Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Rising Star, by Susannah Nix

About RISING STAR

Alice Carlisle has problems.

Her sociology Ph.D. dissertation is going nowhere, she’s about to lose the TV extra job that’s been paying her bills, and her roommate is kicking her out. She needs to find a new place to live ASAP, so she can focus on finally finishing her doctorate.

Enter Griffin, one of Hollywood’s rising stars, who offers to let her move into his guest room if she’ll dog sit for him. Four months rent free in a nice house with an adorable dog is an offer Alice can’t turn down—even if she has major qualms about her movie star roommate.

Griffin Beach has it all.

He’s gorgeous, newly jacked, and poised to make the leap from TV show regular to box office superstar. Until his dog sitter bails, leaving him desperate to find somebody he trusts to look after his precious fur baby.

Enter Alice, the extra who’s never seemed to like him but loves his dog. Griffin has his doubts about the arrangement, but living with Alice opens his eyes to how empty his workaholic lifestyle has become. The more time they spend together, the more he realizes she might be exactly what he needs in his life.

Can Alice let her guard down and learn to trust again? Can Griffin stop trying to please everyone else long enough to show her how he feels? Will they get their Hollywood happy ending? Or will their love story bomb at the box office?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Ah! Rising Star is not your typical celebrity romance, and I think that made me love it even more. Alice and Griffin are both awkward, both have issues, and don’t necessarily like each other right away. Due to their roommate situation, they grow to feel comfortable with one another… and it’s a wonderful slow burn between them as that becomes something more.

Alice is quirky and adorable, totally relatable, and a character that I’d want to have as a friend. Griffin could have been a major A-hole considering how popular of a star he is, but he was sweet and sensitive and had such a big heart. How could you not love a guy who loves his dog that much?

Rising Star is the first book I’ve read by Susannah Nix. I more than enjoyed this story and will definitely be checking out the others in the series!

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Exmas, by Winter Renshaw

This Christmas, I’ll be getting a visit from a man in a suit, only it won’t be Santa.

Let me first say: Reed York was never my boyfriend. He was the pen. I was the company ink. Though if you want to get technical, we were more like colleagues-who-hated-each-other … with benefits.

Everything was fine until the charming jerk went behind my back, stole my promotion, and became my boss—literally overnight.

Refusing to work beneath him (professionally speaking and otherwise), I transferred 2,014 miles away to our Chicago division, and I’ve spent the past year trying to remember how much I hated his panty-melting smirk so I can forget how much I secretly loved the way his ocean eyes lit every time I walked into the room.

But he’s just announced a last-minute site visit the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and on top of that, he’s audaciously designated me as his ‘right hand gal’ during his visit. If he thinks he has a snowball’s chance in this hell at getting back in my good graces, he’s got another thing coming.

Reed York might be a man used to getting everything he’s ever wanted, but Joa Jolivet is a woman that never forgets.

He can put me on his Christmas list all he wants, but everyone knows naughty boys only get coal.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

Exmas is pretty standard fare as far as second-chance romances go, but it has a cute Christmas setting and a sassy, likable heroine who kept the story interesting.

Reed and Joa’s backstory is told over flashbacks, which gave more insight to what’s made him the guy he currently is. The prior relationship between them didn’t seem like a real relationship though…. but there was enough of a history there to get the second-chance hook, I suppose. While this story had some entertaining twists and turns, I just didn’t fall in love with the characters and struggled to connect with them for most of the story.

