Genre: Contemporary Sports Romance

I’m called America’s
sweetheart.
They say I have
the voice of an angel.
I almost gave all
that up, thanks to a traumatic experience at the start of my career. Instead of
letting it define me, I chose to rise above. I showed everyone what a woman on
a mission could accomplish, and now I’m living my dream.
After one chance
meeting, my entire world changes. Austin is every woman’s fantasy, and he wants
me. While the attraction is there for me as well, I don’t need any distractions
right now.

Austin Jones

Focused.
Driven.
I’m the man I am
today because I never let the idea of settling down disrupt being the best I
can during my hockey career.
But then Reese
floats into my life and everything changes, and now all I want to do is pin her
against the boards.
They say
opposites attract. You can’t get more opposite than Country Music’s hottest
female singer and a hockey player from Canada. With competing travel schedules,
our instant attraction appears to be doomed from the start. Can it really be
love? Or is it just a hot ice-melting fling?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars
Against The Boards is another sweet, cute, easy read in Samantha Lind’s Indianapolis Eagles series. This book follows Austin and country sweetheart Reese. Her drummer, Michael, is the brother of Laura from Protecting Her Heart (#4). While the scene where Reese and Austin first meet actually takes place in the previous book, Against The Boards is a true standalone within this series.

What I liked most about this story was how the reader got the inside look at Reese and Austin’s long-distance relationship while she was on tour and he was in season. It could have been really easy for Lind to just fast-forward through all of that. But we really got to SEE how they get to know one another through text messages and phone calls.

I still find that Lind’s writing style is a bit clunky at times and she is super-descriptive with things that don’t need so much detail. But looking past that, this series has been quite enjoyable. Austin is a sweetheart, Reese is so damn cute, and they are just a cute, no-drama couple. If you want an easy-going romance, this is it!

Like the other books, the previous couples make appearances and the reader gets updates on those relationships. Even though Michael isn’t an Eagle, I would love to see the story between him and fellow band mate Miranda!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Cover Reveal: Diary Of A Bad Boy, by Meghan Quinn

Dear Diary,

I might have gotten myself into a wee bit of trouble—and I’m not talking about the “court mandated community service,” or “therapy sessions from bashing a bloke in the head” kind of trouble.

I wish it were that simple.

Nope. I’m talking about the “falling in love with one of my client’s daughters,” kind of trouble . . .
The kind of problem I can’t talk my way out of when the truth gets out.

How I ended up with her phone is a long story—and when she called to get it back, I took things a bit too far. One innocent exchange wound up leading to so much more.

Fun, new, and totally immune to my charm, Sutton is different. And I had no idea she was the daughter of Foster Green.

Blame it on the dark colored stout running through my veins, pushing me toward one bad decision after another. Pushing me toward her even though I know right from wrong; even though she’s my client’s daughter.

Dating her might be the best or worst decision I’ve ever made. Only time, whiskey, and one more roll around the mattress with her will tell.

Cover

Knoxville Montgomery liked things his way. He kept everything simple and he was always in control. That is until a head-strong blonde stumbled into his life and changed everything. She became a challenge he refused to give up on.

It didn’t matter how much Knoxville tried, Tinley would not give into him. She couldn’t. On the outside, she appeared to be resilient and untouchable, but her reality was a much different story.

But Knoxville would not give up. Little by little, he started to tear down her walls, and at that moment, Tinley knew. Even though she fought it with every, single fiber in her body, their outcome was fated.

She would Fall…
And all she could do now was hope he’d willing to catch her.

Fall Paperback_1

EXCERPT:

“About that coffee,” I say the words and instantly see the way her body sags in defeat.

“You just don’t stop, do you?” Tinley doesn’t even turn around to face me. “You don’t look like the kind of guy that’s hurting for the attention of a woman, so why are you so adamant about getting me to agree to go out on a date with you?” Slowly she turns and I feel myself falter just a bit from the beauty that hits me. This woman is gorgeous, with eyes that I swear make me fucking weak in the knees every time I see them. It doesn’t matter if she is glaring or fighting a grin, the effects are still the same. “I can assure you I am not pleasant company.”

Arching my brow, I wait for her to continue. Attempting to talk me out of this was something I guess she needed to do, but it wouldn’t work.

