Author: C.R. Ellis

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About WHEN LIGHT LEADS TO YOU

JASMINE
Once upon a time, there was a girl who had a crush on a boy. Eventually, they fell in love. They lived happily ever after.

Except they didn’t. Not even close.
I’m the girl, but that’s not my story.

Once upon a time, I fell for a boy, but we didn’t have a happily ever after. In fact, we crashed and burned. Which turned out to be for the best because it forced me to grow up and realize the only wedding bells in my future are the ones I orchestrate for clients.

For six years I’ve been perfectly content with meaningless, short-lived flings and running from anything that resembles a real relationship.

That boy?
He’s my best friend’s brother, and he’s no longer the boy I fell for—he’s a man I can’t stand.

Oh, and he’s also my new neighbor.

DEAN
Seemingly overnight, Jasmine Winters went from being my sister’s best friend to being the girl I couldn’t get enough of. But like most good things, it didn’t last.

Things fell apart so suddenly, I’m able to convince myself that summer never happened. At least, I was, until the only distance between us is a hallway instead of a time zone.

Six years ago, I let Jasmine slip through my fingers without an explanation because I was convinced we’d be better off apart. But now that we’re neighbors, our unspoken vow of apathy has unwittingly been shattered. Our exchanges consist of trading insults and icy stare downs. But in-between, I catch glimpses of the way she used to look at me, glimpses of the girl I fell for years ago.

Things are different now, though. This time… I won’t let her walk away without giving me answers.

When Light Leads to You is the second full-length novel of the Forget Me Knot series, but can be read as a standalone. **Due to strong language and the sexy times between these two, this book is recommended to readers ages 18 and up.**

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. C.R. Ellis is a new-to-me author, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the story I read in When Light Leads To You.

There is so much history between Dean and Jasmine, and not only because he is her best friend’s older brother. But a mess of a miscommunication between them as a result of something that happened six years earlier has led to them barely speaking over the past few years. Now, Dean is back in Austin and living across the hall from Jasmine, and their interactions have gone beyond tense. Every word that is exchanged between them seems to be hate-laced barbs, but the truth is, they are both suffering from broken hearts and have placed the blame squarely on the other.

I really loved how wonderfully written Dean and Jasmine were. They both have some major issues. Everyone she’s loved in her life has abandoned her and she was greatly impacted by her mother’s death. And Dean feels the need to rescue everyone as a result of a horrible incident with an ex-girlfriend. But when it comes to Jas, he doesn’t think he’s strong enough to be her savior. In the end, once these two get over themselves and their hurt feelings and hash out what had really happened in New York all those years ago, Dean and Jas help one another in the most beautiful way.

My *only* complaint about this book is that I wish we would have gotten more details about what happened between Dean and Jas the night before the prologue begins. Not knowing didn’t take away from the story for me at all, but I was so shipping them as a couple that I wanted to know every detail about their backstory.

And the title of this book was perfect. Not only is Rae Of Light the name of the bar where they finally reconnect, but the lights of the city of Austin is the backdrop for two major events in their rekindled relationship. I love when a title clicks like that!

I’ll definitely be checking out Emmett and Jade’s story in #1, and looking forward to Elliot’s tale next! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews The Right Fit, by Daphne Dubois

The Right Fit
Daphne Dubois
Publication date: April 12th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

She’s sworn off love, he’s sworn off sex, but together they’ll score the goal of a lifetime.

When Maxine Nicholls discovers her fiancé is cheating, she turns to fast food and nighttime soap operas, but her sister has a plan—unbridled rebound sex with a stranger.

As one of Toronto’s hottest players, Antony Laurent tallies scores on and off the ice, but when the chiseled defense man hits a slump, rumors of a trade to the minor league send him to ambush a managers meeting at a posh club.

That night a chance encounter ends up as an unforgettable evening of passion. But Maxine and Antony are about to discover a game of casual hook ups can lead to something neither one of them thought they deserved—the right fit.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

The Right Fit is a sexy, cute story. Maxine is reeling after finding out that her fiancé is cheating on her, and she has a one-night stand with a hunky mystery man.

Maxine has her quirks, but she is a likable, relatable heroine. I love sports romances when the heroine has no idea who the hero is. And Antony’s accent is adorable! Both of the characters are sweet, there is not really a hidden agenda on Antony’s part. There are some outside forces that are working against them in terms of their past, but these two bring out the better pieces in one another and are The Right Fit.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Jude, by Kelsie Rae

Presents

Release Blitz

Jude
by Kelsie Rae

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Signature Sweethearts; Book 3

When Jude is offered the position of assistant coach to an online gaming championship, he’d be a fool to turn it down. But when his celebrity crush ends up being on the team, he decides to teach her a lot more than a few gaming tricks.

Quin doesn’t date. Being the breadwinner since she was sixteen will do that to a girl. So when the sexy new British coach shows up, she refuses to be distracted. She has goals, and she will achieve them. No matter the cost.