Overall, Exmas is a quick and entertaining read, perfect for the holidays! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Reed has always been two steps ahead of me, though in this case, as we make our way from the L station to my car in the parking lot, he’s two steps behind.
We said nothing to each other on the walk to the train, the only sound between us was the rolling of his suitcase wheels against a pitted concrete sidewalk.
Once we got on board, he sat three rows away and on the opposite side—in front of me, even. So I wouldn’t have to worry about feeling the burden of his stare on the back of my head for thirty straight minutes.
For most of the day, he left me alone. Tending to his audits and only coming out twice that I noticed.
I don’t know what he’s planning, only that he’s definitely planning something. He’s strategic like that. Everything he does is for a reason.
We climb into my car—the same Honda Accord I had in LA, though he always drove us in his Range Rover because growing up in that area, he always knew the best ways to get everywhere, always understood how the time of day correlated with the flow of the traffic.
I start the engine and the radio blares with Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, making me jump in my seat.
Reed laughs.
I crank the volume down and adjust the heat settings.
Heading down Forthwait Street a few minutes later, I can’t help but wonder what he’s going to think of my parents’ home. It’s a 1970s split-level that hasn’t been updated since they remodeled it in the late nineties. Everything is hunter green and burgundy and oak. It’s going to be a far cry from the Malibu manse he grew up in.
At least, I assume he grew up in a Malibu mansion.
He’s from Malibu, and he’s hinted at his privileged upbringing in the past.
Anyway, it isn’t that I care what he’s going to think. It’s not like I’m trying to impress him. I’m just wondering if he’s ever set foot in a house the size of his closet that hasn’t aged in almost thirty years.
I almost find it funny, actually.
Every time we’d travel, he’d pick these upscale houses, modern places with pools and art installations and private driveways and landscaping that rivaled paradise.
This couldn’t be further from his usual fare.
We round the corner and I pull into my parents’ snow-packed driveway, parking beneath the basketball hoop where I beat my brother, Logan, in five straight games of H-O-R-S-E last summer.
It almost feels sacrilegious to have Reed here.
“I’ll walk you in,” I say, killing the engine.
He climbs out, retrieving his bag from my trunk, and I head toward the garage, typing in my parents’ anniversary into the keypad.
The smell of engine oil and frigid garage air hits my lungs and I lead him to the door in case he gets lost in this behemoth.
A moment later, we step inside, wrapped in a hug of indoor warmth.
“Mom? Dad?” I yell.
I know they’re home. Both of their cars are here.
“Reed is here,” I yell again before climbing the stairs to the next level.
I still can’t believe my mom insisted on hosting him this week. Wait. Actually, I can believe it. She doesn’t just love to host and entertain, she lives for it. And I’m sure she took one look at Reed, sized him up as a successful, attractive man approximately my age, and thought she could do a little nonchalant match-making.
Reed might be two steps ahead of me, but I’m two steps ahead of my mother.
Making our way through the living room, we pass into the kitchen. The scent of warm, soapy dishwater—a smell I’ve always associated with home—fills my lungs.
Growing up, my father was a high school math teacher and my mother ran an in-home daycare. Our house always smelled like dish soap, laundry, apple sauce, and Cheerios. I swear the walls of this place practically radiate love and warmth and togetherness.
I can’t believe I ever thought I’d be happier in LA than here.
“Mom?” I call for her again.
“Coming!” A second later, she appears from the hallway. “Sorry. Was just putting away some fresh towels in Reed’s bathroom. You’ll be staying in Joa’s old room. She’s got a full-sized bed and it’s a pillow top, so you should be very comfortable.”
“I have no doubt. Thanks again for hosting me,” Reed says.
Kiss ass.
“Oh, sweetheart, it’s our pleasure,” my mother says. “And you know, Tom is just dying to meet you. He’s a numbers guy. I assume you are too if you’re a CFO. I’m sure you two could talk shop tonight over dinner. I’m making goulash. I hope that’s okay?”
Goulash.
I swear my mom makes that every twelve days like clockwork, and she has for as long as I can remember.
Chuckling to myself, I secretly love the fact that he could be eating the finest Chilean sea bass at some Michelin-star restaurant in Chicago tonight, but he’s going to be having ghoulash with Tom and Bevin Jolivet instead.
While the two of them are distracted, I sneak out through the front door, climb back into my car, and head to my place.
None of this feels real, and the hazy cast of snow flurries against a dark gray sky only adds to the surrealness.
This is not at all how I pictured any of this going.

When he accepts his friend’s invitation to come for a visit, he discovers so much more is waiting for him in the tiny mountain town than just a good time.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

This was a delightful, short and sweet instalove Christmas story! It took me less than an hour to read it, and I was completely smitten with Trig and Charlie!

Charlie is headed home to Aspen Cove for the first time in a decade, unsure of what the holiday will bring between her and her estranged father. While trying to beat the blizzard that is rapidly approaching, she encounters wounded war vet Trig and his adorable dog on the side of the road.

Trig is struggling to find a place in the world after his injury. He’s tired of being looked down upon because of his injury. He heads out to spend some time with his Army buddy, and his life changes forever when he meets spunky Charlie.

