“What I really wanted was her.”

This trip home would be a hell of a lot easier if she wasn’t here.

Zoe. My ex-wife.

Fixing the broken finances of my family’s winery is a little below my pay grade. But if I don’t help, they might lose their land. The trouble is, she’s everywhere, and I can’t avoid her.

Seeing Zoe again dredges up feelings I’d rather ignore. Hurt. Regret. Desire. So much f***ing desire. She’s sassy and tough, and still the sexiest woman I’ve ever known.

I shouldn’t want her like this.

I let her go once, and I don’t deserve a second chance. But the more time I spend with her, the more I realize what we lost. What we could have again.

It might be crazy, but crazy was always our thing. And this time, I’m not going down without a fight.

**Each book in the Miles Family series ends with a romantic HEA, but there is an ongoing subplot that spans the entire series. Contains explicit language and content.**

Sunny Shelly’s Review: 5 Stars

Another brilliant story from the amazing Claire Kingsley, one of my absolute favorite authors. Broken Miles is an amazing tale of rediscovering a love that isn’t really quite lost between divorced couple Zoe and Roland. But what’s more, it’s also about the broken Miles family. I loved the family dynamics and dysfunction just as much as I loved Zoe and Roland’s reconnection.

Roland is called back home to lend a hand when his family is about to lose the winery that has been in the family for generations. But going back home doesn’t just mean seeing the siblings and parents he’s not that close with anymore, but also seeing his ex-wife, Zoe, who works as the winery’s event planner. From the tension-filled first hellos to slowly breaking down barriers and striking up a semblance of a friendship again to full-blown giving in to the passion and attraction that they still have for one another, Zoe and Roland were a couple I was rooting for from the start.

My favorite part of the book? The “talk” that Zoe and Roland have where they hash out the issues that plagued their marriage and led to their divorce. It was ugly and gritty, but CK didn’t shy away from delving into that — and wrote it so well, I felt like I was watching my friends hammer it out before my very eyes. It was a huge turning point in Zoe and Roland’s relationship and I would not have been able to get behind this couple’s reunion if that conversation had not happened.

The supporting players in Broken Miles were just as endearing. CK is off to a great start of a new series…. and I can’t wait to see what comes next for this loveable family. Especially Leo! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
