Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Only Ever You, by Siobhan Davis

OEY_BT.jpg

He’s the hot-as-sin rocker hiding a secret that would devastate his fans. She’s the only girl he’s ever loved, but keeping her safe means he had to walk away…

Only Ever You, an all-new emotional, second chance standalone from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis is available now!

OnlyEverYou_ecover.jpg

RYDER

My entire life is a lie, propelled by one wrong decision that altered my fate.

If fans knew the truth, they’d run away screaming. But all they see is Ryder Stone, moody guitarist and lead singer of Torment, and a potential notch on their bedpost.

Only two people know who I really am. My manager has a vested interest in keeping my secret, and the girl I was forced to leave behind doesn’t even know the true extent of my shame.

Losing Zeta is both my biggest regret and my proudest moment. But she was the glue keeping me together, and I’m struggling to survive without her. Especially when the demons from my past continue to haunt me and the threat of disclosure is ever present.

When she reappears in my life, this time, I’m too weak to push her away.

Her love has the power to save me.

Mine has the power to destroy her.

ZETA

I’ve worked hard to forget my past. To rise above my messed-up childhood and make something of myself; however, there’s no forgetting him.

Ryder’s gorgeous face and drool-worthy body are plastered over tabloids and TV screens, reminding me I’m still in love with the boy who captured my heart in juvie.

When he failed me, I thought I’d never again experience such heart-crushing pain. But watching him fall out of clubs with a succession of different girls renews the agony, resurrecting countless unanswered questions.

Now my boss has sent me to interview him. It’s a massive scoop for the magazine, and turning it down would kill my career. So, I delude myself into thinking I can handle this.

Perhaps this is the closure I need to finally move on.

Except I’m terrified nothing has changed and one look into those soulful eyes will suck me in again.

Ryder almost destroyed me last time. This time, he could ruin me forever.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Only Ever You is the third book by Siobhan Davis that I’ve now read, and once again, she puts out a fantastic, gripping story. This is much darker than Incognito and When Forever Changes, but is still a story that kept me up into the wee hours of the morning, anxiously waiting to see what comes next.

From the moment that Ryder and Zeta meet in juvie, there is a magnet drawing them to one another. While they are incarcerated, their romance is as sweet as can be: they are both virgins, sneaking small kisses and hand holding whenever they can, waiting for the day that they are both free and can truly be together. That day is so, so close when Ryder’s past catches up with him and he is forced to leave Zeta behind to keep her safe.

Eight years later, Zeta is a rock journalist, and Ryder is the lead singer of the aptly-named band Torment when she’s assigned to write the group’s biography. Being forced to spend time in such close quarters with the guy who shredded her heart is the last thing that she wants, but it’s clear that they both still are very much in love with one another. Thankfully, SD doesn’t waste a lot of time getting to them hashing out their past and reuniting, because I really wanted to see how they adjust to their new normal together. But Ryder is still keeping one last secret from Zeta, and it threatens to destroy everything in a way that is far worse than before.

Ryder is such a tormented soul. His demons are dark, his self-loathing runs deep. Zeta has her own set of issues, but they are nothing like Ryder’s. This book is so full of angst and emotional upheaval, and there is a lot of drug use and sex addiction as Ryder self-medicates and self-destructs. But at the end of the story is a beautiful ending full of redemption, hope, forgiveness and learning to love yourself. For both Ryder and Zeta, it’s “only ever been you.”

This book had me crying at so many parts, and wanting to throw my kindle during others. It’s not at all a light-hearted story, but it is gripping nonetheless, and I am in a massive book hangover.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Excerpt:

He kisses the top of my head. “I can admit to myself now that I was falling into a dark hole again. Recently, I’d been partying too hard, and slipping back into my old ways, but I told myself I had it under control. These last few weeks have helped enormously. Being back in the Hamptons house has always been my salvation. I keep to myself, bury myself in the music, and avoid all other temptations. I never invite people back to my house. It’s my only sanctuary. My only privacy. And having you back in my life has given me purpose. Given me a reason to clean up my act.” He tilts my face up to his. “Because I want to be the kind of man you deserve.”

“You already are.” I stretch up and kiss his lips.

“I’m broken, babe, and a part of me always will be.” He looks so unbearably sad, and I want to erase all trace of sorrow from his face.

