Sunny Shelly’s Review: The Playboy by Marni Mann

The Playboy by Marni Mann is now live!

A sizzling, grumpy-sunshine, boy-obsessed, one-night-stand romance from USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann …

Spade. People know what to expect when they hear my last name.

Billionaire. Alphahole. The forever bachelor. Heir to Spade Hotels, one of the most luxurious brands in the world.

Want to know what they would never call me?

Boyfriend.

Until her.

With one glance at her in the club, I’m ready to claim her for the night.

Dark, flowing hair. A smile that causes my heart to pound. Eyes that pierce my soul. And a perfect body that makes every part of me pulse.

She’s addictive. Electrifying. Consuming.

I’ve never wanted anyone more.

Our eyes meet, but she looks right past me. She isn’t here for me. She’s here for the music.

For the first time in my life, a woman makes me work for it. Her indifference fuels the fire inside me.

The result? One night. No names. No introductions.

Just pleasure.

The way I’ve always liked it.

But now, I find myself fantasizing about this gorgeous stranger, and I swear I can still feel the softness of her skin and taste her on my lips.

The minute I saw her, a switch flipped inside me. Now, how do I stop this raging … obsession?

When our paths cross again in the most unexpected way, I’m on a mission to make her mine. But what happens when she wants nothing to do with me?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

I love when a reformed playboy falls hard and fast, and The Playboy — as the title suggests — did not disappoint! Marni Mann kicks off a new series with this hot romance that starts as a one-night stand between Macon and Brooklyn.

After having his heart broken while in college, Macon swore off relationships and has fully embraced his reputation as a playboy. So he doesn’t quite know what to do when he’s completely mesmerized by a beautiful woman dancing by herself at a club one night. They have a hot one-night stand, not exchanging names or numbers — but he still can’t get her out of his mind.

With just a few months to go before she graduates college, Brooklyn is hyper-focused on finishing her degree and starting her career. Her only release is dancing at the club a few nights a week. It’s out of character to have a one-night stand with a random stranger, but she breaks her rules that night, never expecting to see the guy again.

But life keeps bringing Macon and Brooklyn together — even if she wants nothing to do with him. It’s not an easy road for Macon to break down Brooklyn’s walls, but bit by bit, he breaks her down. However, will the secrets that they’ve been keeping from one another tear them apart just as they are starting?

Macon and Brooklyn are great characters. There is a lot of sizzle between them, and this book is sexy as sin.

This Spade Hotel series is tied to The Daltons — Macon’s cousin Jo (who is head of marketing for the Spade business) is engaged to Jenner Dalton. So there are several cameos by the Dalton family members, which I loved seeing.

Sunny Shelly’s Review 4 Stars

I haven’t read many books set in the racing world since K. Bromberg’s Driven series — and then I came to find out that Homecoming is set in the Driven World. So there’s that! This was a well-paced, second-chance story between former childhood best friends Ian and Lola and all the heartbreak and pain that goes along with a hero with a traumatic past.

Years after Ian was forced to move out of their trailer park, Ian and Lola reconnect on the Formula One circuit where he is a top driver. Their reunion gets off to a somewhat rocky start, but it doesn’t take long before these two reconnect and have the chance as 20somethings that they never had as teenagers.

Homecoming is a lovely story about the one that got away. I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.

Ana Balen was born in Zagreb, Croatia, where she still lives with her husband, their son (read boss!) and the son’s pet rabbit named Shhh! (or some other gibberish that’s the favorite of their son for the day.)

She spends her days driving her husband up the wall (when he can’t get her ass up from the bed in the mornings), reading and daydreaming, or following orders from a two-year old. In the hectic life she leads (and loves every second of it), she never thought about writing. But, then one day a name popped in her head, then, the snippets of things, and she sat down and started typing. Next thing, she wrote a book. Sunny Shelly’s Review: Protecting Piper by Jennifer Bonds

Protecting Piper by Jennifer Bonds is now live!
Brady Vaughn is sweet, sexy, and totally into me…

Too bad I don’t have time for distractions, especially the relentless football player kind. If I want to graduate next semester, I need to focus on student teaching, not on my love life. But Brady’s incredibly hard to resist. Not only is he the most gorgeous guy I’ve ever laid eyes on, he has the personality to match. He’s sweet. Attentive. Real.

When he crashes my pole dancing class, swearing he’ll return every week until I give him a shot, I’m certain he’ll be the first to crack. But with each passing week, he’s melting my defenses, and it’s getting harder and harder to resist his quiet charm.

The only problem? He doesn’t know about my side hustle as a cam girl, and I plan to keep it that way.

As much as I like Brady, I can’t risk my future—or my career in education—on anything less than a sure thing.

