The Beautiful Hearts Duet is Complete! Long Live The Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott is Now Live!

Never again would I allow my heart to become the plaything of someone else.
Never again would I let a man (or men) come between me and my goals.
Never again would I love without feeling the fullness of that love in return.
Not until I knew it was real. And if that took me a lifetime to find, so be it.

Those were my vows, and after all that had happened with Connor and Weston, I was determined to keep them. To protect my heart.
And then he came home, and my vows became his promises.

He held my heart in his hands with reverence and care.
He helped me find my soul’s greatest purpose in life.
He loved me with a love so pure and vibrant, I knew I’d never feel anything like it in a hundred lifetimes.
It was real.

Until it wasn’t.
Until it all came crashing down when I discovered the deep love I thought I’d found was nestled in a web of lies—so soft and silken I hadn’t noticed it was there.
Until it was too late.

I fell for Connor Drake. I didn’t want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow.

I’m in love with Connor…so why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, he’s the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet there’s electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself can’t keep me away.

But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear I’ll never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middle…for both of them.

Blurb
Five guys. One bar. And a whole heap of sexy trouble…Sawyer Landry is sexy, rugged, charming… and did I mention sexy? Back in
college, we were best of friends – which meant I secretly hid an epic
unrequited crush, while he dated every other girl on campus… and then told me
all about it the morning after.

Now I’m back in Chicago for the first time in years, and Sawyer is determined
to rekindle our friendship. I swore, I wouldn’t put my life (and heart) on hold
for him again, but just one look at his handsome face and I know, he’s still
the only man for me.

But this time, things are going to be different. No more sitting around,
waiting for him to realize his dream woman is right in front of him. No, I’m
going to make him see, I’m not just one of the guys anymore.

But can I really go from sidekick to soulmate? And will this playboy bachelor
realize, true love is waiting – if he’d only take a chance?

Find out in the hot new standalone romance from Katie McCoy!

#1 Rascal

#2 Wingman

#3 Heartbreaker

#4 Soulmate

#5 Troublemaker – Dec 10th

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Man, Sawyer is an idiot! This Rascals book tells the story of Sawyer and his college best friend, Gabi, who has moved back to Chicago after five years. She was in love with him way back when, but he had her so strictly in the friend zone, she was invisible as a woman. Her feelings for Sawyer were the reason she left town to begin with, but a job opportunity and her mother’s health brings her back home.

Gabi had no plans to look up Sawyer, but fate stepped in when they ran into each other on the street. It doesn’t take long before they fall back into their old habits, but this time, Sawyer has noticed how much Gabi has grown up. There is a nice lead up to the moment when they first kiss — the build up and the anticipation played into the payoff!

But Sawyer thinks the kiss was a mistake, and especially thinks that sleeping together was a mistake. But Gabi convinces him to go for a friends with benefits relationship, hoping that the commitaphobe will see how good they can be as a couple.

I didn’t like Sawyer’s reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship; his parents were miserably married, so your hurt the one you are supposed to love. And Gabi means too much to him to do that to her. It’s not until he loses Gabi a second time — but this time knowing how amazing they could be as a couple — that he realizes how wrong he’s been. The Grand Gesture to win her back is a pretty good one!

Katie McCoy offers another great standalone in this awesome series with Soulmate. Sometimes your person is right in front of you. And it takes Sawyer losing Gabi twice — and seeing a younger version of themselves — to make that connection.

I loved getting updates on the other couples from this series, and I cannot wait for Dante and Hayley’s story in the final installment!! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Cover Reveal: All I Need, by Jennifer Van Wyk

ALL I NEED_CR.jpg

All I Need, an all-new emotional standalone from Jennifer Van Wyk is coming October 25th and we have the brand new cover for you!

All I Need_5x8 Paperback.jpg

It took me years to get over my fiancé sleeping with another woman. I thought my luck with men had finally turned around until I walked in on my new fiancé with my maid-of-honor.

I’m done with men entirely. I’m definitely old enough to know better than to let that happen to me again. Trust isn’t something I have in me to give… to anyone. At least, Not anymore.