“I’m broken too, Ryder. Maybe that’s why it works between us.”

Read an Excerpt from FALLEN STAR:

Tuesday they were shooting on location in Jackson Square all day. The call time was two hours before dawn, so they could wring every second of sunlight out of the day, and Grace could not stop yawning on the transport van to the location.

“Wakey, wakey,” Scott said, leaning over the back of his seat to shake a plastic tumbler filled with something thick and green and disgusting-looking in front of her face.

“Ugh,” Grace grumbled. “Get that away from me.” She couldn’t help but smile a little though, even through her sleep-deprived crankiness.

An hour later, as the first streaks of light were glimmering in the sky above the river, Scott showed up at the pop-up tent where video village had been set up, and presented Grace with a white paper bag and a tall styrofoam cup from Café du Monde.

“For me?” she asked, perking up considerably. “Did you seriously walk over there and buy me coffee?” He didn’t seem to have gotten anything for anyone else. Just her. Her brain filed this information away to obsess over and analyze later, when he wasn’t standing two feet away grinning at her.

“Café au lait,” Scott said smugly. “And beignets.”

Grace narrowed her eyes at him in suspicion. “Did you make one of the PAs do it?”

“As a matter of fact, I did it all by myself. And I had to take a picture with the employees, so I hope you appreciate it.”

“I do!” she said, beaming at him. “You’re officially my favorite person today.”

He blinked at her, his smirk fading into something else entirely. Whatever that expression on his face was, it sent Grace’s stomach tumbling into a free fall. Rather than examine it more closely, she focused her attention on the bag in her hand. Inside was a mountain of powdered sugar, and buried beneath it were three pillowy squares of fried dough. “Don’t inhale while you’re eating those,” Scott warned her.

“Not my first rodeo,” Grace told him, excavating a beignet. “Want one?”

“Noooo.” He held up his hands in a warding gesture. “I’m doing a water cut for that fight scene on Thursday.”

Right. He’d be shirtless, which meant the Abs of Glory would be on full display. Grace found herself looking forward to Thursday with a little more enthusiasm.

“Sucks for you,” she said, giving him a taunting grin as she bit into a beignet.

His eyes homed in on her mouth with laser beam focus. “That’s fine. I’ll just enjoy them vicariously by watching you eat.”

“Does this get you off?” she asked archly and took another bite.

Scott licked his lips. “Not gonna lie, it kind of does.”

Grace couldn’t help laughing at his retriever-staring-down-a-dog-treat expression, which led her to make the fatal mistake of inhaling with the beignet in front of her mouth. Coughing sugar out of her lungs, she clapped a hand over her mouth as a cloud of fine white powder billowed out in front of her.

Scott sidestepped the powdered sugar typhoon and patted her on the back, chuckling. “Told you not to inhale.”

She’s been pining for her best friend’s brother, Oli, for the past decade.

Sloane’s heart is set on the unattainable, sexy-as-sin hockey player. She would give up on her Oli fantasy if it weren’t for those constant heated glares and that one passionate kiss that set her world on fire confirming her hostile vagina is right. Oli is the man for the job.

Problem is, Oli seems to have no intention of settling down and has clearly placed Sloane in the friend zone.

When crisis strikes, Oli and Sloane end up trapped in a car, driving to Canada with a sweet puppy and a whole lot of chemistry. But when Oli realizes she’s a virgin, he wants to run to the farthest hills to get away from her.

Sometimes happily-ever-after isn’t that easy…

Butt Ending is a laugh-out-loud friends-to-lovers story. Get ready for foodgasms, dirty talk, and one heck of a sexy alpha-male hockey player.

Oli

She tastes of sugar and sin. I’m treading in dangerous waters, and yet I couldn’t stop myself if I wanted to. I’m too far away from shore as my tongue runs down her chest.

I lift her under her arms and lie her on the bed. “I don’t remember the last time I fucked gently, but tonight I’ll try my hardest for you,” I say, because a part of me hopes she’ll cower and realize she’s making a mistake. It shouldn’t be me.

A nervous laugh escapes her lips. “Is that another warning? I told you I feel safe,” she says firmly, her voice too filled with lust to be taken very seriously.

I can’t blame her because that same need pulses through me, even though a nagging feeling sits on my chest, like I’m taking something that isn’t mine. I don’t want to hurt her or me. I sure as hell don’t want to cause trouble between her and Flynn, but my resolve has diminished, and like a moth to a flame, I’m consumed by her.

