Book Blitz: Your Echo, by Katia Rose

Your Echo
Katia Rose
(Sherbrooke Station, #2)
Publication date: September 12th 2018
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance

How do you teach a rock star how to meditate?

The number one question on Stéphanie’s mind sounds like the start of a bad joke, and life would be a whole lot easier if she actually knew the punch line.

Her meditation coach job description said nothing about private lessons for the most infamous lead singer in Montreal, but somehow Stéphanie still finds herself sitting cross-legged on a yoga mat, right next to a pierced and tattooed music legend who’d rather be anywhere else.

Meditation classes are Ace’s final chance to convince his record label that the last bender he went on really was his last. The demons that have sent him to the bottom of countless bottles might not give a damn about ‘soothing rhythmic chanting,’ but it’s either this or game over for his career.

He’s not what she wants. She’s not what he’s looking for. Yet somewhere amidst all the incense fumes, the lines between student and teacher get blurred.

Even as their deep breathing exercises become nights filled with panting and gasps, Stéphanie can’t ignore the darkness that never quite leaves Ace’s eyes. It’s a darkness she knows far too well, and if she’s not careful, the cost of helping Ace find his way might just be losing herself.

Your Echo is part of the Sherbrooke Station Quartet, a series of steamy rock star standalones from author Katia Rose.

SNEAK PEEK:

And that’s how I end up singing ‘I’m On Fire’ in a Montreal KTV bar, stone cold sober, while people whip out their smart phones and I try not to think about all the places this video is going to end up. I just stare at Stéphanie from the raised platform that serves as a stage, watching her watch me as the rest of the crowd cheers. At first I’m only fucking around, adding an extra rasp to the words and playing up the sexuality in the lyrics to the point that it’s funny, but something changes the further I get into the song. The slow build of the synth—the tension that rises and rises but never quite breaks—catches up with me, and by the time I get to the long, wavering howls at the end, I can see Stéphanie’s chest heaving even harder than mine.

Author Bio:

Katia Rose is not much of a Pina Colada person, but she does like getting caught in the rain. She prefers her romance served steamy with a side of smart, and is a sucker for quirky characters. A habit of jetting off to distant countries means she’s rarely in one place for very long, but she calls the frigid northland that is Canada home.

Excerpt
Maggie
saunters through one of the bay doors in greasy coveralls, much like the ones
on the bathroom floor last night.
Two thick
raven braids like shiny rope trail over her shoulders. She has a completely
different look. Younger. Innocent. A stark contrast to the fierce woman last
night who could hold her own, not backing down no matter the situation.
I feast on
her delicate bone structure and smooth moves. Elegance seeps from her every
pore despite being covered in grease. I saw the same last night. Even naked and
fighting, or shivering and vulnerable, she was pure grace.
She’s both
queen and warrior. A young Elizabeth Taylor or Grace Kelly with her small, pert
nose; full, perfectly symmetrical lips, and high cheekbones; and her enigmatic
eyes.
The
bruising on her neck jerks me from my trance. She didn’t bother to hide the
marks from our altercation last night, and it’s the first thing blond boy
notices.
I gnash my
teeth together at the scarlet markings on her pale flesh. My fingerprints,
angry and raw, band her throat, and it’s as if I feel her thumping pulse again.
The violent
and sudden urge to hit something erupts within me. I don’t hurt women. Never.
But I also never give anyone the chance to kill me. The jury is still out on
whether that was why she was at the loft.
Golden Boy
attempts to touch, but she steps back. Undeterred by her rebuke, he leans in to
kiss her, hungry. Again, she shifts slightly, his lips brushing her cheek
instead of her mouth. His face flushes like a little boy put in the corner.
Boyfriend?
Friend? Either way, things aren’t all rosy, not with the move she just made.
He follows
her like a puppy dog inside the building. A slow, easy smirk slides across my
face. She’s got him by the balls. Better him than me.
My phone
vibrates, and I glance at the text with an encrypted attachment.
Paddy:
You’re going to want to see this.
The file is
brief, but enough to almost choke me with the details. Any residual shame from
the way I handled her last night evaporates.
Glimpsing
the sable-haired beauty disappearing from my view, my blood simmers, both
satisfied with being right about her and incensed at her deception. Last
night’s mix-up at the loft wasn’t a fluke.
There’s
more to Maggie than meets the eye. She may be the perfect portrait of class,
but I see under her veneer. She’s a fake.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

I have been waiting for Mace and Lyla’s story since I read the first Civil Corruption book, and Jessica Prince did not disappoint!