Besides, even if I wanted to give someone my everything, I have nothing left to give. Now, if Walker could be just a tad less handsome, his relationship with his nephew not quite as sexy and his body… well, let’s not get crazy. His body is just a gift to womankind.

The moment I laid eyes on Ellie, I knew she’d be full of spit and vinegar. And why wouldn’t she be? She’d just caught her fiancé with her maid of honor – and they weren’t chatting about the upcoming nuptials.

I can’t help but push her buttons, she’s sexy as hell when she’s fired up. Or cooking dinner with Miss Polly, or… well, any time, really. Maybe having her work for me in my vet clinic wasn’t the smartest move I’ve ever made considering I can’t stop my body from aching for her.

She said she was done with men entirely, that she’s broken but I can’t help but hope that she realizes she’s All I Need.

Today we have the release day blitz for GOING DOWN ON ONE KNEE by Christina Hovland! Check it out and get your copy today!

Title: GOING DOWN ON ONE KNEE

Author: Christina Hovland

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Going Down On One Knee:

“An utterly charming opposites-attract-story. Hovland perfectly balances simmering sexual tension with a surprising amount of emotion, and the stomach-flip-causing ending is the perfect example of why I read and love romance.” – New York Times Bestselling Author, Lauren Layne

Number-crunching Velma Johnson’s perfectly planned life is right on course.

That’s a lie. Sure, she’s got the lucrative job. She’s got the posh apartment. But her sister nabbed Velma’s Mr. Right. There has to be a man out there for Velma. Hopefully, one who’s hunky, wears pressed suits, and has a diversified financial portfolio. He’ll be exactly like, well… her sister’s new fiancé.

Badass biker Brek Montgomery blazes a trail across the country, managing Dimefront, one of the biggest rock bands of his generation. With the band on hiatus, Brek rolls into Denver to pay a quick visit to his family and friends. But when Brek’s sister suddenly gets put on bed rest, she convinces Brek to take over her wedding planning business for the duration of her pregnancy.

Staying in Denver and dealing with bridezillas was not what Brek had in mind when he passed through town, but there is one particular maid-of-honor who might make his stay worthwhile.

Velma finds herself strangely attracted to the man planning her sister’s wedding.

Problem is, he ticks none of the boxes on her well-crafted list. Brek is rough around the edges, he cusses, and doesn’t even have a 401(k). But trying something crazy might get her out of the rut of her dating life–so long as she lays down boundaries up front and sticks to her plan…

Exclusive Excerpt:

He shoved his key in the door and turned the knob. His gut took a hit like it always did when Velma was in the room. The lights were on, and she sat at the table with a girly teacup next to her laptop.

She wore pink flannel pajamas and her fuck-me glasses—the rimless kind that sat high on the bridge of her nose. Every so often her glasses would slip, and she would haphazardly push them back, making her look like a librarian. A sexy librarian who did dirty, dirty things to rebels who returned books late and didn’t pay their fine.

“Hi, Brek.” She glanced up from the light of her computer screen, a sucker stick poking out of the edge of her mouth. She popped the lollipop from between her lips, and his dick stirred to life. Down, boy. A few days ago, he’d found a canister in the back of the pantry filled with all sorts of candy. He’d never seen her enjoy her private stash, but he resolved right then and there to keep it stocked.

“Hey.” Bare-chested, he tugged his towel around his neck and held it at the ends. He couldn’t seem to form a coherent thought, so he evacuated to his room to change into a dry pair of shorts.

With a firm word that his dick needed to behave, he grabbed his post-workout recovery shake from his shelf in the fridge and shook it. Velma had labeled his black mixer bottle with a sticker that read B.

Early on, he had decided to find her love of labels cute. That and the swear jar she’d decorated with multicolored ribbons and placed in the center of the kitchen counter. He had already prepaid by dropping in a hundred-dollar bill. She hadn’t found that cute at all. Nope, she threw a tizzy about it. Didn’t matter, though. Her tizzy was fuckin’ adorable.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Dear Jane, by Kendall Ryan

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***
He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.

