Sunny Shelly’s Review: Now Or Never, by Stella Rhys

Title: Now or Never

An Irresistible Series Standalone

Author: Stella Rhys
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 14, 2020
He’s ten years
older. My brother’s best friend.
And for the next
two weeks, he gets to have me in all the ways he’s ever wanted.
The last time I saw
him, he still called me kiddo.
But fast forward
five years, and more than a few things have changed.
He’s still Iain
Thorn. He’s still my brother’s best friend and the painfully sexy man I clearly
never stopped wanting. But me?
Apparently, I’ve
grown up in more ways than he can resist.
I’m going to hell
for looking at her like this.
She’s too young for
me. Too sweet and naive.
She has no idea
what I would do to her.
But since the day she
walked back in my life in that tight little dress, I’ve felt myself caving. I
said I’d never in my life get involved with Holland Maxwell.
But since I’m
already going to hell, I might as well make it worth it.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
I really disliked Iain when I started reading Now Or Never, but he grew on me. A lot. And by the time the truth comes out about why he just went radio silent all those years ago, why he’s such a workaholic, why he doesn’t let himself feel… my heart broke for the battered little boy who became such a hardened man.

The relationship between Holland and Iain starts out as a one-night-stand, but Iain finds that he can’t keep away. And for Holland, having her teenage dream come to life? She’ll take that any way she can, for as long as she can. When Holland’s brother, Adam, reminds Iain that he can’t run from his past forever, he decides to run from Holland instead, rather than show her who he really is. Of course, it’s like a hot second before he realizes that Holland may be the only person who truly sees him for who he really is.

Holland and Iain’s relationship is hot and steamy, but the evolution of their deeper intimacy is a wonderful slow burn. They have years of history, and it’s a wonderful connection. I’m shocked that Holland is as normal as she is, considering her psychopath mother’s behavior! Wowza!

This is an interconnected standalone, with several characters from the other Irresistible books, so I loved getting caught up with Drew and Emmett and where their lives are now! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
