Sunny Shelly’s Review: Forever Starts Tonight by Karla Sorensen

FOREVER STARTS TONIGHT by Karla Sorensen is AVAILABLE NOW!

Blurb:

It’s no secret that I’ve been in love with Jax Cartwright for half my life. A terrible decision, really, and not just because he’s my brother’s best friend or he’s ten years older than me.

Thanks to an overprotective family, he’s ignored me for years, but still, I can’t get his grumpy a** out of my head. And in a wine-fueled, post-bad date funk, I make another terrible decision: show up at his cabin to ask why he’s never given me a chance.

The storm that got me stuck there overnight was a total fluke, but I’m no fool. While Jax is perfectly clear about not wanting a family or love or any of the happily-ever-afters I’ve dreamed of, what’s the harm in asking for just one night? The worst thing he can say is no.

He doesn’t though, and I was saying yes, yes, yes a whole lot after that.

Best. Decision. Ever.

One night is enough to feel like I can move on, and we agree to let it be a secret kept safe between us.

But you know what makes it hard to keep a one-night secret about my not-so-secret crush?

A positive pregnancy test.

Oh baby, things are about to get interesting.

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Yay! Poppy and Jax get their long-awaited HEA in Forever Starts Tonight! From the start of this series, we have seen Poppy pining for Jax, her brother Cameron’s best friend. And with their 10-year age difference, he never saw her as anything other than Cameron’s little sister. Except…. except…

It’s been Poppy all along! Jax just thought he deserved to be a lone wolf and couldn’t admit it to himself!

I have always loved the big, rowdy Wilder family, and they rally around Poppy when she learns she’s pregnant from a one-night stand. And then when Jax gets back to town after a three-month hiking trip and they find out that *he* is the babydaddy… WHOA!

This book was perfect! It’s a slow burn, full of so much angst. I loved how Jax’s feelings just hit him all of a sudden, but then he is placed in the friend zone by Poppy and experiences what she’d felt for all those years. That swoony Big Moment between them had me in tears as they finally, finally got together!

I also appreciated that Karla Sorensen wrote Poppy as a strong, independent heroine. As the baby of the family, we have seen her kind of coddled throughout the series by her siblings. Yes, she’s always been in love with Jax, but she sets out that night to get him out of her system so she can finally move on. And even after she learned she was pregnant, she had her ducks in a row and didn’t fall apart and need the protection that her siblings assumed she’d need.

Well done, Karla! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
