Series: Rascals #3
Put that at the top of the list of ‘Things I Wish I’d Known (Before I Was
Panting in His Arms During a Sizzling Midnight Make-out Session.)’
My bartending gig at Rascals was supposed to be a fresh start for me. Now I’m
juggling drink orders AND red-hot sexual tension – but I refuse to let Liam’s
smoldering stares throw me off my game…
Until one late night leads to another. And another. Liam has a reputation as Mr
Heartbreaker, but he’s revealing a whole new side of himself: funny, playful,
and most definitely NSFW. But this rascal has made a rule of never getting in
too deep, and despite the real connection between us, something’s holding him
back.
Can we find a way to put the past behind us and move on? Or will my new
beginning end in heartbreak before it’s even begun?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars
I love hanging out with the Rascals crew! In Heartbreaker, we find out why Liam is such a stick-in-the-mud. His childhood wasn’t the best, and as a result, Liam is a total control freak, practically married to his job. (Not the bar business, but his actual job. Although, I’m not quite clear on what that is, exactly!) Liam even has a checklist of requirements that the women he dates must meet, so that he can ensure they are stable, driven, focused and career-oriented.
But Liam is a bit boring. His neat and orderly world is turned upside down after a sexy stranger dances with him one night at the bar, and they share a steamy makeout session in the back alley. There’s a connection with this spontaneous woman that Liam can’t explain and doesn’t understand, and he’s beyond shocked to discover that she’s been hired as Rascals’ new bartender.
Juliet, meanwhile, is a retired ballerina, not only trying to adjust to civilian life, but still grieving the end of her dance career due to an accident a year ago. Needing to shake up her life (and earn some cash), she takes a bartending job at Rascals, and her world is changed forever. Not only does she find friends in Alex, Kelsey and Hayley, but there’s something incredibly intriguing about Liam. Little by little, Liam lets his walls down and Juliet brings out a fun-loving side to Mr. Calm, Cool And Collected.
The spark between them is undeniable, but Liam runs so hot and cold with Juliet throughout much of the book. I kinda wanted to smack him! Especially when, after he’s the one who ends up pushing for exclusivity, he doesn’t even talk to her when he’s presented with an opportunity that will ultimately affect them both.
Once he finally realizes that he was a grade-A jerk, Liam does make a grand gesture to win her back… but I think Juliet should have made him work a little harder before forgiving him!
While Heartbreaker is a standalone, it is part of the Rascals series, about a group of best friends and the bar they own. The books are all interconnected with characters that cross over, and it’s always fun to catch up with the couples from the previous books. So do yourself a favor, and read the others as well!