“I’m moody and cranky at least eighty-two percent of the day.”

“How about the remaining eighteen?”

“I’m asleep.”

I chuckle and she can’t hide the grin fast enough. Moments like this when she lets her guard down even for just a second makes me want to pursue this attraction I feel for her. It confirms that behind her tough exterior there is a side of her that she rarely let’s others see. It only makes me want to be the one lucky enough to get a glimpse at the other side of the mysterious woman.

“Maybe you’re not surrounding yourself with the right kind of company.” I half expect her to give me some type of sass, but instead she simply looks at the floor beneath her feet.

“One cup of coffee?” I nodded when she peeked through her long lashes at me. “After that this silly game will be over and I can go back to be my moody distant self?”

“Or, you could have such an amazing time that you decide we should do it again, or better yet, have dinner next time.” With her lips pursed and her eyebrows arched, she crosses her arms and stares at me. “Dazzled by my charm, struck by my good looks, and floored by the fact that I am a true gentleman.”

Tinley opens her mouth slightly as if she has something to say then closes it tightly once more. I wait, she watches me, and the party continues around us.

Beckett was right, this shit is gonna hurt. It is gonna kick my feet out from beneath me, knock me flat on my ass, then stomp me when I am down. But nothing about any of that makes me want to back away. I’m a Montgomery, and no one tells us there is something we can’t have.

When they tried it only backfired.

Book Blitz: Child Of Mine, by Jana Richards

Child of Mine
Jana Richards
Publication date: February 20th 2019
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Lauren didn’t intend to sleep with her brother-in-law Cole on the day of her husband’s funeral. But now that she is pregnant, she’s not sorry. Cole’s given her a baby, a long-wished-for miracle. He’s been her friend forever, though she never told him or anyone else how unhappy her marriage to his cheating brother was. And she’s afraid to tell the small town that considered her husband a hero that the baby isn’t his.

Cole’s been in love with Lauren since he was sixteen. It kills him that everyone believes the baby is his dead brother’s. All he wants is to claim the baby, and Lauren, as his own. Though she marries him, will Lauren’s heart ever be his?

Lauren must tell the truth or risk losing Cole. Is her newly-discovered love for him greater than her fear of scandal in her hometown?

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks

EXCERPT:

“We asked you to come here this evening because we have something we want to tell all of you. Lauren and I are getting married.”

The room went deathly quiet. Lauren tightened her grip on his hand. Her face turned pale as she stared at her family’s stunned expressions. Cole put his arm around her waist, afraid she might faint.

He needn’t have worried. She lifted her chin at a defiant angle and turned to face the others.

“Cole and I have decided this child needs the best possible start in life and that means having a mother and a father. We’ve always been friends, so what better way to start a marriage then with friendship?”

Garrett pushed himself to his feet and came forward. “I think it’s a hell of an idea. You two will make wonderful parents.”

He enfolded Lauren in an embrace. Cole heard her murmur her thanks to her brother. “I think you’ll make a wonderful uncle.”

Charlotte was next in line. She kissed Lauren’s cheek. “I’m so happy for you, sweetie. When’s the big day?”

“In a couple of weeks,” Cole said. “As soon as we can arrange everything.”

Lauren’s parents, Robert and Grace, also extended their congratulations. If they had reservations, they kept them to themselves.

Only his mother remained in her seat, staring at them in disbelief. Cole sat next to her. “What do you want to say, Ma?”

“You can’t replace Billy.” She choked out the words.

“I know that.” He’d known he was second best in her eyes all his life. “I wouldn’t even try.”

“But to marry his wife, to raise his child? It’s wrong. They don’t belong to you. You always wanted what belonged to your brother.”

He wanted to shout at her that the baby was his, that it had nothing to do with Billy. And Lauren was his, too. He’d loved her first. His brother had never appreciated what a gem he’d had in her. He’d squandered his marriage the way he’d squandered the love that had been lavished on him all his life, from his parents, from Lauren, and even from him.

Instead he pressed his lips together and said nothing. He felt a hand on his shoulder, and saw that Lauren stood beside him.

“I know this is difficult for you, Ella. I know you’re grieving. But I have to raise my child in the best way I know how. Aside from my brother and sister, Cole is my best friend in the world. He’s a good man, and I know he’ll be a wonderful father. You should be very proud of him.”

