I love the sexual tension in a roommate romance, and I’m a sucker for a hero who is a jerk until he meets The One. So I was super excited to dive into Cocky Roommate. (Plus, I thought Kendra was a hoot in Book Boyfriend and was psyched to see her get her own story.) But then I started reading Cocky Roommate and… well, I had to wonder how the heck Claire Kingsley was going to make something, anything, redeemable about Weston Reid. The guy is a jackass! Like, I was wanting to have Weston become roommates with Mia’s asshole cat!

But then Caleb gave the explanation about how loyal a friend Weston can be, despite his jerkiness, and I thought, “Okay, let’s see where this is going…” Then Weston’s world comes crashing down around him and Kendra is the only one to help him put it back together and we begin to see his armor crack. And crack it did!

Claire nailed the nuances of how this guy who’s never been in a relationship before stumbles through trying to be a boyfriend. I never would have thought that the guy from the first few chapters was the same guy at the end!

I was up waay too late at night to finish Cocky Roommate because I just needed one more chapter over and over again to see how this story ends. And when Weston makes his Grand Gesture to win Kendra back, I couldn’t even be mad at him for the time and place he does it, because OF COURSE that’s the perfect moment! Considering Mia, Alex and Kendra’s involvement in the world of romance books, it was absolutely perfect! I came out of this book with so many highlighted passages and then went back and re-read them all this morning just to enjoy them with a fresh pair of eyes.

Now I’m sitting here, twiddling my thumbs, until Caleb’s book comes out!