As my tongue runs over her pert nipple, it stands to attention. I’ve never wanted anyone like I want her now with her dark hair messy and splayed on the bed, her green eyes filled with heat so alluring. She’s quite the temptress, and she isn’t even trying.

My tongue plays with the bud of her nipple as she runs her fingers through my hair. She smells like fresh flowers on a spring day, refreshing, untainted, in need of love. My lips press against her other nipple, and she murmurs something unintelligible and moans, arching her back off the bed.

“That feels so good,” she rasps. Her heated voice does things to my insides. I want to make her feel passion that she’s never felt before. I want her to come completely undone because of me, for me. I’ve noticed over the years she has a wall erected around her not with my sister but with other people, especially those of the opposite sex, and although I don’t know what it’s about, it makes me feel special knowing she trusts me enough, that she cares about me enough, to want to give this precious gift to me.

“Good, baby, I want to make this feel good for you.” My mouth hovers over her delectable nipple as my tongue draws circles around it, making her buck beneath me.

“Ah!” she cries out, pressing her wet pussy into me.

“Fuck, I can feel how wet you are through my jeans,” I hiss.

“We better do something about those jeans then.” She grins sexily, her eyes heavy-lidded and warm. She gets to work on the button and zipper, then runs her hands over my ass. “Damn, this is one fine ass.” She giggles.

“You like my butt, huh?” I reach down to squeeze hers. “Yours is sexier than hell. Fuck, what I wouldn’t do to come inside it,” I growl, forgetting myself. She’s a virgin; her virgin ears don’t need to hear my fantasies about taking her from behind. At least not yet.

Her throat bobs. I’ve made her nervous.

“Don’t freeze up on me, baby. I’m not going there tonight. Like I said, I want to make this good for you. Tonight is all about you.”

As far back as R.C. Stephens can remember she was a sucker for a good romance. Of course there had to be a prince charming even if he ultimately was a dark knight and there had to be a happy ending.

She watched the movie Dirty Dancing way too many times growing up and Jean Claude Van Damme movies too. Go figure!

After years of saying she would write a book one day, she finally put pen to paper and carved out the plot line for what would eventually become the best selling Twisted Series. Sunny Shelly’s Review: Can’t Match This, by Xavier Neal

Can’t Match This, an all-new standalone Romantic Comedy from Xavier Neal is Available Now!

Wyatt

Helping your best guy friend, who you just happen to be in love with, find his dream woman through a dating service is a great idea…

Right?

Gideon Lucas
Sports agent.
Obsessively organized.
And best friend to the most beautiful, brainy, bubbly, but insane, woman on the entire planet.

Lennox Marston
Sometimes therapist.
Incredibly impulsive.
And best friend to the most gorgeous, brilliant, charming, yet uptight, man to ever walk the Earth.

On paper, they’re not a match, but over the course of an impromptu dating arrangement, the two opposites may discover that everything they’ve been looking for is right in front of them.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Can’t Match This is a super cute best friends romance. I really liked that Gideon and Lennox (Lenny) are both in love with the other from the start, rather than one of them one day waking up and realizing that they are in love with their best friend.

Lenny and Gideon have been best friends since they were in school, and somewhere along the way fell in love with one another. But they are both so sure that they other has them forever placed in the dreaded friend zone, that they never ‘fess up about their feelings. Until Gideon bets Lenny, a matchmaker, that she can’t find him his perfect match.

We all know how this story will end, right? But the journey between Lenny and Gideon is so worth the trip. Their banter is quirky and sweet and full of little moments that would naturally come between life-long friends. Can’t Match This is a sweet best friends romance that will leave you with a smile on your face.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

Flirting With The Frenemy is a great start to a new collection by Pippa Grant! It has all of the same heart and humor I’ve come to expect from her books, but introduces a whole new cast of characters.

Ellie and Wyatt have spent their entire life bickering with one another. One night, when they were both feeling incredibly low and down, they had crazy sex…. and he said it was a mistake. Ellie runs off, getting into a car accident that injured her badly. But while Wyatt was definitely feeling something for her, he was more afraid of losing the only family he’d ever known if Ellie’s brother found out.

