Sunny Shelly’s Review: The Planner & The Prince by Maude Winters

Release Date: November 3
Sanne’s perfectly planned summer is about to hit a royal snag…

Sanne Holmes-Nordgren is one of the Midwest’s preeminent wedding planners. She can make anything work on nearly any budget but she’s about to be tested by the biggest challenge of her career – a semi-royal wedding. All is well until she meets a key member of the wedding party – Prince Paul.
Paul is spending the summer with his brother finding himself, playing nanny to a toddler, and is escaping some of his own demons when he runs into Sanne. He soon realizes she loathes him and is desperate to prove he’s not the jerk she assumes he is.
The two go round and round, but the sexual chemistry between them is undeniable.
Will Sanne let herself fall for Paul’s love of life and offbeat philosophy?
Will Paul finally convince Sanne he is worth stepping out of her comfort zone for or will she continue to curse him?
Will the summer forever change the trajectory of an overly-organized planner and an adrift prince?
This steamy enemies-to-lovers romance transports you to a quaint small town on the shores of Lake Michigan where you are enmeshed in an unforgettable summer. This reverse grumpy-sunshine story is sure to make you laugh and fall in love with the whole cast of characters in the Spare Change extended universe.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
The Player and the Prince is the first book I’ve read by MAude Winters, and I enjoyed it very much. Paul is an adrift prince and Sanne is a by-the-book wedding planner. They definitely get off on the wrong foot, and the hatred between them grows as she plans his brother’s wedding. Yet so does the sexual tension between them.

Prince Paul has kind of put his royal duties on pause for the summer while he’s temporarily nannying for his niece. Sanne has her life and business in town. Getting Sanne to take a chance with Paul is just one obstacle facing this couple. How would they ever be able to make a relationship work?

I really liked how Sanne and Paul brought out the best in each other. I loved Paul and his quirks. I appreciated the neurodivergence representation (ADHD) and Paul’s positive outlook. Sanne is more of a cynic, and they balanced each other out nicely. Seeing these two fall in love and find a commonality with one another after how much they hated each other at the start of the book was lovely.

I enjoyed the Planner and The Prince very much and look forward to reading more from this new-to-me author! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
