Funny, funny, funny. You’ve Got Fail was a hysterical beauty and the geek romance between Willis — who is hiding the fact that he’s a man posing as advice blogger Scarlet Rocket — and a con woman who is passing herself off as Scarlet.
The banter between the two characters is laugh-out-loud funny. I love how Scarlet tries her damndest to not fall for her latest mark, and how suave Willis can be one minute and then geek out the next. At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of Fake Scarlet. But as the reason why she’s conning Willis came to light, my heart broke for her. And I was so invested in the insane attraction between the two of them that I didn’t want her to go through with her scheme!
It wasn’t only the relationship with Scarlet and Willis that I adored. His friendships with Elias and Jason are so relatable, especially the way he totally fangirls-in-secret about his budding friendship with the latter, a big movie star. The whole conversation with Jason and the 85-inches is HYSTERICAL. Scarlet is so fiercely protective of her sister, which I loved. I hope some of the secondary characters in this story get their own books! Especially Hannah and Elias!
