I read ALOT. I watch soaps a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever read a celebrity romance where the hero is a soap actor, and Mitch may be my new book boyfriend!

Jenna thinks she knows exactly what she wants out of a boyfriend — and he’s marrying someone else. While she’s drowning her sorrows at her ex’s engagement party, Jenna meets sexy soap actor Mitch, and later reluctantly agrees to go out with him as a favor for her soap-obsessed bestie. But everything about Mitch is all wrong in Jenna’s mind since he doesn’t check off any of the boxes on her perfect-man list. So they agree to be friends, but Jenna realizes that she may have had things wrong about Mr. Wrong. But then an untimely return appearance by Jenna’s ex just throws everything out of whack. Mr. Wrong is a fun, sexy story of what happens when the guy who you are sure is all wrong just may be everything that you never knew you needed.

I fell in love instantly with Mitch and Jenna. There’s a lot of miscommunication between them that prevents them from getting together, but Tessa Blake does a fabulous job of making the reader want Jenna and Mitch to get together in spite of it. In fact, I devoured this book in a single night, staying up waaaay to late in order to finish it. Mostly, because I had to see how far Jenna could push her “friend” Mitch before he broke. And when Mitch reached his breaking point, it was an explosive moment that led to a beautiful, tender encounter.

But as in any good story, The Conflict must arise. And Jenna’s Grand Gesture to make things right with Mitch gave me butterflies. I’ve gone back to re-read it more than once!

Mr. Wrong is set in 2005, and there are tons of inside jokes for soap opera fans. There’s a lot of flirty banter and sexually charged moments between the MCs, but only one sexual encounter, which I think says alot about Blake’s ability to craft an endearing story that doesn’t rely on the smut factor. It’s a beautiful, heartwarming, funny, quirky story about letting life happen — because what it is that you think you might want could be totally wrong.
