Sunny Shelly’s Review: Doughn’t Let Me Go, by Teagan Hunter

Slice Book 3
Release Date: February 6

It was just supposed to be one night.
No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.
Only it’s a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again.
I just didn’t expect it to be at my job interview…which he’s conducting.
Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I’m doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.
Except it’s much harder than either of us anticipated.
What’s a few romps between friends?
No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.
Sounds simple, right?
Right…

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

When 28 yr old single dad Porter meets a hot 20 yr old college student at the local pizza joint, they have an immediate connection, only share first names and have an amazing one night stand. But Dory-Like-The-Fish was meant to be in Porter’s life, because they are both stunned when she ends up being one of his nanny interviews the following morning.

While things could have been awkward between them, Porter and Dory handle the situation well, amd she really makes it a point to not accept hand-outs from him just because she’s broke and he’s a millionaire. But Porter’s been where she is before, and the understanding he has for her situatino went a long way for me in shipping this couple.

I love that she withheld kissing on the lips the night they first met, because that means something more to her. When Dory finally gives in, it means everything to both of them… and I was on pins and needles waiting for it to happen.

As for Kyrie, she is a precocious little girl and kept her dad and nanny in line! The girl cracked me up! If you’ve read the other books in this “Slice” series, there are plenty of appearances from the other couples, as both Porter and Dory have ties to them. But I didn’t feel like I was picking up in the middle of the story; the friends add to the story, but you don’t need to know their backgrounds to understand what’s going on with Porter and Dory.

Doughn’t Let Me Go is a wonderful story about finding the one who makes you happy and hanging on for dear life. Dory has baggage, Porter has baggage. They both had troubled childhoods, but they are a perfect match for one another.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Meet Teagan Hunter

I’m a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I’m not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I’ll ever read, and I never say no to brownies.

Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.