His mother stared at Lauren as if she couldn’t believe what she was saying. Her face twisted. “Don’t you miss Billy at all? Don’t you grieve for him? Nobody understands. Nobody.”

“Ma.”

He said the word a little sharper then he’d intended, but at least it got her attention. She looked up at him in surprise.

“I’m sorry if it hurts you, but Lauren and I are getting married. We care about one another and we care about the baby. The three of us are going to be a family. I wish you could be happy for us.”

Ella dabbed at her eyes with a tissue. Finally, with a shuddering breath, she turned to look at him.

“For Billy’s baby’s sake, I’ll try.”

Billy’s baby.

The pain was swift and unexpected. If she’d stabbed him through the heart with a dagger it wouldn’t have hurt as much.

Author Bio:

When Jana Richards read her first romance novel, she immediately knew two things: she had to commit the stories running through her head to paper, and they had to end with a happily ever after. She also knew she’d found what she was meant to do. Since then she’s never met a romance genre she didn’t like. She writes contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and historical romance set in World War Two, in lengths ranging from short story to full length novel. Just for fun, she throws in generous helpings of humor, and the occasional dash of the paranormal. Her paranormal romantic suspense “Seeing Things” was a 2008 EPPIE finalist.

In her life away from writing, Jana is an accountant/admin assistant, a mother to two grown daughters, and a wife to her husband Warren. She enjoys golf, yoga, movies, concerts, travel and reading, not necessarily in that order. She and her husband live in Winnipeg, Canada with an elderly Pug/Terrier named cross Lou. Excerpt Reveal: When August Ends, by Penelope Ward

EXCERPT REVEAL

PWWhenAugustEndsBookCoverTITLE1.png

A Standalone Contemporary Romance Novel

NY Times, USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Penelope Ward

RELEASE DATE: February 25, 2019

EXCERPT:

Noah stood up and walked off the porch to put his cigar out on the cement. When he returned, he remained standing across from me. I was reminded of just how tall he was as he towered over me. A breeze blew his scent—a mix of cigar and cologne—in my direction. The same smell saturated the shirt I was wearing. I could’ve breathed it in all night. His nearness was doing things to my body I hadn’t ever felt.

Noah looked around. “You mentioned some stuff around here needs to be repaired. What specifically?”

I blew out a breath. Even thinking about it was exhausting. “So much. I’d have to make a list.”

“Why don’t you do that? Make a list. I’m pretty good with my hands. I’ll see if there’s anything I can help with while I’m here.”

He’d lost me at pretty good with my hands. My imagination was running wild. Shit. I imagined those hands doing a lot of things—mostly to me.

“I can’t let you do that.”

“You’d be stupid not to take me up on it. I came for a change of pace, but the truth is, too much quiet isn’t good. I like to keep busy.”

Biting my bottom lip, I shook my head. “I don’t know…”

“Make the list,” he insisted.

Noah was right. It would be dumb not to take him up on his offer. It wasn’t like there was anyone else knocking down our door to help.

I tilted my head. “What would be in it for you?”

His expression turned dark. “People don’t always have to have ulterior motives.”

Suddenly feeling bold, I said, “I thought maybe you would want me to go out with you in exchange.”

Did you hear that? It was a record screeching.

I admit, that was ballsy, but being around him brought out my flirtatious side. Maybe his cologne and cigar smoke were going to my head.

“You’re joking, right?”

Okay. I shouldn’t have asked.

“Actually, I—”

“I’m practically old enough to be your father.”

Really? That’s how he saw me? I knew he was older than me…but he didn’t seem that old. No way. I’d pegged him as early thirties, though I truly had no idea how old he was.

I shook my head. “No, you’re not. That’s a lie. An older brother, maybe. How old are you?”

Instead of answering, he took two steps forward. “Let me make something clear.”

“Okay…”

“I was not insinuating anything by offering to help. And I will not be asking you out, propositioning you, or going anywhere near you, for that matter. We clear on that?”

Okay, then.

I swallowed. Disappointment washed over me as I cleared my throat. “Yes.”