But is she willing to lose the only thing that matters to her in order to do so?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

For an author who hasn’t been on the scene very long, Kelsie Rae is quickly becoming one of my favorites! She knocks another one out of the park with Jude, who we previously met in Breezy. (He’s Derrick’s friend and business partner.)

A former gaming champion, Jude is sent to assist the team he and Derrick are sponsoring in the world championships. On a personal level, Jude is thrilled that one of the players is Quincy, a young female gamer he’s admired online. Little does he know, but Quin looks up to Jude, and has for many years as watching him play gave her some peace and comfort during a dark time in her life.

But when their first meeting is anything but pleasant, Jude finds a way to get to know Quin through the gaming platform’s chat messenger, and begins to fall for the quirky, sheltered young woman who is so afraid to step outside of her comfort zone. But when he slips up, will he shatter the friendship that they’ve also begin to develop in real life?

I loved how Jude helps timid Quin break out of her comfort zone, and learn to live life. The characters are so well-written, their backstories are solid and believable, and I was rooting for them from the beginning.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

About the Author

Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels and enjoys a solid chick flick, too. When she’s not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, playing with her “monsters”.
She adores chocolate, photography, baking, and running. And now that she’s actively pursuing her writing dreams, she’s set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not eat an entire batch of cookies in one sitting.

Release Blitz: Tripp, by Somer Hayes

The oldest of five boys, Tripp shoulders the heavy burden of running the family businesses. His responsibilities bring with them bitterness, as his only desire is to work the family ranch away from the annoyances and frustrations of the city. However, the love he possesses for his younger brothers drive him to assume the role so they may be free to pursue their lives outside of the onerous name of Maverick. He finds himself withdrawing from the things he once loved and fears happiness is a noun that will never again apply to his life.

Hannah Price has worked hard for everything she has – which isn’t much. Born into a family mired in poverty to parents who dealt with addiction, they struggled to take care of themselves, much less raise their only daughter. Refusing to feel sorry for herself, Hannah quickly learned the value of a dollar and through her entrepreneurial spirit scraped and saved enough money to open her own business. However, the niche she thought she would be filling has been slow to catch on as the red meat loving cowboys all around her aren’t impressed by a fancy, gluten-free bakery.

Unwittingly, their paths collide and heads butt. Their struggles to reach their dreams seem to depend on the successes or failings of each other. Soon, the hard line Tripp draws between business and pleasure begins to blur, and the infallible Maverick falls.

**Standalone**

My heart thumped an extra anxious beat when a dark shadow filled one window and then the doorframe. A moment later, a mountain of a man stepped through the threshold and squinted down at me. He was the most attractive person I’d ever laid eyes on, and for a moment, I swear I forgot my name.
“Hannah Price?” Right. That was it. His voice was deep and sounded hoarse as though he spent his days barking orders like a drill sergeant.
“Yes. Can I help you?”
He extended a palm the size of my dessert plates. “Tripp Maverick. I’m taking over the property management business for my father. I’ll be here the first of every month to check on the building and collect rent.”
I swallowed the dry lump that had formed in my throat before I accepted his handshake. I’d never met Tripp Maverick, but I knew his name well, and the fact that he was my new landlord was bad news for me. His reputation was that of a bulldozer—straight and steady—his will bent to no man. Or woman, as it were.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Maverick.” I pulled my hand from his strong grip and unconsciously wiped it down the apron covering my thigh. “Is everything okay with your dad?”
I didn’t know Rhett Maverick well, but he’d always been kind to me, and it seemed strange he’d turn the property management business over to his son without first notifying his tenants.
“He’s just taking a step away from some of the family businesses for a while. I’m going to fill in for him until other arrangements are made.”
The Maverick family had a long history in this part of Montana and had built an empire first through ranching, then by expanding to everything from oil to financial investments to real estate development. Through the latter, the family now owned much of downtown including the building we stood in.
“I see. May I get you a cup of coffee or a scone? The special this week is orange cranberry.”
“No thank you, ma’am. I’ll just take a quick look around to familiarize myself with the building, then collect your payment and be on my way.”
He stepped around me, the scent of pine and man dizzying. I counted six loud echoes of his boots against the floor before I found my voice again. “Mr. Maverick?”

New Release: Not So Nice Guy, by R.S. Grey

R.S. Grey’s newest romantic comedy, NOT SO NICE GUY, is available TODAY! Get your hands on it now!

About NOT SO NICE GUY

“Oh my god. Who is that?”

I get asked this question a lot.

“Oh him?” I reply. “That’s just Ian.”

Just Ian is the biggest understatement of the century. Just the Mona Lisa. Just the Taj Mahal. Just Ian, with his boring ol’ washboard abs and dime-a-dozen dimpled smile.

Just Ian is…just my best friend.

We’re extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at work assumes we’re a couple—that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher’s lounge that he’s single. Fair game. Suddenly, it’s open season on Ian.

He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine.

He’s turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into X-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.

I want to assume he’s playing a prank on me, just pushing my buttons like always—but when Ian lifts me onto the desk in my classroom and slides his hands up my skirt, he doesn’t leave a lot of room for confusion.

