I adored this wonderful opposites-attract romance! I’ve read so many stories where the guy was the one from the wrong side of the tracks, but I loved that Leo (Leona) in this story is the motorcycle mechanic and Ian is quite literally a rocket scientist Brainiac!
Leo’s had a crush on Ian for most of her childhood, and at there’s finally an a-ha moment where he sees her as something more than the friend-of-the-family little girl who has always been hanging around. But their relationship, once Leo and Ian finally get together, is far from rosy. There are some real ups and downs; Leo has not had an easy life, and her world totally falls apart. Will Ian stand by her?
I’ve not read any of the other Iron Orchids books, but I will definitely check them out. This group of friends are hard-core loyal, and I love the little snippets that DN gives about the other girls. I love how different Ian and Leo are, but how well they complement one another. The epilogue set 18 years later is one of the best HEA’s I’ve ever read!