If life has taught me anything, it’s that there are no guarantees, and if my secret gets out, I’m not the only one with something to lose…

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

Jennifer Bonds is a new-to-me author; I liked Protecting Piper, but didn’t completely love it. I adored Brady, but never quite warmed up to Piper and I’m not sure why. i loved that she embraced her curves as a camgirl, but there was just something about her as the fmc that I couldn’t connect with.

Brady and Piper come from different backgrounds (he has a tight-knit family and having grown up on a farm is a bit naive while she has a complicated relationship with her mom and is more wordly), but it works for them. I bought into the instant connection between them, and felt that the story explored the progress of their relationship nicely.

Having not read the other books in this series, I felt a bit disconnected from Brady’s friends, and felt like there is a lot more to the bigger picture that I was unaware of based on the previous books. But overall, this was an entertaining story.

I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.

Meet Jennifer Bonds
Jennifer Bonds writes sizzling contemporary romance with sassy heroines, sexy alphas, and a whole lot of mischief. She’s a sucker for enemies-to-lovers stories, laugh out loud banter, and over the top grand gestures. Jennifer lives in Pennsylvania, where her overactive imagination and weakness for reality TV keep life interesting. She’s lucky enough to live with her own real life hero, two adorable (and sometimes crazy) children, and one rambunctious K9. Loves Buffy, Mexican food, a solid Netflix binge, the Winchester brothers, cupcakes, and all things zombie. Sings off-key.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Worth The Hurt by Ashley Dranguet

Available Now: Worth The Hurt by Ashley Dranguet

“I pick guys that I know are incapable of commitment. Over time, I became good at reading people. Or so I thought. Because every single guy ends up falling for me, and every single time, I have to break their heart. Until him.”

Macy is smart, beautiful, and driven, but she hasn’t always been confident. Early on, she learned a secret about herself. Heartbreak fuels her fire. She finds herself self-sabotaging every relationship she gets into because the pain motivates her to work on herself and toward her goals. With every new relationship, comes a new goal. They start off small and gets bigger over time. Here’s the kicker: she allows herself to fall effortlessly for a short period of time, then breaks her own heart, pushing herself to achieve that next milestone. Until she finally has everything she’s ever wanted and finds herself falling for the competition that could cost her, her last goal.

Paxton Meyers. The handsome, educated, and witty law student who she sees the potential for a future with. But she soon realizes that she’s 25 with no idea how to be in a normal relationship.

Secrets are kept and lies began to unfold during her journey to discover the truth about the man who she was ready to give up the game for.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
I can’t believe that Worth The Hurt is a debut novel, because Ashley Dranguet knocked it out of the park! Paxton and Macy’s story is so well-written, with so many layers and plot twists. They are completely relatable characters in a relatable situation, and I was blown away by how well-done this story was.

Macy has some major commitment issues, but there is something about Paxton that is different. Meanwhile, Paxton has been keeping a pretty big truth about himself from Macy. Will she be willing to let down the walls around her heart? Will the secret that Paxton has been hiding put an end to their relationship before it really gets started?

Worth the Hurt is full of emotions, and I loved the angst. I enjoyed this book so much and can’t wait to see what Ashley Dranguet brings to the table next!

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Something Like Lust by Piper Rayne

Something like Lust by Piper Rayne is now live!

Do it.

Don’t do it.

Never in my life did I think I’d wager in my head whether to sleep with Chicago Grizzlies wide receiver, Damon Siska.

He’s the perfect package—hot body, killer smile, and flirts like he earned a doctorate in it. But anyone who reads gossip blogs knows he is looking for one amazing night and nothing more.

I’m not the usual type of woman he beds. I’m a middle school teacher who cherishes her quiet nights in, drinking wine, and watching romantic comedies, dreaming I’m the heroine. I’m not embarrassed to admit—I want the fairy tale.

But Damon caught me at a weak moment. Fresh off a break-up and feeling lousy about myself, I gave into temptation and left the next morning like every other woman he’d slept with.

Except I walked away with more than just the memories when three weeks later the little white stick glowed with two pink lines.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

I enjoyed Damon and Adaline’s story so much! I really felt that the reader got to see every nuance of their relationship as they got to know each other after the one-night stand.

From the moment that he showed up at Adaline’s school, I just knew Damon would be all-in as a father. I enjoyed the journey as these two characters went from the awkward exchanges about the pregnancy to realizing that they can’t live without each other. They were so well-matched.

Adeline is already pretty far along in her pregnancy when the book opens, and the baby is born around the halfway point. So we get a good mix of Adaline and Damon co-parenting before their relationship crosses the line to romance.

This book is written with all of Piper Rayne’s signature sass and heart, great banter between the main characters, and a supportive group of friends. While I would have liked to have seen the one-night-stand between them on the page, it didn’t make me like this romance any less!

