Sunny Shelly’s Review:  5 Stars

What a great debut novel!

The day Liv buries her husband and high school sweetheart, Adam, she also finds out that she is pregnant with their first child. Utterly alone with no idea what to do next, Liv blurts out the news to her one-time best friend, Luke, whom she hasn’t seen in the five years since they all graduated high school.

Why? Because Luke has been in love with Liv for longer than she was dating Adam, and an argument between the two guys left Luke with no other choice than to leave town. But knowing Liv has no where else to turn, Luke offers to have her be his roommate.

I loved the sweet relationship between Liv and Luke, and how torn he was about having Liv back in his life, how the secret he was keeping from her would destroy her, and managing his still-there feelings for Liv in terms of his long-time girlfriend, Trisha. Luke’s turmoil is so clear, and it made him so endearing as a hero. (Yes, he breaks things off with Trisha long before anything happens with Liv, so there is no cheating.)

And Liv so clearly struggles with her growing feelings for Luke and her grief over losing Adam. Especially when she finds out the cause between the guys’ estrangement. This story was so sweet and genuine, and I just fell in love with this adorable couple.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

About Kelsie

Kelsie prides herself on writing straight from her own heart, which is how she fell into sweet contemporary romance. She’s a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she’s not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, playing with her “monsters”.

She adores chocolate, photography, baking, chick flicks, and running. And now that she’s actively pursuing her writing dreams, she’s set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not eat an entire batch of cookies in one sitting.