Lyla’s been in love with Mason since she was 10, and as a teenager she finally gathers up the courage to tell him… only to be shot down in the most humiliating way possible. For the next few years, she tries to move on with her life, while Mace’s feels the crippling loss of not having Lyla in his life any more. He turns to alcohol to numb his pain of having lost her, and it’s that addiction that threatens to tear them apart for good.

This story is much darker than the other Civil Corruption books have been. There are some definite triggers in here with Lyla’s life in the years before she and Mason reunite, so reader beware. I wish that we would have gotten more to Mace’s backstory, specifically WHY he felt he wasn’t good enough for Lyla. It would have been nice to have that insight. Still, I thought the story was marvelous, how they each helped the other heal and cope.

I love how she intertwines all of the characters and events from the other books. In each book, we’ve seen scenes from different points of view and it’s tied together so nicely! I’m sad to see this series come to an end, but Ravage was worth the wait! And I’m so glad that Tate and Lyla’s friend, Camden, is getting his own story next! I can’t wait!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Excerpt:

I stopped in the doorway, propping my shoulder against the jamb. Then I did what I’d done every night for the past four and a half years. I looked to that picture on her nightstand, feeling that familiar swell in my chest at the sight of it. Then I turned my gaze to her and watched as she lay on her stomach, stretched across our bed with her feet kicked up in the air while she scrawled in that old leather-bound journal I’d bought her years ago. It was something she’d done every night since we found it in a box in that storage building, taking a few minutes to herself to recount her day on paper. It was her own personal quiet time that she loved, and I always made sure to give her the privacy she needed to do it.

As if sensing my presence, she turned her head and hit me with a beaming smile. “Hey.”

“Hey, baby. Am I interrupting?”

“Nope,” she answered, using the ribbon to mark her page and flipping the journal closed. “All done. Will go down okay?”

“Out like a light.”

She bit her bottom lip and lowered her eyelids to half-mast as she pushed up and sat back on her haunches. The pale purple nightie she was wearing teased at all the beauty that lay beneath. “Perfect, ’cause I’m in the mood to play.”

About the Author:

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

MUSE-SBPRBANNER-RB.jpg

 Muse by Katy Evans
Publication Date: September 14, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Muse_Amazon.jpg

Synopsis:

A brand new sizzling standalone contemporary romance by New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

It was supposed to just be a quick trip to Manhattan.

My best friend was heartbroken. She needed support, and I needed inspiration.

I hoped to love the city. Bustling. Crazy. Inspiring New York.

But I ended up at the airport, heading home in the same condition that I arrived.

In a rut.

Add to all that, missing my flight and losing my laptop—the laptop, where the Best Love Story Ever sat on my hard drive.

Enter Noah Steele. Eerily familiar. Movie star. Heartthrob. Sultry romeo with bedroom eyes.

(But we’re not going there.)

He missed his flight too.

Noah is so smoldering, lip-bitingly hot, he’s not taken seriously as an actor, and is struggling to launch his career in New York.

He’s only ever had superficial girlfriends, so he’s having trouble showing true passion in his acting—the same challenge I’m having with this book.

When we met, we didn’t know that our connection would bring us the change we’d been craving.

That we’d be the very thing the other needed and didn’t know.

Each other’s muse.

*This book is a complete standalone and no previous reading is necessary to enjoy.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Block Shot, by Kennedy Ryan

BlockShotBTBanner

“Kennedy Ryan’s writing continues to amaze and inspire. She is a genius wordsmith and a prose poet. And in Banner Morales, she has created the perfect heroine for this day and age. Don’t miss this read. It’s everything.” — Emma Scott, Bestselling Author

Block Shot, Kennedy Ryan’s enemies-to-lovers, second-chance standalone romance is LIVE and FREE in Kindle Unlimited!

KRBlockShotBookCover5x8_MEDIUM.jpg

JARED

If I had a dollar for every time Banner Morales made my heart skip a beat…

The heart everyone assumes is frozen over.

Her anger is…arousing.

Every glare from those fire-spitting eyes, every time she grits her teeth,

gets me…well, you know.

If I had a dollar for every time she’s put me in my place, I’d be an even richer man.

I’m a successful sports agent because I assume “no” means you’ll think about it.

I’m sure what you meant to say is “Coming right up.”

They say even rich men don’t always get what they want,

but those men don’t know how to play the game. The trick is to keep them guessing.

Take Banner. She assumes she’s winning, but this game?

She doesn’t even know how to play.

BANNER

If I had a dollar for every time Jared Foster broke my heart, I’d have exactly one dollar.