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Vamp by Jessica Prince

Vamp by Jessica Prince is now live!

He has the voice of an angel, the body of a God, and I hate the very ground he walks on.

After having her heart broken, Alma Rossi made a vow: no more relationships. All she wants now is a good time with a guy who won’t try to cuddle afterward. She’s content with the new life she’s built for herself, even if all of her friends are starting their own happily ever afters. But when the man she’s tried for years to forget shows up in her town, begging for another chance, he throws her new life off its axis.

From the outside, Roan Blackwell has it all: a shining career as a country music superstar, a house that would make anyone green with envy, and more money that he knows what to do with. But after losing the love of his life, none of that other stuff seemed to matter anymore.

He would happily give it all up just for one more shot with the one who got away. He just has to convince Alma he’s worth a second chance. He’s not above playing dirty, and if that means going out of his way to charm her entire town so they’ll help in his mission to win her back, then that’s exactly what he’ll do.

I was sad to see the Whiskey Dolls series come to an end, but Jessica Prince went out with a bang with Roan and Alma’s story! This second-chance romance is full of big, swoony moments and some major groveling as Roan sets out to win back the woman he let go.

Due to their breakup, Alma has sworn off relationships. She’s kept a part of her past hidden from her sisters at Whiskey Dolls. As the story unfolds, Alma discovers that their breakup wasn’t as easy on Roan as she’s imagined it to be over the last 10 years. He’s suffered as well. But will she let go and let him back in?

I have loved the Whiskey Dolls series, and the found family that this ragtag group of misfits has found in each other.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Meet Jessica Prince

Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self-proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom.

Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance.

When she’s not nose-deep in her next manuscript or binging on sit-coms, you can usually find her with her Kindle in hand.

While Jessica loves writing series, almost all of her books can be read as standalones. She prides herself on having a little something for everyone. From fun romantic comedies to angst-filled page-turners, to emotional, contemporary small-town romances, you’ll definitely find a story you’re bound to love.

“Speak now or forever hold your peace.”

I hate that part in a wedding, where everyone waits on pins and needles to see if someone has a reason why the couple shouldn’t get married.

So, when I ran into my high school sweetheart and found out that she was engaged, I said my peace before she ever walked down the aisle.

Shauna and I crossed paths when I went to Las Vegas for work, and sharing one meal with her was enough for me to remember why no other woman has even come close to affecting me the way she did.

But then her fiancé showed up, surprising us both, and I thought I’d lost her for good.

Every dream of our future was sucked from me once more, because this wasn’t the first time she slipped through my fingers. At nineteen, she made decisions that tore us apart, and I was too stubborn to understand why back then.

But it turns out my twin brothers aren’t stupid after all when they convinced me to take one last shot to win her back.

So, I flew back to Vegas, intent on stopping her wedding and telling her how I feel, but it turns out, history was damned to repeat itself again because she walked down the aisle anyway.

Or so I thought.

Because six weeks later she shows up at my parents’ house for a job and there’s one thing that’s noticeably different on her—there’s no ring on her left hand.

I saw my future with her.

I know that’s what I still want.

But it’s hard to face the past when the future is uncertain too.

Can we heal the hurt? Can we find our way back to each other?

And most importantly, can I finally tell her: “I had everything but you.”

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Everything But You was a rollercoaster of a second-chance romance. After reading the last book, and the tattoo scene at the end between the Gibson brothers, I was intrigued about Forrest and Shauna’s history and couldn’t wait to see how this story would pan out.

Forrest and Shauna never gave up on loving each other — yeah, yeah, she is engaged to someone else when the book opens, but the rest of the story is about her trying to win *him* back after he begged her not to get married, and I loved it. There is a nice push and pull between these characters, and there are so many layers to them repairing their relationship when she comes to work as the event coordinator at his family’s ranch.

Everything But You is the perfect blend of swoon, regret, heartache, and angst in a second-chance romance, and it ends with a happily ever after that is a lovely payoff for these high school sweethearts.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Blake and Raven’s story captivated me from the start. There was an instant connection between these two characters when they randomly met at a Las Vegas club where she was celebrating her best friend’s bachelorette and he his brother’s bachelor parties. Sexy dancing led to a one-night stand, but Raven took off before the sun was up and they never exchanged last names or numbers. So when Raven found out she was pregnant several weeks later, she had no idea how to get in touch with Blake.