I’m a little scared of things going south, of losing my best friend because I can’t keep my hands to myself. So, I’m just going to back away and not return this earth-shattering kiss—oh who am I kidding?!

Goodbye Ian, ol’ buddy, ol’ pal!

Helloooo mister not so nice guy.

New Release: Sunny Shelly Reviews Kiss My Ash, by Leddy Harper

Kiss My Ash, an all new Sexy Taboo standalone Romance by Leddy Harper is NOW AVAILABLE!

Ash Jenkins was the typical boy next door. Wait, who am I kidding? There was nothing typical about that boy.

He was tall, ripped, and had the voice of a man twice his age. Intelligent, sexy as sin, and barely legal.

Sent to live with his dad after getting in some trouble with the law, he was definitely someone I needed to stay away from.

But he had his sights set on me, and he didn’t try to hide it.

Did it still make me a cougar if I was the prey?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Wow. Kiss My Ash is not your typical boy next door romance. And Asher Jenkins is not your typical boy next door! He may be 17, but he is all man! I love how Leddy Harper takes the cougar trope and turns it on its head by making Ash the hunter and single mom Kristy the prey.

There is such a build-up between these two characters, and the chemistry sizzles from the beginning. Ash goes out of the way to not put Kristy in a dangerous situation, even if she isn’t aware. You just KNOW his secret is a bomb waiting to go off, and the detonation was worth the wait! The reveal of Ash’s true age comes mid-book, so a good portion of the story is them dealing with just omission, and trying to figure out how to be together once he does turn 18. But since they are still keeping their relationship under wraps until he graduates high school, there is a second bomb waiting to explode. And once it does, the ripple effects trickle down to Kristy’s daughter and Ash’s schoolmates, wonderfully weaving in all of Kristy’s fears in getting involved with Ash in the first place.

He’s fallen in love with the one woman he can’t have. Swoon.

Ash and Kristy are perfect together. She’s hit pause on her life in order to raise her daughter, and he’s gone through some serious stuff that made him grow up quickly. They balance each other out so well, and I absolutely loved how devoted he was to her, even during their time apart.

It’s not an easy path for these two, but the HEA is worth the rollercoaster ride that gets them there! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Exclusive Excerpt:

That knocks the look off her face. She starts sputtering, “Wait, what? A date? You? Over the dress extravaganza? That’s your baby and you forgot about it?”

I groan. “I know. I have no idea how either happened, Em.” I lean forward and put my head in my hands, partially covering my ears.

I think I hear her ask “With whom,” but I deliberately ignore her until she reaches over and snags my hand, ripping it away from my head. Not for nothing, she takes a few pieces of my hair along with it. Bitch.

“With who?” Framing my face with her hands, I know there’s no avoiding the question this time.

I breathe in and out while glaring at my sister. I know my reaction isn’t helping this situation. I mean, it’s not a big deal, right? But even I know I’m lying to myself as my heart picks up speed when I say, “Caleb Lockwood.”

She looks at me. I stare back.

A moment passes. Then two.

I’m expecting an explosion. The howling laughter as her hands drop is not the one I anticipated.

“Are you kidding me?” she gets out, gasping for air. “The ‘former groom’ asked you out on a date? When?” She falls back on her chaise, clutching her stomach as she laughs, her long legs draped on either side.

I debate picking up one of her gorgeous throw pillows and smothering her with it.

“Are you done yet?” I sneer, all my earlier calm rapidly disappearing.

“Not even close. This beats anything I’ve ever done by a mile, sister. You will never again be able to hold anything against me. This is my perma get out of jail free card.”

Just wait until she realizes I have photo evidence I’ve been holding onto. Forget about it. I’m a big girl. I’ll figure this out on my own.

Em is still laughing when I stand up to stomp out of her office. “No! Wait Cass, hold on,” she pleads, still chuckling. My hands are holding my phone and planner so tightly, my knuckles are turning white. “Please, Cassy, sit with me.”

Pausing, because Em pulled out a name only she ever gets away with calling me, I plop back down next to her, setting my stuff to my side on the chaise.

Em takes one of my hands and gives it a squeeze. “What are you more upset about, Cass? The schedule snafu, a date in general, or with Caleb specifically?”

“I have to choose?” I ask her in return. My voice is rich with derision.

“No, but it helps to have a place to start.”

Sighing, I squeeze our joined hands. “I think it’s because he throws me so off balance, I can’t quite catch myself. I mean, a few days ago, I thought he was getting married to two other men! He came to see me, took me out for coffee, and the next thing I know, I’m agreeing to a date.” I catch Em’s grin. I release one of her hands and start to pick at an imaginary piece of lint on my jeans. “I didn’t even think at what might be on deck. It was like I knew we didn’t have anything important going on for his brother, so it was okay to accept. What if we had another wedding that night? It’s bad enough it’s the dress extravaganza.”

She’s quiet for a few minutes. “What’s your heart telling you?”

“About Caleb?”

“No, about Santa Claus.” She rolls her eyes.

I narrow my eyes at her through my lashes.