One night. One epic fail. One dollar…and I’m out.

I’ve moved on.

I’ve found success in a field ruled by men.

Anything they can do, I have done better.

They can keep the field while I call the shots, blocking them when I have to.

And Jared has the nerve to think he gets a second chance?

Boy, please. Go sit down. Have several seats.

I’ll just be over here ignoring the man carved from my fantasies with a lust-tipped chisel.

Oh, I didn’t say the struggle wasn’t real.

But I’ve got that one dollar, and Jared won’t have me.

BLOCKSHOT_AVAILABLE NOW1.jpg

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Block Shot is a pretty darn perfect second-chance romance. Or enemies-to-lovers romance. Co-workers romance. Take your pick. Because while Banner and Jared had a short fling in college, they are now colleagues in the cut-throat world of sports management and they can barely stand the sight of one another. But that’s only because the sexual tension between them is so sizzling hot!

I love how strong Banner is. In a man’s world, she owns her femininity, and doesn’t take anyone’s BS. She has some personal issues when it comes to loving the skin that she’s in, but that only made me love her more. I want her as a friend! Jared checks off all the boxes for a book boyfriend: sexy, alpha, a bit demanding but not afraid to show his vulnerable side with the woman he loves.

A fantastic story of second chances, getting back the one who got away, and learning to love yourself! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Excerpt:

I stretch my arm toward the wall and turn out the lights.

With the light snuffed out, my other senses rise, hunting for her in the dark. The smell of her hair and her quick, shallow breaths. My sight adjusts until the heavy black curtain completely obscuring her fades to gray. Light from the outer room spills under the door, revealing just the shape, the outline of her, but still camouflaging details. I cup her cheek, taking a moment to appreciate the softness of her skin, the silky hair brushing my knuckles. I’m not an idiot. She wants the lights out because she’s self-conscious, but from my perspective, she has nothing to be ashamed of.

“I think you’re beautiful, Ban.”

“You do?” she asks, her voice hushed.

My words surprise me as much as they seem to surprise her, because I don’t say shit like that to girls. The prettiest ones usually seem to already know, which makes any admiration I’d express redundant. But Banner . . . she’s so beautiful, and I’m not sure she knows.

“I do.” I push the hair away from her face.

“Uh . . . thank you.” Her laugh isn’t much more than a breath. “The lights are out, so I’m not sure that compliment counts.”

“I know your face by heart. You have seven freckles here.” I swipe a finger over the straight bridge of her nose and drift down to caress her full lips and the tiny dent in her cheek her smile displays. “And a dimple right here.”

I explore the smooth skin of her nape, under a heavy fall of hair.

“Now I want to know your body, too,” I say softly. “Take off your clothes for me, Banner.”

After a sharply indrawn breath, she raises her arms. The rustle of her clothes—the sweatshirt, jeans, socks, shoes—being discarded whisper in the dark. I approximate her by touch, reaching for her arms and closing my fingers around the softness, the velvety skin. I lower my head and run my nose along her neck, discovering.

“You always smell so good.” I’ve wanted to tell her that since the first night we studied here.

“Pretty Pastel,” she replies, her laugh low, nervous.

“What?” I pause.

“The smell. It’s my dryer sheets. The scent is Pretty Pastel.”

“I like it.” I resume my exploration, running a palm over her shoulder, her collarbone until I find the soft, full weight of her breasts, testing them in my hands, cupping them, holding them, brushing the nipples with my thumbs until they pebble and her breaths come harshly.

“You like that?” I ask.

I see her head nod in the semi-darkness. “Yeah. It feels good.”

Her touch startles me in the best way, her hand finding my face, traveling over my mouth, eyes, and hair. I sense her approach, feel tiny pants of breath on my lips, and anticipation has me panting, too, shortens my breath and sharpens my senses. Her mouth seeks mine, eager and sweet when she kisses me. Her pleasure, her excitement matches, answers, fans mine.

I guide her back down to the couch, and with a hand at her shoulder, urge her to stretch out. I’d shave points off my GPA for a glimpse of her, but she doesn’t want that. I get it, so I settle for a taste.

Release Blitz: Flirting With Fire, by Piper Rayne

Everyone knows that if you play with fire you’ll end up getting burned…

What happens when you attend a first responder’s bachelor auction with your best friends? Well, if your name is Madison Kelly like me, your friends end up bidding on a date for you with your high school crush.

That’s right. Even back when I was ‘Fatty Maddie’ to all my classmates, I had eyes for the quarterback of our football team. Not like I was the only one.

