BLURB
My name is Molly Brinks, but most people know me as Vivienne Foxx, bestselling author of chance meetings, stolen glances, and the much-needed happily ever after. My addictions include coffee, home improvement television, and the occasional pint of ice cream. The love of my life is an eighty-pound labrador retriever named Pee Wee. At the age of twenty-nine-plus-one, I am at the top of my game…professionally. My personal life is a completely different story, one best left untold. Success has its sacrifices and I’ve been more than happy to put my search for Prince Charming on the back burner while I create fictitious tales of the naïve virgin, the broken girl with a torrid past, and the strong-willed student finding their own Mr. Right… Until one hell of a case of writer’s block and a tight deadline set by my publisher forces me outside my cozy downtown Boston apartment in search of inspiration.
Armed with an account on every dating website out there, I devise a plan. Meet some nice, professional men. Go on a few dates. Hope one of them has the spark I need to finish my book. Then walk away.
But plans are meant to be broken.
My name is Molly Brinks, and this is my story about Writing Mr. Right.

I love the premise of this story, that smut writer Molly is a commitaphobe serial dater whose beaus are unknowingly serving as the muses for the leading men in her stories. Right off the bat, Writing Mr. Right flips the script found in so many stories where the guy is the one wary of a serious relationship. So what’s a romance writer to do when she has a major case of writer’s block?
Writing Mr. Right is a snarky, quirky tale of how one woman learns to navigate the minefield that is serious dating at “twenty nine plus one.” Molly does not believe in love, having watched both her brother and father go through crumbling marriages. “Real love isn’t real life.”

So of course when Molly finds her next muse, she doesn’t know what to make of the real feelings she’s developing for him, since he’s the last person she should be getting involved with. But really, I didn’t consider it to be a forbidden relationship. There was a gray area there, and that then leads to The Conflict between the characters. But I cringed at each mention of their “forbidden” relationship because it just didn’t strike me as such,
Nevertheless, Writing Mr. Right was full of tender, real-life moments between Molly and her muse as they begin to fall for one another. And the relationships Molly has with her family — brother, best friend, aunt, and dad — are also wonderfully real. Kudos for TK Leigh for taking a chance on making Alzheimer’s such an integral part of this story. She weaves in the character of Molly’s dad so beautifully, and his struggle is a huge part of the story without completely overshadowing it.

I totally fell in love with Drew and Brooklyn, and can’t wait for their story to come out!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
