New Release: Fall, by Kristen Callihan

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways.

In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.

Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.

Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.

An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.

Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.

Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.

All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

I clear my throat. “While I was eating my ice cream—”

He snorts, but remains tense.

“I thought about how you looked familiar to me.”

“It was the guilt haunting you.”

“Or … And I’m just throwing this out there. You’re Jax Blackwood.”

He actually flinches. “Fuck. You recognized me.”

“It was bound to happen. John? Really?”

His chin tips in a pugnacious angle. “It’s my name. John is … me. Jax is who I am onstage.”

I picture him performing, all electric energy and raw passion and sheer talent. It’s a sight to behold. Hell, a couple of really hot fantasies have been induced by that sight.

While I’m lost in a teen fantasy, his eyes dart around like he’s expecting someone to pop out from behind a snow mound and take his picture. Then his gaze snags on me. My expression must be slightly punch drunk, because his entire body leans away from mine. Not exactly flattering to realize he’s afraid I’ll try to lick his face or something.

I snap my gaping mouth closed. “Oh, calm down. It’s not like I’m going to start squealing and try to grab your junk.”

His expression lightens a little. “I think if you grabbed my junk, I’d be the one squealing.”

“True. I have surprisingly strong hands.” When he stares at me in horror, I hold them up and wiggle my fingers. “Yoga. It’s highly effective.”

“My balls just flinched in terror.”

“Consider yourself warned.”

He snorts but then glances at our building. “You really live here?”

“Do you really think I hunted you down?”

John—because I can’t seem to think of him as Jax—runs his hand through his damp hair, which makes his biceps bunch and twitch. “Yeah … that does sound crazy.”

Crazy. This whole situation is. One day, I’m offered a four-month home in a dream condo, the next I’m standing on my stoop talking to a rock star. The biggest legend of my generation. I honestly don’t know how I’m not stammering right now.

“I can’t believe we’re neighbors,” I say without thinking.

His green eyes glint in the afternoon light, but he pauses and looks at me more closely. “You know, not to sound conceited here, but you’re kind of leering at me right now.”

My chin snaps up like I’ve been hit, even as my body flushes with embarrassment. Shit. I totally had been leering. No, not leering. But I had been staring at him in awe. Ugh. “Well, you do sound conceited. I was simply making polite eye contact.”

Liar McLiar-Face.

New Release! Cards Of Love: Nine Of Swords, by Bella Love-Wins

They hired me to keep her safe. I never planned to give her a baby.

My job was to do what I do best.
Watch my target. Protect them at all costs. Kill anyone who gets in my way.
My weapon of choice? Anything with a sharp edge.
But the second I see my newest client, I know I’m in trouble.
The pain in her eyes, her sinful body, those sky-high, take-me-hard, spiked heels I can’t ignore.
In one night, we share more than I thought possible.
Our secrets.
Our torments.
Her bed.
I never expected she’d give me so much more.
Until I find out she’s having my baby.
Then out of nowhere, the threat of danger becomes real.
But I’m ready.
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means laying down my own life.

Warning. This dark and dirty romance is steamy, dangerous, and swoon-worthy. If you like slightly over the top romance stories with a dominant alpha male, this is for you! Standalone romance with no cliffhanger and a naughty happily ever after to give you all the feels.

BLADE
“I should go,” she whispers in a tone that’s as hesitant as the tentative expression on her face as she sits there on the side of the bed.
I want to see her shed all of that bravado for a minute.
Or for a night.
I’d like nothing more than to hold onto her and pull her body onto my lap, pressing her round, firm ass into my stiff member.
And to tell her to relax.
To let it all go.
To just be.
Or to be… with me.
As in on her bed, against the nearest wall, or any flat surface as she so desires.
“No. You shouldn’t,” I say firmly, and flash a hint of a one sided-smile. “This is your room. I’m the one who should get out of your hair so you can relax. Unless you want me to stay. We can keep talking… or I can stay and we can just…not do any talking at all. Up to you.”
She shrugs one shoulder and looks at nothing in particular, her head still facing forward as though looking my way would give too much away. “I don’t know… it’s been a while since I opened up to anyone about myself. Or maybe I never have. I supposed we can keep talking.” She throws me a glance, and I see a bit of playfulness flash across her face. “Wait, what did you mean by we can just not talk?”
“There’s a whole lot going on… between you and me. Tell me you don’t sense it.”
“Sense what exactly?” she pries shyly.
“This. Us. Chemistry. Attraction. Fire. Whatever you want to call it. Tell me you don’t feel that, Sydney,” I demand in a low, raspy whisper.
“All right. There’s… something,” she admits after a long pause.
I slowly lower our locked hands, letting the back of her hand rest on my knee. “Good.”
“So… now what?” she asks, and I hold my tongue, avoiding an answer, waiting for more from her.
That’s when I notice the very subtle way her body turns toward me. Only her leg nearest to me moves, parting slightly, showing more of her bare inner thighs. And I start to wonder if she’s wearing anything under this blouse. The hem of it rests at her upper thighs, not revealing much, except for the hint of a triangular line where her thighs touch and meet her mound. My mouth starts to water as I imagine what she must taste like. Honey, maybe. Or fruity. Definitely sweet and sinful.
“You’re staring,” she adds, shifting a little in her spot. “I’m really not great at… all of this.”
“Tell me what you want,” I say in a low, growling demand and lick my lips. Her little movement gave away something critical. I can smell her need. Her scent. And it wasn’t there before now. I know because every one of my senses is highly attuned, trained to detect the slightest of differences around me. Sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. What it tells me is that not only is she not wearing any panties, but that the simple connection of our hands, our proximity, our sitting in her bed, our earlier conversation, it all has made her wet with arousal.
It’s unmistakable.
And I’m the cause of it.