When Ellie and Wyatt are forced by her brother to spend time together a few months later, it’s the same weekend where her best friend is marrying Ellie’s ex’s brother. Wyatt steps up to be her fake boyfriend for the week, and chaos ensues. A lot of chaos. And it just fuels Ellie’s belief that they are a disaster together. But I love all of the little moments between them and how Wyatt all of a sudden realizes that he’s been in love with Ellie for years. And maybe, just maybe, she’s worth the risk.

This was a super cute story, and Wyatt’s son, Tucker, steals the show! The relationship unfolds nicely, it’s a great slow burn between Ellie and Wyatt, and I totally got the hesitation on both their parts.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Blog Tour: Sunny Shelly Reviews Stay All Night, by D.B. James & S.L. Peters

Title: Stay All Night
Series: Sugarcreek Love #1
Author: D.B. James and S.L. Peters
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 19, 2019

“Stay all night,” were the words echoing from her lips as I slid from the bed like the scumbag I am.

My name is Tobias Roman Jefferson. I’m a college drop-out fresh from living on my buddies’ couch and nowhere near worthy enough for the likes of Janie Lynn Francis—the hottest girl in Sugarcreek, Texas. Who also happens to be the woman I’ve been in love with for the last nineteen years.

When one stormy night we’re left stranded in my old cabin in the woods, we give to our passion. Only to repeat ourselves the next night…at her house. When she whispers her plea, I escape from her bed as fast as I possibly can.

How can I, the town screw-up, deem myself worthy of the town’s one-time homecoming queen?

Amazon Review: “D.B. James is rapidly becoming one of my go to authors. Stay All Night was well written and I can’t wait to read more from S. L. Peters.”

Cranky TBC: “Swoon!! I love you Tobias Roman Jefferson.”

Melanie Helms: “This was a super cute, good book.”

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 4 Stars

This was a cute unrequited love story. When Janie Lynn moves back to her small Texas town after years away in veterinary school, Tobias takes the leap to take her out on a date like he wanted to do so many years ago. Before his brother made a move first, and changed the course of Tobias’ life forever.

Tobias is such a likable guy, even more so because of his low self-esteem (thinking everyone in town hates him) and how he was betrayed by his dad and brother over and over again. I can’t decide if Teddy is cute or creepy, but I still liked the guy and was rooting for him to get the girl he’s been in love with for half his life.

There is a cute “cameo” made by a popular author at the end of the book that made me smile, and the whole story is tied up in a HEA that Tobias so deserves after all that he’d wrongly been accused of.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

D.B. James is an indie author of New Adult Romance. Her debut novel released on August 19, 2016. In her spare time she’s an avid reader. Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher, Teagan Hunter, KA Tucker, Linda Kage, Renee Carlino, and Abbi Glines are a few of her obsessions. She’s a Michigan girl through and through but currently resides in sunny Florida. Sarcasm, Supernatural (team Sam!), Harry Potter and coffee are among her favorite things.

S.L. Peters is an indie author of Contemporary and Paranormal Romance. Her debut release, Stay all Night—co-authored with D.B. James—releases on Feb. 19, 2019. She’s a lover of the written word and a devourer of books. She resides in North Carolina with her computer nerd husband, Dan, and their zoo of fur-babies. Including four dogs, Loki, Piper, Remy, and Grover…five cats, Allie, Klaus, Violet, Homie, and Astrid. She encourages stalking and loves meeting new readers.

thrive and believing in someone might be the hardest thing she’s ever had to
do.

The minister glanced between them. In a low voice he asked,
“Are you ready?”
“Yes,” they both said.
He raised his voice so the congregation could her him.
“Michael and Rowan, marriage is a promise between two people to love, trust,
and honor each other. It takes trust to know in your hearts you only want the
best for each other. It takes—”
A commotion at the back of the chapel stopped the minister
from telling them what else it took.
“Sir, you can’t go in. There’s a wedding in progress!”
She recognized their wedding planner Stephanie’s voice.
“I know. I’m here to stop it.”
Rowan’s heart thumped in her chest and her fingers tingled
from the flow of adrenaline suddenly coursing through her. She squeezed her
eyes closed. “Please God, no,” she whispered.

Book Description
ELLIOT

Happily settled into my new position at FMK Weddings, I never expected to be presented with the career opportunity of a lifetime. And I definitely wasn’t expecting it to mean working with Bryce McKnight.

