after the Arrowood Brothers books, since Phoebe is a contemporary of the Arrowood kids, and some of the OG brothers and their wives appear more in line with Asher’s age.
The next book in this series has been announced as Addy and Grady, tying the Whitlock Family series to the Rose Canyon series, since Addy moved from there to Sugarloaf. As CM readers know, her author bestie is Melanie Harlow — and Phoebe’s best friend is Emmeline, one of Frannie and Mack’s twins from the Cloverleigh Farms series. And yes, I hope she comes to visit Phoebe in Sugarloaf and falls head-over-heels in love with Rowan!

Gabriella Stone
Moving to LA was my dream since I was thirteen.
By the time I was twenty, I was sought out by some of the most beautiful people in the world to take their pictures.
No one cared that I came from a hockey dynasty.
Everything was perfect.
Then I met him.
It was supposed to be a one-time thing.
But it ended up being more. So much more.
Until he betrayed me.
Romeo Beckett
Growing up in LA, everyone knew I came from Hollywood royalty.
Following in my father’s legendary footsteps, I learned early on not to fall for the shallow shine of this city.
When I met her, I didn’t know she was what I’d been looking for.
In one night, I ruined everything.
She left without a second thought.
I’ve spent every day since becoming the man she deserves.
She thinks it’s over.
She’s wrong.
It’s time to win her back.
This book was like one big grovel from Romeo Beckett and I loved it! And I loved it even more once I realized that Romeo is the son of Tyler and Jessica from Hollywood Playboy (oh, how I loved their story!), connecting NM’s hockey world to her Hollywood series.
I went into this book knowing that there was a betrayal that lead to Gabriella and Romeo’s split, and I rightfully suspected it was cheating. That isn’t a hard pass for me, so I went into this book with open eyes and settled in for the ride. And I loved the journey.
The first half of this story is Romeo trying to convince Gabriella to give him a second chance, and the second half is the two of them adjust to being back in a relationship. There is a lot for Romeo and Gabriella to overcome, but this story is brilliantly written as Romeo mans up to his misdeeds and sets out on a mission to win her back. Both characters cautiously approach their reunion — she’s unsure if she can trust him again, and he is unsure if she will ever forgive him — and it’s handled with grace.
Made For Romeo is a great addition to the Made For series! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