She didn’t have to look far: As luck would have it, Blake and Raven’s brother, Camden, were teammates. Blake had no clue that *he* was the guy who knocked up Camden’s sister until Raven showed up at the rink one day — and Camden put the pieces together. Once he recovered from being hit by Camden’s fist, Blake jumped right into boyfriend and babydaddy mode. I loved how sweet he was with Raven, and how all in he was, without question. The relationship between Blake and Raven moved fast because of the pregnancy, but I liked that they took a step back to get to know one another and date. But when it’s right, it’s right, and the sizzling attraction between them just grows stronger and stronger.

This really was a lovely story, with a wonderful HEA. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Broken Dreams by Corinne Michaels

Broken Dreams by Corinne Michaels is now live!

What could possibly go wrong fake dating the gorgeous single dad in a small town?

The answer, you fall for him.

It started out perfect. Grady Whitlock needed a plus one for his business meetings, and I needed a date for a wedding.

We had a plan. It was a good one.

Until it wasn’t.

I was not supposed to have feelings for him. I was not going to let my heart race when his soulful blue eyes stared into mine. No way should I have noticed his smile or the dimple on his right cheek or his strong arms when he held me close. I especially wasn’t going to melt when I saw him play with my daughter.

Most of all I was not going to sleep with him.

Nope. None of that was supposed to happen, but it does.

Now I find myself dreaming of him every night. Wishing we were really a couple because the way he kisses me doesn’t feel as if it’s pretend.

But we’ve both watched our dreams shatter, and I can’t handle another broken heart.

Broken Dreams so beautifully tied together the Whitlock Family series, the Arrowood Brother series, and the Rose Canyon series!!

Addy is the widow of Isaac from Rose Canyon, who moved to Sugarloaf when her daughter Elodie was a baby, seeking a fresh start after her husband’s brutal murder. Flash forward to present day, and Addy strikes up a friendship with fellow single parent Grady Whitlock after witnessing his son Jett have a full-blown meltdown outside of daycare. Addy and Grady keep running into each other and agree to fake date so she doesn’t have to go back home to Rose Canyon to attend a wedding alone and he can pose with a girlfriend to secure funding for a business deal. Yet while the arrangement between them is fake, the attraction is very real.

This was a wonderful, heartfelt, emotional story of two single parents learning how to navigate raising toddlers while mourning not just the sudden death of a spouse, but also grieving the loss of the life they had planned. Yet while Addy wants to find another partner to share her life with, Grady is so closed off to the idea of love, not wanting to lose someone else the way he suddenly lost his wife (who died of an aneurysm). But as it turns out, Addy is exactly what Grady needs in his life. While she was hesitant to begin dating again, she dove into the fluttering feelings that he gave her. Grady tries to push off his feelings for Addy, but she brought a spark back to his life that he couldn’t deny.

Broken Dreams was perfection! I laughed, I cried, and I hoped that Grady would get his ish together and realize what was right in front of him!

Knoxville Coyotes football heartthrob Cohen Campbell is my brother’s best friend. Now, he’s the man posing as my fake boyfriend. Simple, right? Wrong.

I thought my luck couldn’t get worse than when my long-term boyfriend publicly dumped me. Wrong again. Now, my ex is dating my cousin, and our friend group is embarking on an annual ski trip.

Desperate to save face, I beg Cohen to pretend to like me. To bluff wanting me. To lay it on thick to convince my friends that I’m not heartbroken or hurt. I’m not damaged goods. That I have, in fact, moved on.

But during the trip, things change. Cohen’s longing glances make my heart race. His casual, familiar touches stir up new feelings. And his kiss? His kiss makes me yearn for things I’ve never experienced before.

Toss in one bed, an epic snowstorm, and a gossip circle a mile wide, and I’m praying we don’t fumble our fake relationship.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

I really enjoyed Raia and Cohen’s romance!

Raia and Cohen have a history — he is her brother’s best friend. She’s always had a bit of a crush on him, and now that Raia is back home to recuperate after an injury, Cohen is looking at her in a different light. Their relationship starts off as a fake romance so she can save face on a ski trip with her ex and his new girlfriend: her cousin. Acting on the attraction between them, Raia and Cohen decide to just have a fling… but things get more complicated when it’s apparent that neither one of them is really pretending.

But can two pro athletes make a relationship work? Especially since Raia has plans to play soccer in Europe and Cohen plays football for the local pro team? There are some bumps in the road for Raia and Cohen to find their happily ever after, but it’s a lovely journey and I loved seeing how they fought for their relationship!

Meet Gina Azzi:

Hey Lovelies!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m Gina Azzi, a book-obsessed, coffee-drinking, globetrotting, mama of three! I write steamy Contemporary and Sports Romance books with heartwarming happily-ever-afters.

A Jersey girl at heart, I spent my twenties living and working abroad before settling down in Ontario, Canada with my family. When I’m not dreaming up storylines or writing all the words, you can find me hanging with my littles, attempting to bake, or planning my next adventure.