I loved how these two connected, and that Charlie never saw Trig as anything other than the strong handsome man that he is. They fall in love quickly, but the story is so sweet. This was a new to me author, and I’m curious about the other Aspen Cove residents now!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Briggs,

Remember when we parted ways in Germany? It was the day I broke your heart. What you didn’t know was that I was breaking mine too.

I thought they’d be enough–my husband and my son. That I’d get home and everything would go back to the way it was . . .

Before the war.

Before the ambush.

Before you.

But, no matter how hard I try, I can’t erase the trauma we shared. I can’t seem to forget the way my heart beat in time with yours.

The truth is I’m lost without you.

I thought the nightmare was over when they pulled us from that hole in the ground, but nothing could have prepared me for the war I’d face at home.

I know it’s selfish of me to ask, but, please, I have to see you one last time. . .

All my love,

Scottie

Sunny SHelly’s Review: 5 Stars

An epic love triangle! Heartbreak Warfare is the kind of book that will stick with you long after you finish reading it. It is a lengthy one, and full of angst, and I absolutely could not put it down. My heart was torn over whether I wanted Katy to be with Briggs or her husband, Gavin, and I really didn’t know which way the story would end!

The woman that Katy is when she heads off to Baghdad for her deployment is not the same woman who returns home four months later, after 56 days in captivity as a POW. What she sees and experiences is not pretty — and the authors provide a vivid description of what she and Briggs go through.

The cocky, arrogant soldier becomes her saving grace in that bunker, and both of their lives are changed forever. And once Katy got home, how my heart broke for Gavin, who just wanted his wife back!
2.jpg
These authors wrote a fantastic story of not only the hardships of war and being a military couple, but the hardships of matters of the heart. Katy’s every decision is wracked with guilt, and she’s caught between two worlds, in love with two men.

I would love to read about what happens in the 10 years before the epilogue! This book was amazing, and I will be keeping it on my reread list. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

In Her Space, the stunning conclusion to the Stars Duet by Amie Knight is LIVE!

In-Her-Space-PRINT-FOR-WEB.jpg

I was reunited with Livingston Montgomery in the broad sunshine of a Carolina morning, right where she belonged; in the light.

It’d been too long since I’d seen her face.

She had changed, but so had I.

I was Adam Nova, reformed bad boy.  Now, successful business man.

I had it all, except for the one person I’d always wanted, and now I was back to claim her.

She was living in the shadows, just a shell of the former girl I knew.

But it didn’t matter that she tried to hide from me in the dark.

I’d follow her into the deepest depths of hell.

I just wanted to be In Her Space.

Book Blurb:

Love is weakness.

Which is why Annabelle Mills vowed a long time ago to never let it destruct her. A former pageant queen with a bite equally as lethal as her bark, she’s interning at her dream job on the set of the highest-rated home design show on television. Everything in Annabelle’s life, though it may be cold and isolated, is going exactly as she always planned.

Until her ex-high school sweetheart moves to town. The same boy that she cheated on, once upon a time, essentially breaking both of their hearts. But no one knows the full story, and being vulnerable enough to open up about it is not on Annabelle’s checklist.

Hate is fuel.

The kind that courses through Boone Graham’s veins and allows him to shut out everyone around him. As the hottest rookie on Austin’s professional baseball team, he should be spending his days hitting homeruns and signing jerseys. Except he’s seen dreams ripped right out from under those closest to him, leaving them with nothing.

Without a college degree, he’ll never take the risk of pursuing his real dream. But when he runs into the girl who took a mallet to his heart and stopped it beating, attending the same university might just be the biggest challenge he’s faced yet.

As the semester unfolds, the line between love and hate is blurred. And with the amount of baggage stacked between them, together is the last thing they want to be.

That’s the thing about hearts, though. They develop plans all on their own.

EXCERPT:

Boone

I only have an hour in between my workout and the film session that the hitting coaches want us to attend.

My entire schedule since moving to Austin has been busy as hell and completely out of whack. Between getting my class schedule figured out, sprinting across campus to get to the buildings, dealing with my moving company, figuring out where to park my car in front of my building, practicing with the Triple-A affiliate team I was drafted to and everything in between … I’m fucking wiped.

I’ve been scouted for the major leagues since my sophomore year of high school, so I thought I’d been semi-prepared for what was to come, but my mind feels like it has been put in a blender for the last two weeks. I had so not been prepared. It was as if I was hobbling around in the dark in my new reality, trying to grasp at things before they moved on me.

