CHASING FOREVER by Jessica Prince is AVAILABLE NOW
I’ve never been the kind of man to give much thought to the future. When I pictured what forever looked like, I didn’t see a picket fence, a wife or a bunch of little rugrats running around. I had the dog, and that was good enough for me.
Or it had been, until a woman with dark, silky hair and sad eyes stumbled into my life and shook everything up.
The shadows that haunted Merritt Bell tugged at something deep inside me, bringing to life a primal instinct to protect that was stronger than anything I experienced before. The second I laid eyes on her, I wanted to slay all her demons. Be the knight in shining armor who could bring a smile to her beautiful face.
But before that could happen, I had to earn her trust.
When a family emergency brings her back to town and directly into the path of her estranged, abusive husband, I don’t hesitate to put myself in the middle, even if it means placing a target on my back that my badge can’t protect me from.
Now she and her nephew are living under my roof, and there isn’t anything I won’t do to keep them safe. I might be one of the good guys, but when it comes to protecting the woman who’s stolen my heart and the boy I’ve grown to adore, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.
I finally know what my forever looks like, and there isn’t anything that can stop me from chasing it down and holding on tight.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars
After getting to know Merritt a little bit in Twice In a Lifetime (Second Hope #3), I was so happy to see her find happiness with Blythe’s brother, Tristan, in Chasing Forever!
The prologue of Chasing Forever overlaps with part of Twice In A Lifetime, when Merritt has been severely beaten by her husband and, with Blythe’s help, is able to leave town. The story then picks up a few months later, when she returned to town to take temporary guardianship of her young nephew, Levi, after her drug-addict brother is incarcerated. Being back in Hope Valley is a risk for Merritt because it’s placing her back in the same town as her estranged husband.
Tristan had felt an immediate connection with Merritt when he helped her leave town, and has been somewhat obsessed with her ever since. When she has no place to live with Levi, he offers to let them move into his home. While I didn’t love that Merritt had come back to town, putting herself back in a dangerous situation, I did enjoy the friendship that grew between her and Tristan, and how he also developed a very sweet relationship with Levi. Through their friendship, and eventual romance, Merritt learns that she’s stronger than she thinks she is, and blossoms into a totally different woman than the one we met in the previous book. And having known Tristan from the time he was a little boy in Nona and Trick’s book (in the OG Hope Valley series), I loved seeing him all grown up and getting a family of his own.
As with every other Jessica Prince story, the heroine finds herself in a dangerous situation, leading our MC to play hero. IHowever, I’ve come to like that predictability from Prince, and was happy to see Merritt and Tristan get to their HEA with Levi.
Chasing Forever is a standalone, but I think that Merritt’s story will make much more sense knowing the full scope of her backstory if you’ve read TIAL first.
I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily left a review.