And if he wants a second chance to make things right, then Wes has to figure out how to put Jane first.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews The Fear Of Falling, by Amanda Cowen

The Fear of Falling
Amanda Cowen
Publication date: October 8th 2018
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

When Ella Jones’ twenty-first birthday ends with a bang – literally – she never imagined it would be with her best friend since freshman year, Ryan Owen.

A year later, after their so called “mistake”, they’re still best friends and about to rock their Senior year at the University of San Francisco. But when Ryan returns from spending a summer in Australia and brings back a friend, Liam George, who takes an immediate liking to Ella, Ryan starts to question the Aussie’s intentions with his best friend. The trouble is, Ryan has a girlfriend of his own, and Ella and Ryan swore they would never cross that line again – until they do.

They try not to let their second slip up affect their friendship, but when Spring Break forces them to vacation under the same roof; and Ryan’s ex walks back into his life, Ella is shocked by a fierce stab of possessiveness. And when Ella continues to see Liam, Ryan finds himself plagued by unfamiliar jealousy. With their friendship strained for the first time, Ella and Ryan face an alarming truth: Maybe they can’t be just friends. Maybe they are falling faster than expected. And maybe, deep down, they want to.

Goodreads / Amazon

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

This book started off strong — the best friends trope is one of my favorites. I liked how both Ryan and Ella struggled with their feelings in the aftermath of them sleeping together the night of her birthday. But somewhere in the middle, it sort of went off the rails for me. I was getting annoyed with Ella and felt like she was jerking Ryan around a bit. At least Ryan was more honest with his feelings afterwards, dropping hints that he wouldn’t mind crossing that line from best friends to something more. Ella could have saved them both a world of heartache had she just been honest with herself and Ryan earlier. I would have much rather seen them adapt to being a couple after being such close friends.

The crux of the story then becomes how once you’ve crossed the line to something more, can you really go back to being just friends?

But overall, The Fear Of Falling was an entertaining read. Aside from the will-they-or-won’t-they cross the line to coupledom, we also see how both Ella and Ryan struggle with their career paths, and that gave another dimension to the characters that readers don’t always get to see in YA romances. They characters had good chemistry, and I liked the bigger group of friends as well.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: Love, Sincerely Yours, by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn

Dear Mister…**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we’re being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

Yours.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Love, Sincerely, Yours was about as perfect as can be! Another collaboration between Meghan Quinn and Sara Ney, this office romance had me laughing so hard. I mean, haven’t we all, on some level, wished we could drunkenly admit our lust for someone? Add in the fact that Rome is Payton’s arrogant, jerk of a boss, and there were so many avenues to explore!

The authors did a fantastic job of showing just how Payton knocks Rome down a few pegs. She truly knocks him off of his game, and he turns out to be such a sap when he’s with her. A beast in the boardroom, but a total gentleman when it comes to their personal relationship. She’s not afraid to call him out on his BS, and she brings a smile to his face. By the time The Conflict came around, I was so invested in them as a couple. I actually cried while reading that chapter!

As much as I adored this book, I wish that we could have gotten a bit more out of Rome’s personal life/background — what made him into such a workaholic? And that Payton’s relationships with her friends/co-workers at Roam, Inc. were completely dropped once Rome discovers that she was sending him the anonymous emails and they ultimately began dating. I thought those connections with her girlfriends were just as strong as his with his best friend/business partner Hunter. But clearly, the authors wanted to develop Hunter more since the next book in this apparent series will be his. And I get that. But Payton’s friends were so instrumental in the front half of this story that I was a bit disappointed to see them disappear in the second half.

Overall, Love, Sincerely Yours was a fantastic office romance. An easy, entertaining read! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

EXCERPT

I open the company messenger app on my phone and scroll through the executive names, knowing full well I’m about to break a policy. It’s the company’s phone, and the company’s app, and I’m about to use it for personal use. To flirt.

With my boss.

I close my eyes, find his name—next to it is a little, green dot, which means. . .

He’s on the app.