I needed to get it the fuck together. I am a professional now and having a career as a professional baseball player would only get harder from here.

From the few times I’d visited Austin for tournaments or the odd family trip, I remember we’d gone to Big Cheese’s Grill. They boasted the best burgers in town, and it was close enough to campus that the place was always packed with students and professors alike.

I open the door to the restaurant while glancing at my iWatch to check the calories versus fat burned during my workout.

And I slam right into a body.

I bounce back, shocked at the person who just rammed into me. I fumble to hold on to them, to keep our gravity from sending both of us flying. I fail, and the body falls backward, the door slamming into my back. I absorb that blow and keep upright, thank God, or I would have been sprawled flat on top of whoever just plowed into me.

“Seriously?! Watch where you’re going!” An angry, high-pitched tone fills my ears.

My head is down, trying to collect its scrambled thoughts, as I reach for whoever I just knocked to the ground. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize you were coming out—”

The air and words leave me as I pull her up. Her hand is still in mine as we stand face-to-face, my surprise mirrored back at me. Those lips, the lashes, the eyes a rich, deep, soul-searching brown. The freckles across the bridge of her nose that make her look more innocent than she actually is.

A current of tension radiates back and forth between our interlocked hands, and I can smell the glass of wine she must have just drunk on her breath. It’s sweet with a bite of alcohol, and my mouth waters for a drink. I haven’t thirsted for alcohol in five years, yet in one chance meeting, Annabelle has me reaching for a bottle. She’s poison to me, makes me want to do crazy things. I drop her hand as the thought crosses my mind, as if she’s burned me.

“You should really watch where you’re going. Or did you knock me down on purpose?” Annabelle sniffs.

I scoff, “Right, I often go around pushing women to the ground on purpose. I see the cold hard ice hasn’t melted off your personality, Annabelle.”

And a woman she is. So much more grown up than I remembered her. She’d always been beautiful but gone was the gangliness of teenage years. This is a woman who stands in front of me, curves abound and an unseen knowledge of the world to match. I couldn’t help but get that jab in there.

“And I see you’re just as focused on yourself as ever. You never did care what anyone else was doing, did you, Boone?” She folds her arms over her chest and my eyes stray to her boobs in a sizzle of heat between us.

We’re like a bunch of children fighting like cats and dogs out in the street. How can she still pull out every insecure and immature trait within me? My brain is moving seconds slower than it usually does, and I know I’m standing here staring too long. Even though I hate Annabelle Mills, I can’t help but memorize every detail about her for the first time I’ve seen her in about five years.

“Move.” Annabelle pushes past me, not using any manners, and starts to stalk down the sidewalk.

Talk about rude. She’d always been aggressive, harsh, and just a little bit more high-maintenance than any of the other girls. It’s what had drawn me to her. And then seeing those glimpses of vulnerability, that’s what had made me stay. It was addicting feeling like you were the only one who got to see the nice side of the mean girl.

I should walk into the restaurant. I should pick up my to-go order and drive back to my apartment where I’ll eat a quick lunch and change and go to the practice facility.

But a flash of Annabelle in the bar the other night dances through my head. And her callous words just now piss me off even more.

She always did have the perfect way of getting under my skin and driving me wild. When I’m around her, I forget who I am. I turn into some raging bull, with a fuse shorter than the bombs Itchy and Scratchy use on each other.

The stupidest thing I could do right now? Stomp after her, yelling, in the middle of a crowded downtown street.

So that’s exactly what I do.

“You really haven’t changed a bit!” Oh, fuck. What am I doing?

Annabelle rolls around, her eyes sparking with rage. “Nope, still the same cold, heartless bitch you dumped.”

“Yeah, like I said, I can see that.” Lord, my mama would be so disappointed in me agreeing with a woman that she was a bitch.

“Well, no one said you had to be around it. You’re the one who moved to my city. You’re welcome to leave.” She waves around like I should just get out of here.

I fist my hands in my hair. Christ, she’s so aggravating. “No can do, I’m getting paid to be here.”

She rolls her eyes. “Like I’m not? Have you watched TV lately? Or did you take one too many fly balls to the head? I know there weren’t a lot of brain cells in there to start.”