Mauro Bianco may fight fires for a living, but he still sets my heart ablaze. One look at the rugged, muscular man he’s turned into and I want to slide down his pole.

One date. That’s all I’m committed to. A few hours and I can tuck him back into that tattered old shoebox in my closet.

As always, the universe has other plans. I never would’ve predicted that in a matter of days he’d turn from my dream guy into my enemy.

My brothers widen their stances, share a look of amusement and cock their eyebrows at me.

“Hate to break it to you, but Maddie didn’t bid on you. Lauren did.” Luca laughs while Cristian chuckles.

“I’m going out with a Madison and she didn’t go to our high school. Which reminds me.” I pull out my phone.

“Maddie is Madison, you idiot,” Luca says. “Her and Lauren were my year.”

“I went to high school with Madison?” I try to let her face come back to me, and though I can picture her bright blue eyes and long chestnut hair, nothing about her is familiar from high school.

“Yes, but she definitely wasn’t hanging out at the bonfires and football pep rallies.” Luca grabs his helmet off his bike. The only responsible thing I’ve seen him do in the last few years.

“Well, shit and she doesn’t even want to go out with me? Her friend bid on me?”

Luca straddles his bike with a grin. I look over to Cristian, but he’s putting his shirt back on and starts fiddling with his earbuds. They obviously think this conversation is over.

“Yeah, but we’re all in the same boat.” Cristian’s thumb moves over his phone screen. “Maddie’s awesome and I think you’ll have a good time with her.”

“She seemed pretty quiet and way too accommodating,” I say.

Luca kicks his stand up, letting the bike rock a little under him.

Cristian’s hands freeze on the screen of his phone. “And that’s bad?” he asks.

“I want a woman who knows what she wants. Has her own damn opinions. Doesn’t just agree with everything I say.”

Cristian peeks over his shoulder, a look of amusement that matches Luca’s. “You want a girl to come up and grab your nuts?”

“I want a girl who knows what her favorite food is, has an opinion about where she wants to go for dinner, likes whatever sports team she likes and doesn’t default to my favorites.” I stuff my hands into my pockets, digging out my keys for my truck.

“Well then, Maddie might not be the one. Like I said, she’s nice.” Cristian slaps me on the shoulder. “Treat her good though, okay?” He inserts one earbud.

“What do you think I’m going to do, leave her in Garfield Park?”

He puts his other earbud in. “That’s not even funny man. I have a friend in that district and the shit that goes down there…” He shakes his head.

Cristian loses the entire point of my statement—the fact I’m not a jackass. I’m not Luca.

“It’s one date,” I say. “And who knows, maybe she’s nice but still has a wild streak.”

Christian again glances over to Luca who’s smiling like he’s fucking Mickey Mouse.

“Well, good luck on your date,” he says.

Cristian jogs away and Luca’s bike starts up.

I head to my truck.

The conversation is over, but I’m curious now.

Where’s my damn yearbook?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: If We Fly, by Nina Lane

We fell in love. Then our world fell apart.

I wished so hard for Cole Danforth. And one day, he came true. He was my first crush, my first lover, my first and only love. He should also have been my last.

But in a split-second, we were ripped apart, our lives broken, my heart shattered. After ten years, I’ve returned to my hometown, the place of my greatest joy and darkest pain.

Cole is still here, but the beautiful boy I’d loved is gone. Now he’s a ruthless, unforgiving man determined to feed both my resentment and my lust.

Then our torturous past encroaches again, trapping us in a violent storm.

But this time, there is no escape.

Excerpt

While I’ll take Josie wherever I can get her, I’d rather be with her at the cottage than anywhere else. Reminds me of our cramped apartment where we were always bumping into each other and never had enough room.

As both a girl and an artist, Josie came with stuff. Hair bands. Fuzzy socks. Premium pastels. A thousand tubes of lip balm. I loved her stuff because I loved her. But I’d also been baffled by her inability to hang up a sweatshirt.

Her cottage isn’t any neater, which is just one reason I like it there. She doesn’t answer my knock. I unlock the door and let myself in.

She’s sprawled on the bed in the sunroom, her body moving with quick, shallow breaths indicating a restless sleep. One shapely legs rests over a pillow, and her T-shirt is pulled up far enough to reveal the curve of her ass encased in panties printed with purple butterflies.

Much as I love the sight of her, I dislike like her insomnia, the way she sleeps in fits and starts. Though I haven’t seen evidence of a nightmare, that doesn’t mean she’s not still having them. And going back to the accident site…

My chest tightens. I sit in a chair by the window and rub a hand over the back of my neck.

