I love how Team Player includes 11 sports-themes novellas. Perfect to read a story in one sitting!
The anthology is full of athletic heros, but within those stories, just about every trope is covered. Two of my favorites were Back In The Game and Cross.
In Back In The Game, by Meghan Quinn, single dad Calder meets teacher Rachel in the most unusual, and completely adorable, way. I love her sense of humor, and the banter between them. Quinn makes great use of text messages between them to advance the romance, and gives the reader an insight to their connection. I would love to see this expanded to a full novel, and can’t wait to see Calder’s friend Hayden in Quinn’s upcoming Three Blind Dates.
Cross, by Adriana Locke, is a sweet second-chance romance. Cross and Kallie reconnect when she moves back to town. At first, she can’t trust him because of their past problems, by Cross is determined to prove that he’s changed in the years since they’d broken up. It is short, sweet and heartwarming.
