Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
Piper was always in love with her childhood best friend, Danny. Even though he was in love with someone else. When Danny tragically dies, he leaves custody of his daughter to Piper. And while Piper loves Ainsley to pieces, the fact that the kindergartener has been selectively mute ever since her dad dies is added stress. Piper works off some of that stress with her broody roommate Easton, but will things ever be more than friends with benefits?
Then there’s Carter, one of her older brother’s best friends who was also friends with Danny. Carter knows all about Piper’s childhood and how she was in love with Danny. He is comfortable and a reminder of all that she’s known, but also a reminder of all that she’s lost. In the end, will Piper move forward with a new life or make something out of the memories of her past?
This story is beautifully written. Piper is drowning in so many emotions. And once she makes her choice, everything is crystal clear in her mind. It ends on a wonderful HEA — and even a glimpse at a story I really hope happens between Ainsley and Milo!
