I enjoyed Damon and Adaline’s story so much! I really felt that the reader got to see every nuance of their relationship as they got to know each other after the one-night stand.

From the moment that he showed up at Adaline’s school, I just knew Damon would be all-in as a father. I enjoyed the journey as these two characters went from the awkward exchanges about the pregnancy to realizing that they can’t live without each other. They were so well-matched.

Adeline is already pretty far along in her pregnancy when the book opens, and the baby is born around the halfway point. So we get a good mix of Adaline and Damon co-parenting before their relationship crosses the line to romance.

This book is written with all of Piper Rayne’s signature sass and heart, great banter between the main characters, and a supportive group of friends. While I would have liked to have seen the one-night-stand between them on the page, it didn’t make me like this romance any less!

I was sad to see the Whiskey Dolls series come to an end, but Jessica Prince went out with a bang with Roan and Alma’s story! This second-chance romance is full of big, swoony moments and some major groveling as Roan sets out to win back the woman he let go.

Due to their breakup, Alma has sworn off relationships. She’s kept a part of her past hidden from her sisters at Whiskey Dolls. Everything But You was a rollercoaster of a second-chance romance. After reading the last book, and the tattoo scene at the end between the Gibson brothers, I was intrigued about Forrest and Shauna’s history and couldn’t wait to see how this story would pan out.

Forrest and Shauna never gave up on loving each other — yeah, yeah, she is engaged to someone else when the book opens, but the rest of the story is about her trying to win *him* back after he begged her not to get married, and I loved it. There is a nice push and pull between these characters, and there are so many layers to them repairing their relationship when she comes to work as the event coordinator at his family’s ranch.

Everything But You is the perfect blend of swoon, regret, heartache, and angst in a second-chance romance, and it ends with a happily ever after that is a lovely payoff for these high school sweethearts.

Broken Dreams so beautifully tied together the Whitlock Family series, the Arrowood Brother series, and the Rose Canyon series!!

Addy is the widow of Isaac from Rose Canyon, who moved to Sugarloaf when her daughter Elodie was a baby, seeking a fresh start after her husband’s brutal murder. Flash forward to present day, and Addy strikes up a friendship with fellow single parent Grady Whitlock after witnessing his son Jett have a full-blown meltdown outside of daycare. Addy and Grady keep running into each other and agree to fake date so she doesn’t have to go back home to Rose Canyon to attend a wedding alone and he can pose with a girlfriend to secure funding for a business deal. Yet while the arrangement between them is fake, the attraction is very real.

This was a wonderful, heartfelt, emotional story of two single parents learning how to navigate raising toddlers while mourning not just the sudden death of a spouse, but also grieving the loss of the life they had planned. Yet while Addy wants to find another partner to share her life with, Grady is so closed off to the idea of love, not wanting to lose someone else the way he suddenly lost his wife (who died of an aneurysm). But as it turns out, Addy is exactly what Grady needs in his life. While she was hesitant to begin dating again, she dove into the fluttering feelings that he gave her. Grady tries to push off his feelings for Addy, but she brought a spark back to his life that he couldn’t deny.

Broken Dreams was perfection! I laughed, I cried, and I hoped that Grady would get his ish together and realize what was right in front of him!

Love By Design is a perfectly binge-able holiday novella, giving Holland McQuaid an epic love story of her own all tied up with a pretty red bow. (I haven’t read Benching Brady, but Stryker is the son of the couple from that book, so I’m sure longtime Samantha Christy fans will love that connection.)

We’ve gotten to know Holland as the sister of the McQuaid brothers. She is married to her job, working for a high-end designer, and she kind of hates the holidays. Her boss sets her up on a blind date for a Christmas party, and there is an instant connection between Holland and sexy baseball player Stryker. I am spoiled after listening to this audio with a full cast of my favorite narrators!! That made this amazing story even better!

I’ve been dying to get Halsey’s story, after the bits and pieces we’ve gotten to know of him in the other Agitator books. But knowing what he’s been like since losing his twin, Holden, and actually reading it? I was not prepared for the heartache! Yet somehow, he comes to life when he’s around Blakely. And it’s magical. There is a lot of miscommunication between these two as she becomes his roommate and he has to hide his feelings for her because she’s fresh off a breakup. What Blakely reads as aloof behavior is just Halsey being adorably awkward. And he’s firmly in the friend zone.

With some prodding from the “Frozen Fellas” (those text chats are hilarious!), Halsey begins to make his moves. And after a fake date, the tension between them explodes. Sure, he’s gotten out of the friend zone. But will Halsey ever get to be more than roommates with benefits with his dream girl?

Not only was the story between Halsey and Blakely phenomenal, but the love between the band of brothers on the Agitators shone. The text convos made me laugh so hard and I loved getting to meet OC! There are plenty of MQ Easter eggs in this book too, like Almond Bay, and of course Halsey being Hayden’s brother from the Dating by the Numbers series. I loved the appearances by Huxley Cane. Anyone else get super excited by the fact that Kenzie and Banner are together???

Prepare for Chapter 23. There’s no Third Act breakup but MQ will rip your heart out before she puts it back together again!

Connor Crais and Erin Mallon were phenomenal as Halsey and Blakely, along with a fantastic supporting cast of narrators from the previous books: Teddy Hamilton, Jason Clarke, JF Harding and Kelsey Navarro.

I rarely read a book with a nerdy hero, and I loved Austin and Shay’s story so much! The Flirt Alert is a a super steamy, angsty, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, workplace, unrequited love, brother’s best friend romance — it checked all the boxes that I look for in those tropes. But Kaylene Winter also delivered a lovely story with the complexities of medical issues with Shay being epileptic. The chronic illness representation was so well-written, and I loved how it complemented the romance between Shay and Austin rather than becoming a plot point that takes over the overall story.

Kaylene Winter is a new-to-me author, and I very much enjoyed what I read and will be looking for more from her in the future!

I could not have loved Lexi and Devlin’s fake marriage story any more! Lexi needs a husband to save her family’s beloved ski lodge and Devlin — who was originally the agent making the deal with Lexi’s grandma — decides to play her husband to get some revenge on his old colleague and firm.

Sure, things start off strictly as a marriage of convenience, but considering that Devlin and Lexi had a hot and heavy one-night stand before they knew who the other was, there is that delicious sexual tension just simmering underneath every interaction. Seeing these two try to fight it, but fall miserably, was a joy to read!

Devlin is another Buckley sibling, and the timeline of Make-Believe Match is shortly after Austin and Veronica (Runaway Love) get together, but while Xavier and Kelly (Hideaway Heart) are still figuring things out. In fact, the book begins the night Xavier and Kelly meet up with his family at the local bar, so it was fun to see that night from the perspective of another character.

Make-Believe Match was swoony and spicy, full of all the goodness that you want in a fake relationship romance! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