“Good.” He made his way toward the door, turning around one last time. “You’d better go. It was nice chatting. Get me the list tomorrow.”

He disappeared into the house, leaving me on the porch to wallow in his lingering smell and feeling like a complete and utter idiot.

Synopsis:

What do you do when a sexy, older man moves into your family’s summer rental?

Well, apparently, you make a fool of yourself—over and over. Things didn’t exactly get off on the right foot with Noah Cavallari. Our first encounter was embarrassing, to say the least.

But despite that, I found myself waking up every day with a newfound energy. Nothing exciting ever happened on the lake—not until Noah moved into the small boathouse on our property. He’d booked it for the entire summer…and I was still trying to figure out why.

When my mother became ill, I inherited the responsibility of making sure our guests were well taken care of. I should have been in college. Instead, I was living my best life…as a maid.

Dark, handsome, and mysterious, everything about Noah screamed forbidden.

I knew he was just passing through town for the summer.

I knew he was probably too old for me.

Yet, I was drawn to him.

Not to mention, he tried to save my life when he mistakenly thought I was drowning.

I wanted him and made no secret of it.

His own attempts to warn me away soon gave way to late-night moonlight chats by the lake. We were slowly easing into a friendship that was gearing up to explode into something I might not recover from.

Because he’s leaving at the end of the summer.

And I have no idea what I’ll do when August ends.

“Hayden,” she breathlessly whispers.
“I love hearing you say my name.”
“Hayden,” she whispers again. She grips my head and pulls me to her, slamming her lips against mine. Nipping her bottom lip, I pull back and stare at her. This woman has captivated me for the last week. Never in a million years did I think I’d see her again. And never again, did I think she’d be here in my loft. She murmurs my name again and it unleashes something inside of me. I slam my lips against hers and ravage her mouth.

Her fingers pull at my shirt, as she tries to get the buttons undone but her hands are shaking. Reaching behind me, I grab my shirt by the collar and lift it over my head, throwing it on the floor beside us. Her eyes rake over my torso, leaving a blazing trail of lust behind. She slowly begins to unbutton her dress. My eyes watch intently as one by one the buttons pop open. When her hands reach my crotch, she cheekily palms my cock through my pants before nudging me aside as she continues to undo her dress. The last button is undone; reaching forward I separate the material to expose her body. She’s wearing bright pink satin panties and nothing else.

The (Half) Truth, an all-new standalone emotional romance by Leddy Harper is NOW LIVE!

From bestselling author Leddy Harper comes a sizzling romance about an aspiring young chef who may discover that the perfect recipe for love involves all accidental ingredients…

Tatum Alexander is so close to realizing her dream of becoming a sous chef she can taste it, but working at her ex-fiancé’s restaurant with his new girlfriend was never in her career plan. To save face and prove she’s moved on, Tatum cooks up a lie that she’s in a relationship with her best friend’s superhot cousin. There’s just one problem: Jason only recently moved to town, and he has no idea they’re already “dating.”

Jason’s a recovering ladies’ man who shouldn’t be on the menu, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to Tatum’s quirky charm. Giving her lie a kernel of truth, they decide some no-strings-attached fun between the sheets can’t hurt. But as Tatum’s forced to keep making up stories to cover her original fib, she has a hard time separating what’s real and what’s fake—including her feelings for Jason.

With too many tales spun, Tatum can only watch in horror as her collection of yarns begins to unravel, leaving everyone she cares about feeling betrayed. After so many lies, will it be too late to set the record straight? And more importantly, will she be able to convince Jason there’s truth in their love?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

I loved what a mess Tatum is! She is just silly, goofy, and her entire life is one big calamity of errors after another. From the moment she meets Jason and fibs about how they are already dating up to almost the very end, Tatum just keeps digging herself deeper and deeper into a hole.

The connection between Tatum and Jason is pretty sizzling right from the start. And I really loved that The (Half) Truth was a story that SHOWED me how they begin to fall for one another, despite both of them wanting nothing more than a casual post-breakup relationship.