I’m a Wall Street Journal (Begging for Bad Boys, April, 2017) and USA Today (Begging for Bad Boys, Alpha for the Holidays, Shifters in the Snow: Bundle of Joy, Shifters in the Shadows) Bestselling Author.

Blog Tour: He Loves You Not, by Tara Brown

Title: He Loves You Not
Author: Tara Brown
Genre: RomCom
Publisher: Skyscape
Publication Date: October 23rd, 2018
How can a fidelity test possibly go wrong? In this sweet and sexy romance, international bestselling author Tara Brown counts the ways…
Among her superrich friends, Lacey Winters never minded being the “poor one.” That is, until her tuition money and big dreams vanish overnight. Now Lacey has a plan to make some extra cash—a devilishly brilliant plan. For a fee, she’ll test your boyfriend to find out if he’s faithful or a cheating jerk. Her next target: a slick and sexy trust-fund playboy. Unfortunately for Lacey, his charms aren’t just legend. And before she knows it, she’s under his spell.
It was bad enough that Jordan Somersby’s father forced a spoiled “society princess” on him. Then Jordan had to go and find his dream girl—the beautiful, fun, and down-to-earth Lacey. And he’ll do anything to prove he’s sincere. But pretty soon it’ll be Lacey’s turn to prove that this is not just a game.
Because, when it comes to mixing love and deception, nothing is what it seems. And Lacey and Jordan are about to face the ultimate test.
I believe growing up in a really small town gives a person a little advantage when it comes to the imagination. You need one or you go mad.
Needless to say, mine saved me. After it got me into trouble first, that is. That’s the problem with a vivid imagination, all the lies you tell.
I am happily married with two daughters.
I have two giant dogs, two savage cats, and a penchant for a glass of red.
Also, I drag my bread through the sauce. I can’t help myself, bread is life.
According to my age, I am meant to be a responsible adult, but it isn’t going well at all. I would still head off to Hogwarts tomorrow and I suspect there isn’t a single wardrobe I haven’t crept into, hoping to find the door to Narnia. And don’t even get me started on the King’s Road, I get lost.
Fortunately, I am an international bestseller so I have wormed my way into a quirky or eccentric category.
Thank God for that.
I am represented by Natalie Lakosil from the Bradford Literary Agency and am published traditionally with Montlake Romance.

You know those stories where the smart girl tutors the dumb
jock? This isn’t it.
Blair
What’s the probability of insulting the one guy on campus I
need to help me pass statistics? If I knew, I wouldn’t be standing in front of
Wes Reynolds begging him to tutor me.
Basketball player, sexy, arrogant, always sleeping through
class… these are the things I knew about him. What I didn’t know is that he is
a seriously smart jock.
Wes
What’s the best way to get rid of the peppy and unrelenting
girl that keeps asking me to tutor her? If I knew, I wouldn’t be staring at her
tan legs and attempting to teach her statistics.
Sorority girl, fine as f**k, determined, ball buster… these
are the things I knew about her. What I didn’t know is that she is all the
things I didn’t realize I wanted or needed.
Or that one semester with her would change everything.

