Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
The concept is great: Fallen reality star Theo Legend — dubbed Theo-dog by the media — hires reality competition runner-up Hadley Holiday, a dog trainer, to “train” him on how to rehab his reputation. Theo has a major crush on Hadley from watching her on TV, and he is pleasantly surprised that there is a spark between them from Day 1. But what he never expects is that Hadley will save his heart, mind and soul from a life of loneliness and self-destruction.
Schlosser brilliantly contrasted the simple, happy family life that Hadley has led against the opulent, cold life of wealth that Theo grew up in. When Theo finally confessed the details of his childhood, my heart absolutely broke for him!
Hadley — and her quirky, crazy parents! — healed Theo in so many ways. She truly saved him, showed him what unconditional love is like, and even helped him heal his very fractured relationship with his brother, Aiden. (I would LOVE to see Aiden get his own story!!)
Untrainable was a laugh-out-loud romcom, but it was also an extraordinarily sweet romance between a damaged guy who doesn’t think he’s worthy of love, and the simple dog trainer who proves him wrong.