Two weeks. That’s it. Then she’s gone. After that…hell, you don’t have to think about after. You just need to make sure the truth stays locked down. That means keeping her away from Peterson and any reminders.

Or taking her away.

A roll of half-opened Lifesavers rests on the windowsill. Peeling it open, I find a red one and stick it in my mouth. Sugar and cherry spill over my tongue.

“You’re going to pay for that.” Her sleep-husky voice draws my attention.

She’s watching me, her arms around a pillow.

“I’ll share.” I push to my feet.

“You’d better.”

After crossing the room in three strides, I sink onto the bed beside her and lower my mouth to hers. Though I had every intention of talking to her first, her kiss fires me with heat. The tension in my chest loosens. I brush her silky hair back from her face and slide my hand over her cheek. Breathe in her strawberry smell. My unease slides away, overpowered by her soft sweetness.

She flicks her tongue into my mouth and over the cherry candy. After passing it to her, I lower her back onto the bed. My dick is already getting hard. I cup her breasts and rub my thumbs over her nipples, urging them to tighten. Josie sighs and shifts, hooking her legs around my thighs and wiggling her hips against me.

“You need to stop wearing jeans when you’re here.” She pushes me away and rises up to unbutton my jeans and shove them off. “Makes it hard for this spontaneous sex thing we’ve got going on.”

“I’m always hard for this spontaneous sex thing.” I shed my clothes before climbing on top of her again. Nuzzling my nose into her neck, I lick the hot hollow of her throat. I fucking love that tender little spot where her pulse beats so fast.

I inch my hand up her shirt, pulling it up far enough to expose her breasts, her pink nipples sticking straight up. The sight of her naked body jerks my cock into full hardness. Josie breathes out a moan and grasps my dick.

“God, Cole.” She shifts, urging me closer and parting her cherry-red lips. “Put it in my mouth.”

“Not this time.” With effort, I detach her hand from me and bend to kiss her breasts, pulling her nipple into my mouth. Her groan of satisfaction fires my lust hotter. I slide my hand between her thigh and into her pussy. Ah, fuck, my girl is already wet and primed, like she’s been waiting for me.

Moving lower on the bed, I push her thighs open. She rises to her elbows, her eyes widening. “Cole…”

When we first got together, it had taken her a long time to let me go down on her. No matter how aroused she was or how careful I was, she’d tense up and get self-conscious about being so exposed. But we’d both persisted, and I’d started with gentle licks of my tongue that soon had her panting and pumping her hips. And when she came…more than once, I’d been unable to hold back and ended up shooting my load all over the bedsheets.

That’s not happening this time.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

NOT A STANDALONE!

Nina Lane perfectly wraps up her What If duet with If We Fly. (Although, read the prequel. It’s so worth getting the backstory of Cole and Josie.)

Without giving too much away, this book was riveting. I read it in a single sitting. I have such a newfound appreciation for Cole, and i was so happy to see Josie come out the other side of the nightmares and visions that have been plaguing her for years.

An amazing conclusion to a gripping second-chance romance! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Blurb
What do you
do when you receive a wedding invitation from the one girl you always thought
you would marry?
Sam- Lauren and her twin brother were my best friends growing up. She captured
my heart from the moment I first saw her dancing through the sprinkler. I
always kept my feelings hidden though, standing back as she dated other guys,
afraid to cross that line and risk losing her. I even went out with a few girls
myself, but no one ever measured up.

Then that
dreaded day arrived, and I knew I’d lost her forever.
Lauren- Sam was always my constant. My rock. My best friend. That feeling, the
one I only got around him, had never been matched by another man. But Sam never
showed me he felt anything more for me than friendship, so I moved on…

Now,
standing at the end of the aisle, ready to walk to my forever, my mind spins
with what-ifs. Do I keep moving forward, knowing a man who loves me is at the
end? Or do I risk it all, for the one man I’ve always wanted, and hope he wants
me in return.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Inspired by a Thomas Rhett song, Marry Me was a lovely story of Lauren and Sam, who were so in love with one another but spent years apart. Neither one of them acted on their feelings, which led to Lauren marrying another man… Will she go through with it?

Sure, the story is a bit predictable, but Samantha Lind still crafts a wonderful tale. The chemistry between Lauren and Sam was sizzling, and I loved getting to see both of their interpretations thanks to the dual POV. I liked that the conflict between them didn’t drag on, and they got together pretty early on in the story, so that the rest of the book highlights their growing relationship as a couple.

Overall, a great book to curl up with. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
