There are immediate sparks between Linc and Vera, and they both struggle with their roles and responsibilities.

This book is part of the Misadventures series of standalone. It is fresh, funny, sexy and sweet. Linc is so patient with Vera, and it takes her a while to trust that she’s desertification another love. But then this slow burn turns into an inferno!

Hot For His Girl is unlike the other Rachel Blaufeld books I’ve read. Whereas those have been on the more serious side, Hot For His Girl is a much lighter, funnier story. I laughed so much!

Andi and Reid are both bloggers, but while she’s a single mom who runs are snarky blog anonymously, Reid is front and center on his blog, Groom And Grill. (Took me a while to realize where the “hot for his girl” title came from, but Reid loves to grill!) When they have a random run-ins, Andi knows who Reid is, but keeps her own blogger identity from him. First, she’s in shock at having met him in person, but as they begin dating and she starts falling for him, Andi’s guilt grows with each passing day.

So of course, Reid finds out the ugly truth in the worst possible way…. but is he man enough to hear Andi out about why she kept the truth from him?

There are so many adorable moments between Andi and Reid, and he is just completely enamored with her daughter. Gabby. The story unfolds at a great pace, and I really enjoyed getting to know these characters as they fell in love. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

He’s tall, lean, and muscular in track pants and a long-sleeved tee underneath a glow-in-the-dark skeleton-adorned apron. Jet-black hair, mussed across his forehead. Even under the darkening sky, I can tell he has deep olive-toned skin. His eyes, I’m not quite sure. Maybe dark.

I feel my feet walking toward the object of my desire, but suddenly halt them.

Whoa, horsie.

For a second, my brain kicks in and I take stock of my disheveled appearance. This isn’t how I want to meet the man I’ve internet-stalked for a week. The man my brother-in-law wants to emulate, supposedly to win the heart of an overeager preschool teacher. The man who grills shirtless and does it oh-so-well. Just yesterday, he made rosemary-and-thyme veal chops. I don’t believe in eating veal, have never even tried it, and I was salivating over my laptop.

Reid, Grill and Groom, whatever his last name is, doesn’t hide behind the anonymity of his laptop. Nope, he’s right out on the wild, wild web for anyone to see.

This man is everything I’m not. He writes a successful blog, puts his name out there. And now he’s standing a few feet from me, joking with my daughter and her friend like he has nothing better to do and all the time in the world to do it.

“Mom! Can we have two?”

“Ms. Andi, this guy said we could have two big bars! Can we?”

“Hey there . . .”

Three voices call to me, but I’m stuck in Reidville, the small town that had only just begun to grow in my mind. Not the real, live man currently calling out, “Hey there,” to me.

“Mom!” Gabby shouts, finally dragging me out of a dense mental fog.

“Um, are you sure?” I holler from where I’m standing, because there’s no way in hell I’m allowing myself to move any closer to the door.

“It’s no prob. Evening’s almost over, and I don’t want to be stuck with all this leftover candy,” Reid yells back.

He’s tall. I’m guessing six foot two or three based on the way he towers over the girls and his head almost meets the top of the door frame.

“Make sure to say thanks,” I tell the girls, my voice squeaking, the stupid crumpled coffee cup dangling in my hand.

“Would you like one?”

Reid, Reid, Reid, just let me get out of here alive with my limbs attached and my lungs still pumping air in and out.

But no, he can’t. The girls sing, “Thank you,” and he’s following them out to me, candy basket in hand.

I fight the urge to sniff under my pits again, but I can’t seem to stop my free hand from smoothing down the front of my shirt and gathering my cardigan tight across my belly. It’s flatter than most, but still—I’ve had a baby.

“Would you like one? To go with your coffee?” He’s dead center now, right in front of me, wearing flip-flops despite the chilly nighttime air, holding the basket with his strong hands I’ve seen pictured on the blog, working the grill.

I’m not gonna lie. I’ve fantasized about those hands working me . . . just about everywhere. Okay, everywhere.

