OAKLEY

My sister’s wedding is across the country. And I don’t fly. So I do the next best thing: I schedule an Uber. Do the calculation. That’s 2,854 miles, and 44 hours in a car with a complete stranger. You may be wondering what could possibly go wrong, and you’d be right to because who in their right mind would ever Uber across the country with someone they don’t know? Me. That’s who. And everything that can go wrong? Pretty much does.

BASH

My friends and I have a bet. $10 000 for whoever can get the worst rating as an Uber driver. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. Because my passenger proves to be more trouble than she’s worth. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to see it through. You see, I went from being a trust fund brat, to a broke brat, and my friends have no idea. Which is why tolerating my passenger is my only option. The question is: will we kill each other on the road, or will we fall into bed together along the way? Only time will tell, and until then we’ll just drive each other batsh*t crazy.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

UberG#asm is the first book I’ve read by Tamsyn Bester, and I will definitely be checking out more of her Dating Apps series! Bash and Oakley were so much fun — I could perfectly picture the silly situations in my mind as they traveled across the country in his dad’s vintage Mercedes as client and Uber driver!

The personal relationship developed between them quite nicely, even if Bash did start out by trying to be the worst Uber driver ever to win a bet. I wanted to throttle Oakley’s family at times — her stepmonster was just evil! But Bash coming to her defense was a lovely turning point for these two. They opened up to each other in a way that neither of them was expecting to as they drove from Manhattan to Napa Valley, totally blowing their preconceived notions of the other away as they got to know one another.

My one complaint about this book is that I wanted to see more from Bash as he realized that he was falling for Oakley. I saw it coming, but I wanted to read his moment of realization that he was having bona fide feelings for her. Otherwise, this book was a damn good romcom, light and easy read that will leave you feeling good at the end!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