Excerpt
“Rise and shine,” Joel says as he nudges me. I’m not asleep.
I wish I were. My eyes are closed, hat pulled down, but there’s no sleep to be
had.
“She’s coming back for more.” The tone in his voice is
almost inspired.
I don’t have to look up to know who he’s talking about, but
I do anyway. She’s the most entertaining thing about this class. Open my eyes
and lift the hat, turn it backward so my view isn’t the least bit blocked.
Today she’s wearing little pink shorts that show off tan
legs, yellow tennis shoes that don’t match but somehow work, and a bracelet
with a little charm around her left ankle. It’s too small to make out, but I
stare anyway. Her brown hair is pulled up in a high ponytail, and she has a
megawatt smile plastered on her face. A big bow on top of her head is all she’d
need to look like head cheerleader of my high school fantasies.
“Wes, hey, can I talk to you for a second?”
“What’s up?”
I’m hella impressed by the balls on this chick. She’s put
her foot in her mouth, not once, but twice, and damn near insulted the entire
student athlete population, but she keeps coming back. She has determination
and grit. I admire that about her.
I also am not in the least bit offended by her assumption
that I’m a dumb jock. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised she came right
out and asked who my tutor was, but I know exactly what it looks like. I’ve fed
into the stereotype for years, doing nothing to make it seem otherwise. Well,
nothing but get straight A’s.
“I have sort of a favor.”
“What’s up?” I stand to walk with her out of the class.
“The tutor center was a bust. I know you said . . .” She
looks like she’s choosing her words carefully. “Do you have old study notes or
tests from previous semesters?”
“Still convinced I’m not capable of passing on my own, huh?”
“I’m sorry, really, no offense. I just want in on whatever
study materials you’re using. I can’t afford to fail another test. What’s your
secret?”
The secret? I’m fucking smart. Photographic memory smart and
statistics is my whole world, but I can’t resist messing with her.
“You know, saying no offense doesn’t make whatever you’re
saying less offensive. It just makes you feel better about saying something
offensive.”
Joel snickers behind me. I just can’t resist fucking with
her. She’s making it too easy.
“Sorry. I’m really so sorry. What about the other guys on
the team? Anyone have any awesome math tutors who aren’t available to us
non-jock students? I can pay.”
“Couldn’t say for sure, but I don’t think so. Most the guys
hold their own academically.” I lean in catching a whiff of her hair. It smells
good—like sugar cookies or candy canes or something sugary sweet that I want to
sink my teeth into. “Shocking, I know.”
Her shoulders slump in defeat, and I can tell she’s finally
accepted that I have no answers for her. At this point, I almost wish I knew of
someone to send her to. I don’t exactly travel in circles that clue me in on
secret study sessions and underground tutor societies.
“Thanks anyway.” She gives a little wave with the hand
clutched around the strap of her backpack.
Joel catches up to me, and we watch as she crosses the
campus toward the library. “Dude. That chick . . .”
“I know,” I say, and we continue to stare after her
completely awe stricken.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: We All Fall Down, by Logan Chance

44271272_534527167029539_2466762235360313344_n.jpg

We All Fall Down by Logan Chance Author is only 99c for a limited time + FREE in KU!!!

WE weren’t meant to be together. At eighteen, I knew this. Being ‘white trash’ didn’t mean I was stupid about ALL the ways it was wrong. Evan Lacuna was too old for me, too handsome, and I was raised to never trust a cop. I should have listened.
I didn’t want to FALL for him. But I did.

Years of trying to forget can’t erase the secret we share. Love can cost you everything. Because, sometimes, the secrets are so ugly, the good guys so bad, there is nowhere to go but DOWN.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

I’ve read a few Logan Chance books now, and was expecting a typical romcom like the others I’ve read. So I was pleasantly surprise that We All Fall Down was a bit… different… kind of second-chance romance.

Evan tries so hard not to fall for Bella, but the heart wants what the heart wants! So I had a million questions when he ghosts Bella…. the twist in this book truly took me by surprise!