Fuck her. Now it’s time to really piss her off, get under her skin like she’s under mine. “Oh, you mean that show you play house on or whatever? They’ll get bored of you when the next eye-candy pageant queen comes along.”

I swear Annabelle could spit nails at me if she willed it right now. “You’re an asshole, Boone Graham. You’ve only ever cared about yourself and where you want to be. It was silly of me to think you’d ever think of someone but yourself.”

I drop the anvil. “Says the girl who cheated on me. Who lost her virginity to another guy.”

People around us are starting to stare, to really look at the two people arguing openly on the street. It’s not a good idea for me to stick around any longer; people know who I am on a national level and being seen fighting with a girl, who someone will inevitably social media stalk and find out is my ex, is not good publicity.

Except I can’t stop staring into Annabelle’s eyes. They are furious, yes, but there is something more there. I’ve really … hurt her. I’m shocked, to be honest. I didn’t think I could remotely hurt this girl, who self-identifies as a cold, heartless bitch.

But there it is. The raw flash, miss-it-if-you-blink second of real pain that flickers through those mocha pools. I open my mouth to say something, to take it back, maybe apologize, but she speaks first.

“You have no idea.”

Her tone pulls at my heartstrings, it’s low and somber. And then she melts into the crowd, giving no explanation of what I have no idea about.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Promise Me Forever, by Jennifer Woodhull

Today we have the release day blitz of PROMISE ME FOREVER by Jennifer Woodhull! Check it out and grab your copy today!

Title: Promise Me Forever

Author: Jennifer Woodhull

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Promise Me Forever:

He Knows How Lucky He Is…

That Doesn’t Mean He’s Happy

I get it – A lot of folks would kill to be in my shoes. I make my living playing guitar. That beach anthem you’ve had on repeat all summer – the one with the pickup trucks and drinking beer by the bonfire… I’m the guy playing that killer guitar riff on it.

The problem is, I hate my job.

I’d rather be playing classical music. I want my legacy to be more than the answer to some question in a game of music trivia. In a guitar-town like Nashville, though, gigs playing my kind of music are few and far between.

My brother-in-law lines up an audition for me with a classical musician looking for someone to play on tour, and I jump at the chance. When I meet the brooding star for the first time, though, I know I’ve signed on for a lot more than I bargained for. She may be young, but she’s endured pain enough for a lifetime, and more. Peeking through that broken armor of hers is more beauty than I thought was possible in one person.

I’ve never been the type of guy to settle down with one woman. She’s making me rethink that, and just about everything else I thought I knew.

She’s looking for forever. I just hope that’s a promise I can keep.

This was the first story I’ve read by Jennifer Woodhull, and I was quite impressed!

Rome is a musician looking for something more meaningful than playing on another country rock album. When he gets the opportunity to play for Scottish singer Lauren, it seems like the perfect opportunity.

Except that Lauren is an icy bitch. It’s not her fault, as she’s been through hell and back recently. It’s hardened her, and she believes if she keeps everyone at arms distance, she won’t be hurt again. But there is something about the sexy Southerner that she is drawn to, and vice verse. A beautiful love is born between the two of them, but when Lauren gets the wrong idea about Rome and a colleague, will she shut Rome out or believe in what they’ve built together?

I adored this book, the journey that Lauren takes in trusting in her heart again and in trusting Rome. His relationship with his sisters is awesome, and now I need to go read Georgia and Celia’s books! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Available Now: The Virgin Romance Novelist Chronicles, by Meghan Quinn

From USA Today Bestselling Author Meghan Quinn, comes a hilarious romantic comedy that will touch your heart and cause you to roar with laughter as you escape into Rosie Bloom’s attempt to write a romance novel.

Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found its way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch…

Can you say briar patch in a romance novel? What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?

Goodness, I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m a virgin attempting to write a romance novel and I’m having an impossible time trying to write a passionate and swoon-worthy sex scene worthy of being published, thanks to my lack of experience.

My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen, step outside my comfort zone, and gain some real life experience through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups. But losing my virginity is proving to be much tougher than expected…

This is the story of my awkward, humiliating, and slightly terrifying life, but like all romance novels, I know it will end in a happily ever after. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

**WARNING: READ IN THE CONFINES OF YOUR OWN HOME DUE TO RANDOM OUTBURSTS OF LAUGHTER. IF YOU ARE ADDICTED TO CLIFFHANGERS, GETTING YOUR HEART RIPPED OUT OF YOUR CHEST AND FEELING LIKE A BULLDOZER JUST PLOWED THROUGH YOUR STOMACH, THEN THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR YOU. IF YOU LIKE PEEING YOUR PANTS AND CRYING FROM LAUGHING SO HARD, THEN PLEASE CONTINUE READING.

