Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars
Feisty Fighter and Hot Boxer! This is a great addition to this series of standalones by Julia Kent. Fiona’s story opens on a much more serious note than the others, however, when an unstable parent of one of her preschoolers breaks into the school. Fiona goes all protective, and her kick-ass actions go viral.
The little boy she was protecting is the nephew of her middle school nemesis, Chris “Fletch” Fletcher. He’s also a friend of Will’s from Fluffy, so there’s another tie to the social circle. While Fiona has been able to keep her distance from Fletch over the years, they are suddenly put in one another’s paths over and over again. And eventually, new-age Fiona has to stop fighting the signs the universe is sending her about Chris.
This story is a wonderful enemies-to-lovers romcom. The bear scene when Will, Mallory, Chris and Fiona go to the cabin had me dying! So unexpected and so funny. There are some super-sweet moments between Chris and Fiona that weekend, and Fiona realizes how much time she’s spent fighting something that she didn’t have to be.

Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge.
Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times
bestsellers and more than 19 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her
books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing
in 2019.From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy
joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for
a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men’s
room toilet (and he isn’t a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).
She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the
only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet
paper rolls.