This story was an entertaining read, perfect length for a binge read in one sitting. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Excerpt
When James
let go of her hand he reached for their coffees. “Do you want to ruin this
perfect espresso with sugar?”
“Yes,
please.” Mila needed a bit of a rush which didn’t include James’s body next to
hers, or his hands and fingers, which reminded her of that morning.
James
spooned some sugar into her black espresso and stirred it. “Here you go. Butter
bomb?” he asked as he shifted the plate with pastries closer to her.
“If I have
to.” She licked her lips, her mouth watering just looking at the
picture-perfect pastries. Her mind could list a hundred reasons why she
shouldn’t, health-conscious as she’d been forced to be. But this… she wasn’t
going to resist.
He smiled
at her. “You have to. You’re in Paris.”
Caving in,
Mila took a bite with a soft moan. “They’re sinful.”
A soft
smile tugged at his lips as he gazed at her, but he said nothing as he ate his
own. When he tossed his coffee back and put the cup down, he looked at her,
serious now. “What do you want for your life, Mila?”
She
blinked. As if anybody had ever cared. “I want to see the world, and not only
from its rugby stadiums.”
“There’s
much more to it, I agree.”
“I want to
find my niche in art. I’ve been floundering lately. I need some visual…
inspiration, to find my way back to what I love doing.”
“And this
is why you are in Paris?”
“The
primary reason.”
He hitched
his eyebrows. “I see.” A smile sparkled in his eyes. “You want to elaborate on
the secondary… and tertiary reasons?”
Heat shot
to her cheeks. How did he know? Stacey’s freaking to-do list with losing her
virginity the first thing on said list. “Already accomplished.”
He leaned
into her, the warmth of his body enveloping hers, making her clench her legs
together, overly aware of their thighs that had been rubbing against each other
for the past half hour. His lips were at her ear, grazing softly from the top
to the soft bud of her earlobe. “I’m glad I could be of service.”
The
sensation of his intimate whisper shot to her core, making her innards pool.
“Don’t go there,” she murmured. She wanted to sink and hide under the table.
Did he think that she’d used him? Had she? The thought was too much, overridden
by that very familiar tingling inside her lower belly. There was a buzz in her
body that demanded attention—his attention—as a memory or two of that morning
flitted in her mind’s eye. There was only one way to switch this feeling off.
By giving in to it.
Oh no no no. She shifted in her chair, breaking the
connection between their thighs.
He laughed
and leaned back, his hands cupped behind his head. Totally relaxed, his gaze
rested on her—soft, but containing something she couldn’t place.
Author Bio
I’ve always been drawn to the magical escape of books and
the journeys they take us on without leaving the comfort of home. I’ve been
fortunate to have traveled to France, and this book was inspired by a visit to
Paris some years ago. We were walking in some narrow alley in the 1st arrondissement
of Paris, when I noticed a door with a single plaque with Club Privé written on
it. My imagination got going, and at some point, things got pretty wild. I’ve
wanted to write for a long time, but life had plans of its own. I’m grateful to
finally have time to write, and love writing contemporary and erotic romance in
far-flung settings. Taking readers on a journey of their own with my books is
part of the plot. Bon voyage!

That was his weakness and weaknesses could be exploited. When he was offered
the chance to make something of his life, he knew the cost might be too high.
But faced with losing everything he held dear, he took the helping hand;
however, everything comes at price and Preston paid dearly.
Being a rich girl in a rich town should have been easy. But
when you’re the daughter of an influential businessman who traded your silver
spoon for his belt buckle, money couldn’t buy happiness, it could only buy the
makeup to hide the bruises. Despite this, Skye Divine had found her solace…he
was her world. But he abandoned her when she needed him most and without him,
she faced a choice: run for her life or stay in the desert and die.
She’d made it this far on her own and while her life might
be falling apart, she’d rather be homeless and starving than go back home. But
when her luck finally runs out, she may be left with no option.
Then two worlds unexpectedly collide and this time? The
tables have turned.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

This is the first story I’ve read by Heather Shere, and it was kind of intense, deals with the subject matter of child abuse, but is definitely an interesting read.

Skye Divine is Preston Hart’s whole world. But when the trailer park kid is backed into a corner with no other options, he makes a deal with the devil in order to secure a better future for himself and Skye, who has grown up in the lap of luxury. Or so he thought. Flash forward 5 years, and Skye is homeless, living on the street, and Preston has spent every day since he returned from Russia looking for his lost love. A chance encounter puts them back in each other’s lives, and now that their roles are reversed and he can take care of Skye the way that he’d always wanted to, Preston can’t believe that he has her back.

Well, it’s really not quite that simple. Because there are a bunch of secrets that these two were keeping from one another, and they have a mess to work through before they get to their HEA. I wished that they would have been completely honest with one another from the start, though. It takes them so long to get to discussing what happened 5 years ago, and I was itching for that conversation to be over so I could see how they adapted to their new reality. But I didn’t feel that happened as fully as I would have liked to have seen. Th

Overall, I really liked these characters, and the pacing of the story flowed nicely. Preston and Skye went through hell and back while they were apart, which made their reunion all the sweeter. The climax to the story is predictable, but where else would you go with a manipulative father like the one they were fighting against? If you are looking for an overcoming obstacles romance and don’t mind the potential triggers that come with the character of Skye, then Divine Hart and its HEA is definitely worth checking out!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