Leddy Harper writes just as great a romcom as she does a heavier romance. The (Half) Truth is a quirky, fun romance that will leave you with a smile on your face. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

About Leddy Harper

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

Heather Guimond is a Los Angeles native, a fact she’s abnormally proud of. When she’s not trying to write something that will make people laugh or rip their hearts out (or both!) she’s either reading or doing her best to crack the whip on her three home-schooled teenagers. She loves all things witty and wise-cracking, as well most varieties of smart-assery. Other favorites include French roast coffee in copious amounts and the dirtiest Dirty Martinis she can find. More than anything, she hopes she writes books that stick with the reader long after the pages have been read.

Release Blitz: Sunny Shelly Reviews Boyfriend For Hire, by Kendall Ryan

I’m the guy you call when you need to impress your overbearing family, your boss, or your ex. Yeah, I’m a male escort, but not just any escort, I’m the escort. The one with a mile-long waiting list and a pristine reputation that’s very well-deserved.

I’m the guy who’ll make you feel beautiful, desired, and worshipped . . . all for a steep price. I’m hired to make you shine, and I always deliver.

I’ll be whatever you want me to be for one night—except my true self. This is just a job, a role I play to earn a paycheck.

But I’m not the guy who falls for a client. Not once in six years.

And then I meet Elle. Her friend has hired me to escort her to a wedding, but Elle doesn’t know we’re just pretending.

There’s a fire between us I never expected. A connection I haven’t felt in so long. One kiss, and I’m losing all control.

But what will happen when she finds out who I really am?

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Boyfriend For Hire was a cute, quick story, that I easily plowed through in about two hours. Elle’s best friend, Christine, is marrying her brother. Since Elle is just coming off of a bad breakup with the groom’s best friend, Christine hires Nic, a male escort, to pose as an old college friend and be Elle’s blind date for the wedding. Naturally, Nic and Elle have an immediate connection, he feels like he can really be himself and he’s not “working” when he’s with her — but he’s a paid male escort. What does he do?

The plot is predictable, but it was still an enjoyable story. Kendall Ryan does a great job of showing the reader how Nic is struggling with what he wants versus what he should do when it comes to Elle and how he makes a living.

I would have liked to have gotten some more details out of both characters. It bugged me that we never even find out what Elle’s brother’s name is (stupid, I know, but it irked me). And why did Nic not have any other job prospects besides working for Case? And what did his parents think he did? His parents seem like such easygoing people, and I know from having an Italian mother of my own that they are always up in your business, so how did he hide his job from them?

Nevertheless, Boyfriend For Hire is a feel-good romance with a HEA that ties it all up in a nice, neat, sexy little bow. This book kicks off a series of interconnected standalones, as Nic’s boss, Case, is the hero in KR’s next release, The Hookup Handbook.

Now Live: Breaking The Billionaire’s Rules, by Annika Martin

BTBR - RB banner.jpg

Breaking a Billionaire’s Rules, a laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Annika Martin is live!

This standalone romcom is set in the same world as The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl and Most Eligible Billionaire.

BTBR_ebook_bn.jpeg

Max Hilton is my high school nemesis turned billionaire. And tomorrow I deliver his lunch order. In a cat costume.

You know he’s going to love it. He’ll smile that smirky smile, sitting there all superior in his gleaming tower, the wealthiest and most notorious playboy in all of New York, the king of everything.

Turns out it wasn’t curiosity that killed the cat—it was mortification.

I’m almost ready to quit my lunch delivery job, but then my roommate tosses me a copy of The Max Hilton Playbook: Ten Golden Rules for Picking up the Hottest Girl in the Room.

It’s the book that catapulted him to stardom. And it’s my new bible.

I’m going to use his own techniques against him. I’ll wrap him around my little finger, bring him to his knees, and crush his steely heart. Call it payback for all the single girls who had to endure legions of losers wielding his legendary tactics.

But seeing Max every day, I’m discovering a side of him
I didn’t even know existed–he’s not the jerky guy I thought he was. He has
this smile he shows only to me, and it melts my heart. His touch sends shivers
down my spine. And those forbidden kisses are driving me wild.

Falling for him was not in my plan.

Am I breaking his rules or will his rules break me first?

She’s heavy into running, music, saving the planet, taking long baths, and consuming chocolate suckers. She’s worked a surprisingly large number of waitressing jobs, and has also worked in a plastics factory and the advertising trenches; her garden is total bee-friendly madness and her most un-favorite word is nosh or possibly fob.