I admit it. I ended up perusing this guy’s site more than I care to say.

Green. His eyes are dark green, deep like the forest, clear like the sea, inviting like a patch of moss.

A frog settles in my throat, and I can’t make a sound for fear it will alas be a croak.

I shake my head and clear my throat, banishing the toad. “Tempting, but no thanks.”

“Actually, I really do have apples, if that’s more appealing.” He cocks an eyebrow at me, light from the rising moon twinkling in his eyes.

Reid, Reid, Reid, go back to your grill.

Another excellent installment in the #1 Series from T. Gephart! I love getting to know the Larsson brothers, and Nick was a real sweetheart! It’s borderline stalker how aspiring scriptwriter Claire ends up dating Nick. And a complete fangirl fantasy come true! (But why didn’t Nick ever question how she knew where he lived?)

I loved Claire’s quirks, and how great Nick was in dealing with and loving her crazy. Plus, Claire has some kick-ass friends, and I loved getting to know Scully and Luke. (Please let there be stories for them in the future, TG!) The writing and pacing in this book was excellent, and the story flowed so well.

When The Conflict happens that breaks Claire and Nick apart, it’s perfect timing as far as Claire waiting for the other shoe to drop on their happy relationship. Nick’s Grand Gesture to win her back is swoon-worthy!

I find Miles behind a stage that has probably witnessed high school graduations, speeches, and musicals. His eyes take a leisurely stroll up and down my body. The way he stares, every zone in my body feels erogenous. Especially the boob zone, where he spends more time than usual.
When he slides his gaze up to my face, he looks hypnotized, then he shakes it off and brings me in for a hug. “So glad you’re here, Rox. Now go enjoy the show, and I’ll find you the second we’re done.”
Once it starts, I do enjoy the show. I never saw the Heartbreakers in concert when they were in their heyday. I’ve never been a concert person. Not that I’m opposed to music, but my mother set a precedent when I was in the eighth grade and my friends had a chance to see P!nk perform. I asked her if I could go, but the next day I had to take the prep school entrance exam, so the answer was no.
“It’s a better use of your time to stay in and study,” she’d said.
That’s what I mostly did in high school, listening to music on the radio as I worked through math problems and wrote essays on the Vietnam War. The Heartbreakers kept me company that way. Later, when Miles became a solo artist, I’d find myself humming his tunes when I heard them play in Starbucks, or while riding the escalator at Bed Bath & Beyond.
I became a fan, but I’m not a fangirl like some of the others here tonight. I don’t just mean the women. The Heartbreakers have fanboys and fangirls, singing along, belting out tunes. They’re crowding the stage, and the security guards hired when the Heartbreakers were confirmed for the event are standing on alert, arms crossed. Fortunately, there are no bras or panties thrown at the stage, nor briefs or belts either. I’m glad Miles’s high school class is full of fans but not crazy groupies.
The music reverberates in the gymnasium as the trio of gorgeous brothers sings love songs and fun songs and sexy songs while disco balls twirl from the ceiling and strobe lights flash.
When the set nears the end and they dive into one of Miles’s most popular solo tunes, a love song called “Today,” I swear his eyes find mine in the crowd as he sings about yesterdays and tomorrows. The way he sings turns the tingles into sparks, and I’m feeling it now for sure—that click, click, click of my heart, or maybe it’s my hormones.
Whatever it is, my breath comes faster as I dance.
When the show ends and the band thanks the crowd, that’s my cue to find him backstage. He’s sweaty, and I’ve never found sweat so sexy before. He drapes an arm around me, drops a kiss to my cheek, and says, “Hey, sexy bodyguard.”
My voice is a little breathier than I expect as I reply, “Reporting for duty.”

I love a funny enemies-to-lovers romance, and Cold Spell hit the mark! Luke and Liddy do not get along at all when they first meet — but he finds something so incredibly adorable about that in her. He’s cocky and arrogant, and she’s a sassy spitfire. They push each other’s buttons over and over again… but there is a fine line between love and hate!

