Home Run King is a stellar follow-up to Third Base by Leddy Harper and Stephie Walls, writing as Stella. The story starts out with Katie and Gage barely being able to be in the same room together because the animosity between them is just that intense. When Katie gets pregnant as a result of their one-night stand, Gage — a player, a jokester — decides to man up and be there during her pregnancy. There are a lot of ups and downs along the way, funny moments and incredibly sad moments, but Gage really proves himself when it comes to Katie and the baby, and that just made my heart melt.
By the end of the story, they’ve grown so much as individuals and together as a couple, and the reader goes along on the journey. Stella knocks another one out of the park with Home Run King. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