Excerpt
I continued
to eat my dinner under Jaime’s intense, watchful gaze. As delicious as the meal
was, I was losing my appetite with each bite. In fact, my gut was cramping, and
a tingling between my legs was distracting me. Why did he affect me this way?
“Mr. Zander,
aren’t you going to eat?” I asked.
A saucy
smile curled on his lips. “I’m getting rather hungry and think my meal might be
nicely heated up now.” Slowly, he lifted the silver dome covering his entrée.
My eyes
practically popped out of their sockets. Artfully displayed on the platter were
Rihanna’s diamond-studded brassiere and thong.
“Gloria,
are you done with your dinner?”
Speechless,
I just nodded. I couldn’t eat a bite more even if I tried.
“Good. Then
stand up.”
As if under
a hypnotic spell, I did as he asked.
He rose to
his feet and came around the dining cart. In one swift, smooth move, he swept
down the back zipper of my dress, swooped it over my head, and tossed it to the
floor.
Quivering,
I stood semi-naked in front of him, clad only in my lacy gray lingerie and silk
stockings. And my heels.
His lustful
eyes roved up and down my body. I suddenly became very conscious of the scar
above my heart that peeked out from my bra, but to my relief, he ignored it.
“I like the
way you match your undergarments to what you’re wearing.”
Madame
Paulette had ingrained that in me. In a state of semi-shock, I mumbled a
throwaway thanks.
He
continued to study me. “You have such a sexy body. Custom-made for your
lingerie line. But it’s such a shame you don’t enjoy what you sell. Let me show
you how.”
My body,
indeed curvaceous, was a trembling mess. Words stayed trapped in my throat
while I tried to steady myself on my feet.
“Relax,
Gloria. Trust me.” He shoved the dining cart out of the way. There was nothing
standing between the two of us except a blazing storm of electricity.
He squatted
halfway to the floor and clutched my thighs with his warm, manly hands. With
his teeth, he snapped open each garter. I stood motionless as he slid my silk
stockings down my long legs. His hands brushed against my skin, sending
goosebumps all over me. I anchored my palms on his broad shoulders as he
removed my shoes and stockings. The garter and my skimpy lace bikinis were the
next to hit the floor. He slipped the shoes back on my feet and then stood up
and removed my bra. My scar in full view, my body didn’t move a muscle. A
contemplative smile spread across his face as he gazed at me.
“Ah,
Gloria, you are so, so, beautiful.” He reached for the diamond-studded
undergarments and handed them to me. Please put these on.”
What?
“Don’ t
worry. I had them thoroughly cleaned. They’re like brand new.”
It wasn’t
Rihanna’s crotch I was worried about. It was mine. I was on fire.
“Put the
thong on first. I want to stare at those exquisite tits for as long as I can.”
My nerves
on edge, I bent over and slipped each high-heeled foot into the leg openings of
the thong and then pulled it up until the patch of diamonds covered my patch of
gold. The diamonds formed a heart—the iconic signature of Gloria’s Secret. All
our merchandise bore the insignia heart somewhere. There was even a heart
instead of a dot over the “i” in the Gloria’s Secret logo.
He examined
me. His eyes seared my flesh.
I felt
light-headed. The heat of his gaze mixed with the warmth of the buttery
leather. He was making me melt. Hot juices gathered between my thighs.
He smiled.
“Perfection. Now, the bra.”
With
jittery fingers, I put the back-closing bra on backward and fumbled with the
clasp. After hooking it, I twisted the bra around, slipped my arms into the
straps, and plumped my milky-white globes into the push-up cups. Hearts of
diamonds surrounded my erect nipples.
Jaime gazed
at me reverently. “You look more beautiful in these works of art than I ever
imagined.”
My brows
rose to my forehead. “You bought them for me?” I asked, finding my voice.
He let out
a light, sexy laugh. “No, I bought them for me to look at on you.”
Semantics. A chill ran down my spine in
anticipation of what was next.