The last book written by AM Willard before her untimely passing, Forty Candles is a delightful romance between single mom Jules and one of her clients, Lenny.

In the midst of a messy divorce, Jules is reluctant to act on her attraction to Lenny. I love that there is a distant childhood connection between Jules and Lenny; that definitely added to the relationship they both have with Jules’ ex-husband. As much as she pushes Lenny away, he refuses to give up because for the first time since his ex-fiancee, he has found a woman worth fighting for. The relationship he builds with her teenage daughter, Sophia, is a big part of their story as well. It’s not something that was alluded to; the reader gets to see them build their own connection.

It’s a long and twisted journey for both of these characters, but their broken pasts is what brings them to a solid future together! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Panic invaded. They lived in a safe neighborhood, but did someone know she was home alone tonight? Who could be at the door at this hour?
She knew Kevin had a handgun somewhere in the house, but she’d never learned how to use it. She jumped up and ran to the window facing the front of the house, pulling the gauze drape aside enough to peek out.
Panic turned to dread as she saw a police car in the driveway. Her mind raced to think of possible reasons for a visit by the police at this hour. Each scenario seemed worse than the one before. She rushed to her closet to grab her terrycloth robe before she jogged to the stairs, turning on the lights to the entryway to alert the police she was awake. The in-progress knocking stopped immediately.
Cali looked out the peephole. Standing on her porch were two uniformed police officers. They looked official, but she was still afraid. She wished Kevin were home with her to handle this.
She didn’t want to open the door. “Hello, officers. It’s late. What’s the problem?”
She watched through the viewer as the taller of the two responded to her question. “We’re sorry to disturb you at this hour ma’am, but there’s been an accident. We’d like to come in to discuss it with you.”
An accident. Her first thought went to her father. She hadn’t talked to him in months. “An accident? Was it my father?”
“Honestly, ma’am, we’re not sure. If you’d open the door, we have a few questions for you. Perhaps you could help us sort things out.”
Cali took a deep breath and unlocked the front door. A blanket of dread surrounded her as she let the two officers into the foyer. The shorter, stockier man reached out his hand with a business card.
“I’m Officer Jackson, and this is my partner, Officer Stanton. If you don’t mind me asking, who might you be?”
The question was unexpected. They were standing in her foyer. Surely, they knew who she was. “I’m Calista Bennett.”
She didn’t miss the quick glance between the men before Officer Jackson spoke.
“And who is Kevin Bennett to you, ma’am?”
“Is Kevin in some type of trouble officer?”
“Just answer the question if you would, ma’am.”
Cali’s voice quavered in her reply. “Kevin’s my husband, but he’s out of town on business this week. He’ll be back tomorrow afternoon if you need to speak with him. What is this about again?”
It was Officer Stanton who spoke, “Perhaps we could sit down before we answer your questions.”
Panic had her heart pounding in her ears. “I don’t want to sit down. I just want to know why you’re here.”
Officer Stanton’s eyes filled with pity before he spoke.
“I’m sorry to tell you this, Mrs. Bennett, but we believe your husband was in an accident a few hours ago.” He stopped long enough to take a small notebook out of the front pocket of his bulletproof vest. Flipping the pages, he finally continued, “Does your husband own a silver 2016 Audi R8?”
Her answer was a whispered, “Yes. It was a graduation gift from his parents when he passed the bar.” The truth was sinking in. Kevin had been in an accident. “Let me go change my clothes. What hospital did they take him to?” Only then did Cali realize he hadn’t even shared what city he was in. “He’s on a business trip. Where do I need to go to see him?”
The officers hesitated. “I’m sorry to inform you that your husband died from his injuries.”
Cali would have collapsed to the floor if Officer Stanton hadn’t caught her. He let her lean on him heavily as he steered her to the nearby living room. They sat on the closest love seat, and he wrapped his arm around her as unconscious tears overflowed down her cheeks. Her mind reeled. There had to be a mistake.
