Perfect!
I fell in love with Jake and Casey two years ago when I first read Cake, and this sequel made me fall in love with them all over again. I love the rapport between Jake and Casey, and the appearances from all of their various family members shows just how close this couple and their extended families are.
Jake is still dealing with the issues from his abduction so many years ago, but I loved how when Casey is dealt a blow of her own, their balance of power shifts when she’s the one who is a bit of a mess. Even though he is a world-famous rock star, Jake is there for Casey every step of the way in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy.
When it comes to whether or not they should start a family, however, Jake and Casey aren’t quite on the same page. But Jake is determined to make his wife happy, even if that means facing the demons inside his mind that he’s been desperately running from.
I’ve loved every book so far in this series, and I hope that Bengtsson still has more books coming our way. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
