Sunny Shelly’s Review: Love Like Her, by Claudia Burgoa

Love Like Her by Claudia Burgoa is now live!

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa charms readers in this romantic comedy that’s whimsical and fun.

Eros Brassard and I met at JFK years ago while trying to catch two different planes. We had an instant connection that was too powerful to deny. Love happened, and we hooked up.

After our crazy romp, we agreed we couldn’t be together. We live too far away to make it work. Yet ever since, destiny has brought us together. Our paths have crossed so many times it’s obvious fate has intervened in our lives.

But there’s always something else–or someone else–getting in the way. Until now.

I’m hired to plan the wedding of Eros’ best friend, Misty. He thought Misty was the one who got away… until I walked in.

Will circumstances push us apart again?

Or is it the perfect time… maybe… for us to finally admit the truth?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars
Another great story for the Broussard family with Eros and Olivia! I love how their relationship spans more than a decade, multiple cities, how they are always so close yet so far, sharing a few moments before passing each other by again. Fate keeps bringing these two together over and over again, and in between their moments, mere weeks, of being lovers, a strong friendship is built as they stay in touch through phone calls, emails and text messages.

But when it matters, they are there for one another. Through her family tragedy and his, they build each other back up, support one another, until it’s time to to say “until next time…”

I’m not gonna lie, part of this story had me feeling like, enough already! But then once I got to the last 25%, when they are finally in the same city, I actually cried as it all unraveled and then was built back up. Eros and Liv have an incredible base to their relationship, and I loved how falling in love kind of snuck up on them both.

I thought that Claudia Burgoa did a great job of using text messages and emails to further along this story as the years to by. Keeping Eros and Liv connected even while they were building their own lives. I didn’t love the subplot with his friend Misty… it kind of felt shoehorned in, but I see why it was needed to prompt Eros and Liv along to making their own commitment.

This story overlaps the events of the other two books in the series, and Eros’ sisters and their guys are all secondary characters, so it was great to catch up with Nyx and Persy! I have to say, that Broussard family tragedy was not expected at all!! I am curious now about how the 4th book in this series will fit in!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
