Sunny Shelly’s Review: 3.5 Stars

Worth Every Risk is a stand-alone in Hargrove & Laine’s Wilde Sports series. The story is a second-chance/secret baby romance with a tragic twist.

Chase Wilde and Andie James were teenage sweethearts, who hid their relationship from their brothers and families for years. When Chase gets the chance of a lifetime to play soccer/football in a Europe, Andie doesn’t want to make him choose between his career or her. So she keeps a big secret from her family, cutting them out of her life for several years.

When Chase decides its time he wins Andie back, her past comes crashing in to her present, forcing her to face her mistakes.

Their relationship hits some bumps, but Chase and Andie are forced to find a common ground and work as a team, which ultimately reunites them.

Overall, the story was good, but there are a few things that are holding me back from a higher review. I felt like their breakup was kind of glossed over, and then after chase tracks her down again, there was no real discussion of the misunderstandings between them as far as the people they thought the other was dating. His ex just gave up, just like that? I was hoping for more drama there. There were a lot of discussions that I wish the reader was privy to. But despite these issues, I still greatly enjoyed the story.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