I’ve never talked to him live before so this is a huge step, but then again, it might be more fun to get his initial reactions to my comments.

Debating it for all but two seconds, I type out a message to him, making sure I’m signed on under my LSY persona.

HandsRomingMyBody: Hey you.

My text turns into a new message on the app and I wait on bated breath to see if he will respond. Nerves prickle up my spine, my fingers feeling numb, my mind playing mutiny with my heart just as little dots appear letting me know he’s typing.

Oh God, I don’t think I’ve been more excited.

Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

All My Life by Prescott Lane
Release Date: October 10, 2018

All My Life_Amazon_KOBO_iBooks.jpg

All My Life, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by Prescott Lane.

The beginning of any love story starts with the meet.

I’ve known Garrett Hollis since before I can remember, and I’ve loved him just as long. I loved him while he loved someone else. I loved him when he had a baby with her. I loved him when she left him.

The greatest of love stories is that between a dad and his daughter. I should know. I’ve had a front row seat. First steps, first words, all the big moments.

Garrett was just a teenager when Mia was born. I’ve watched him braid his daughter’s hair, hold her hand crossing the street, seen her asleep on his chest. I’m the best friend, the one they can count on for everything from dance lessons to motherly advice, anything they need. I’m their go-to girl.

The best part of any love story is the happily ever after.

But what if the happily ever after doesn’t include you?

All my life, that’s how long I’ve loved him.

Of course, he’s clueless.

Excerpt:

As far as dates go, this one has been good. I like her. She’s attractive, funny, smart, seems to have her head on straight. All the boxes are checked. This should be the point where I kiss her, ask her out again. I should be devising ways to get in this woman’s panties, but instead I’m thinking more about yanking down the tutu of one very sexy Biscuit Girl. I should be thinking about how to get this woman to fall for me, but it’s me that’s fallen. I should have one thing on my mind, and I do — Devlyn.

There’s just one big ass problem. She’s my friend. I can’t go there. There are so many reasons why I can’t go there. The town would have a field day. We’d have no privacy. Everyone would have an opinion. If we broke up, where would I get a decent cup of coffee? How would Mia react to this? Then there’s Scott, who’s actually the least of my concerns. Devlyn seemed pretty sure it was over, and if it’s not, I plan on convincing her.

I don’t want to lose Devlyn.

Staying friends guarantees her in my life. Dating her doesn’t.

Love doesn’t come with a guarantee.

Love is a risk. I used to be a risk taker, but teenage fatherhood buried that part of me. Stability became the name of the game. It had to. I look towards her diner, wondering if she’s back.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Devlyn has been in love with her best friend, Garrett, all of her life. She’s helped him raise his daughter, Mia, has been his best friend and his go-to. Even when their small town turned against him for knocking up his high school girlfriend, Devlyn was the one who stuck by them, and eventually got the community to see Garrett in a different light.

When Mia’s valedictorian speech goes viral, women literally come knocking down Garrett’s door. He agrees to a handful of dates to appease his daughter, and it’s then that he realizes that the woman he’s been looking for has been standing right in front of him his entire life.

Based on the book cover, I expected Garrett’s daughter, Mia, to be a toddler; not a teenager graduating from high school. So the troubles that Garrett and Devlyn experience have less to do with him being a single parent and everything to do with the sudden return of Mia’s mother. With unrequited love stories, you have to, as a reader, just accept the fact that yes, so-and-so could have said something years earlier about their feelings. But if they had, there wouldn’t be a book to read now, would there? So, yes, maybe Devlyn could have told Garrett how she felt years earlier, but then that would have completely changed the dynamic of their friendship, how she was the one who understood his love for Mia because she loved Mia just as much. And that’s why I was crying when Devlyn decides to take herself out of the equation in order to give Mia — the child she loves as if she was her own — the life that she’d always longed for.

There were many times that I thought Garrett was a dope, and he could have treated Devlyn better. Especially once they started dating. But this book has a nice arc to it as they go from friends to secret lovers to splitting up — and he got his head out of his butt in the end and made the grand gesture that Devlyn deserved after loving him all her life.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
