Eastern Lights was an emotional, gut-wrenching rollercoaster. And why shouldn’t it be? It’s what I’ve come to expect from Brittainy Cherry. I loved, loved, loved Connor and Aaliyah’s story, aka Cap and Red. From their first meeting on a cold Halloween night where they didn’t exchange names to their randomly running into one another two years later to their falling in love, I loved every moment of this story. The last five chapters had me sobbing, and it is so worth the book hangover!
We first met Connor in Southern Storm as Jax’s annoying teenage sidekick. Now he’s all grown up and a real estate mogul in NYC. We get to know why he was the way he was as a kid, and how he got to where he is now. And my heart broke for Aaliyah — all she wanted was a family of her own, a place where she felt like she belonged. And Connor is a workaholic who avoids commitments and relationships because he’s scared of heartbreak. But together these two complement each other so well, and truly save one another in ways they never expected.