Bryce was the heart and soul of my childhood—my best friend.Until life pulled us apart and we lost touch.

Our friendship picks up right where it left off—complete with colorful trash talking and wagers on Mario Kart showdowns—only, I’m pretty sure friends don’t make out in parking lots or have naked sleepovers…

BRYCE

The first time we met, I won Elliot Kincaid’s trust with candy and card games.

After everything I’ve done, it’ll take a lot more to win her heart.

Fortunately, I love a good challenge.

With so much at stake for us both, I know Elliot thinks we’re setting ourselves up for heartbreak.

I’ll just have to show her that our friendship was always meant to be the foundation of our forever.

*What It Takes to Fall is a stand alone in the Forget Me Knot series.

Excerpt:

BRYCE: MORE coffee??? Are you aware of potential heart issues caused by an increased caffeine intake?

My head jerked up, instinctively looking for hair the shade of dark honey. He sat across the room at a tiny table with his laptop out. Smiling eyes behind black-rimmed glasses met mine before he shot me a wink. I smiled and turned back to my computer.

ELLIOT: Are YOU aware of the term ‘restraining order’??? Exactly how long have you been watching me, McStalks-a-lot?

BRYCE: Never heard of it. And…long enough. This is MY coffee shop, remember? Also, if you’re expanding the potential nicknames to Mc-somethings, I prefer McDreamy.

ELLIOT: So humble. Too bad that one’s already taken. But feel free to keep the suggestions coming.

BRYCE: Ask and you shall receive…

BRYCE: McDreamboat. McHotBody. McLicious. McMagicDick. I spewed iced coffee onto my laptop screen and keyboard. Grabbing a napkin, I wiped up the mess.

ELLIOT: McLicious? What are you, some kind of McDonald’s dessert? I’m thinking McCock…y seems highly fitting.

ELLIOT: Also, my fingers are now sticky, thanks to you.

BRYCE: If we’re about to swap confessions about masturbating after you went home last night, we should move this conversation somewhere more private.

BRYCE: Then again, I do love the idea of making you squirm in public…

ELLIOT: ??????

BRYCE: El. Reread your text.
I did, and my face immediately burst into flames of mortification. Other parts of me also burst to life at Bryce’s words.

Also, he wasn’t wrong about what I’d done after I got home last night.

ELLIOT: You wouldn’t.

ELLIOT: Besides, even if that was remotely true, how do you know *you* were the reason behind it?

BRYCE: I can see you blushing from here. That’s how.

BRYCE: It’s adorable, by the way. But now picturing you touching yourself is giving me very NSFW thoughts and ideas.

ELLIOT: Such as?

BRYCE: Elliot Kincaid…are you trying to get me to sext you…from across the room, while we’re both on the clock?

I leaned back in my chair and bit my lip, refusing to look his way. Crap. Is that what I’m doing? I can’t do that while we’re both supposed to be working. While part of me worried he actually would try to sext me right now, the idea of seeing how far I could push Bryce was too tempting to pass up.

ELLIOT: Maybe.

BRYCE: Dirty girl. I’m coming over there.

ELLIOT: No!

ELLIOT: Not yet. I actually do need to work. And you coming over here right now would probably make that impossible.

I swore I heard him sigh from across the room, but when I looked over, his eyes were on his screen.

BRYCE: I’ll make you a deal. We both work—no distractions—for a solid hour, a ‘power hour’ if you will, and then I’m coming over there.

ELLIOT: Deal.

I closed out of Messages and successfully resisted the urge to turn and look at Bryce.

No distractions.
Right.

Easier said than done when he was in my vicinity, hijacking my thoughts every other minute.

About the Author:

C.R. Ellis is a Texas native who writes contemporary romance novels with plenty of drama and humor, and just enough heat to ignite e-readers and paperbacks everywhere. She can almost always be found attached to her laptop with coffee nearby and her two trusty canine sidekicks by her side. When she’s not writing or plotting, she enjoys going to concerts with her sweet husband, dragging him along to see rom-coms at any theater that serves booze, checking off the next destination on her ever-growing travel bucket list, and trying new recipes.

Her passion for writing stems from her lifelong love of reading, and she often binge-reads entire books in a day. She’s an unapologetic book hoarder, and her paperback collection is rivaled only by her massive shoe collection.
